Abstract

This disclosure relates to Quality of Service (QoS) support for input / output and other agents. Techniques for QoS support for input / output and other agents are described. In one embodiment, a system includes: execution circuitry for executing a plurality of software threads; hardware for monitoring one or more shared resources or controlling the allocation of the one or more shared resources among the plurality of software threads; and storage means for storing data structures to configure and enable monitoring or allocation of the one or more shared resources among the plurality of software threads and one or more channels, one or more devices being connected to the one or more shared resources via the one or more channels, the data structures defining one or more resource management domains in the system and which one or more devices are included in which one or more resource management domains.
