Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a butt joint, preferably a T-joint, between an inner frame profile and an outer frame profile, with at least one butt connector profile, wherein the butt connector profile is connected to the outer frame profile at an outer end, wherein the butt connector profile is received at an inner end in a cavity of the inner frame profile, wherein the inner end of the butt connector profile has sealing surfaces on two opposite sides, wherein the sealing surfaces each form sealing gaps with the inner frame profile for receiving sealant. Furthermore, the invention relates to a butt connector profile for forming a butt joint, wherein the inner end of the butt connector profile has sealing surfaces on two opposite sides for sealing with a butt joint.
[0002] Corresponding butt joints are known in various designs and are preferably used to form window frames or the like. The butt joint is preferably designed as a T-joint, in which a continuous frame profile (crossbeam) and a frame profile (support beam) ending at the butt joint abut each other essentially at a right angle. In this case, however, any joint in which a frame profile abuts laterally against another frame profile and is firmly connected to it via a butt connector profile can be considered a butt joint.
[0003] A butt joint consisting of square profiles and a butt connector profile is known from DE 73 22 123 U1. The butt connector profile is inserted into the square profiles and connected to them via an overlapping adhesive joint.
[0004] In the butt joint known from DE 10 2004 014 598 A1, the butt connector profile is positively received in lateral profile elements of one frame profile and with its opposite end is received in a cavity of the other frame profile that corresponds to the butt connector profile, in which the butt connector profile is sealed against the frame profile. For this purpose, the butt connector profile has sealing surfaces on the section inserted into the cavity, which form sealing gaps with the frame profile, in particular the walls forming the cavity. The sealing surfaces and thus also the sealing gaps are provided on two opposite sides of the butt connector profile, which are arranged parallel to the longitudinal extent of the continuous frame profile. A sealant can be injected into the sealing gap from the outside via an opening in the corresponding frame profile. The opening is assigned to an end face of the butt connector profile.
[0005] To save sealant, the cross-section of the cavity accommodating the butt connector profile is essentially completely filled with the butt connector profile. Only narrow sealing gaps remain, which must be filled with sealant. As a result, the sealant must be laboriously injected into the butt joint under high pressure. In practice, however, this cannot prevent some sealing gaps from receiving as much sealant as desired. The butt joint is then not stable and / or durable enough.
[0006] To counteract this disadvantage, DE 93 21 523 U1 proposes a butt connector profile with a hollow chamber that serves as a sealant distribution channel and guides the sealant to a transverse opening that is open to a sealant gap.
[0007] However, such butt connector profiles have the disadvantage that a not insignificant portion of the sealant introduced into the butt connection remains unused in the cavity of the butt connector profile.
[0008] The present invention is therefore based on the object of designing and developing the butt joint mentioned at the outset and described in more detail above in such a way that it can be produced more easily and reliably with less use of sealant.
[0009] This object is achieved by a butt joint according to claim 1.
[0010] In addition, this object is achieved with a butt connector profile according to claim 12.
[0011] The invention has therefore recognized that by forming at least one recess into the butt connector profile, the distribution of the injected sealant can be reliably and easily ensured. In this way, the space remaining between the butt connector profile and the wall of the cavity of the inner frame profile can be kept to a minimum. Because of the recess, the intermediate space does not have to also distribute the sealant. Despite correspondingly small gap dimensions, a sufficiently large flow cross-section for the transport of the sealant to the corresponding sealing gaps can be provided through the recess. The sealant can be guided safely and easily into the sealing gaps between the sealing surfaces and the inner frame profile through the flow cross-section or channel defined at least by the recess and the inner frame profile, without accidental flow separation.Since the channel does not have to have large dimensions for a favorable distribution of the sealant, efficient use of the sealant can also be achieved by means of appropriate recesses or channels.
[0012] A recess can generally be understood as one that is embedded in the butt connector profile, preferably in its casing, in order to guide the sealant to the sealing gaps in a targeted manner and while increasing the flow cross-section. The recess forms, for example, a groove or a more or less branched and / or curved groove structure. The recess also forms an open channel, the opening of which can point towards the wall of the cavity of the inner frame profile. This wall can then essentially close the open channel of the butt connector profile when inserted into the cavity, with a small gap remaining between the butt connector profile and the wall if necessary. The recess in the butt connector profile is preferably provided in at least one end face of the butt connector profile in order to guide the sealant preferably outwards to the lateral sealing surfaces of the butt connector profile.
[0013] The recess can also form a substantially closed channel, at least together with the inner frame profile. However, if necessary, the channel can also be formed by adding the outer frame profile. The sealant-filled channel can then serve to seal the butt connector profile with the inner frame profile on the one hand and the outer frame profile on the other.
[0014] Furthermore, an opening is provided in the inner frame profile through which sealant can be injected to seal the butt joint. This allows the sealant to enter the recess and / or channel from the outside. Preferably, the sealant can first enter the recess or channel, or enter the recess or channel from at least one sealing gap. However, at least one further recess can also serve solely to absorb excess sealant and / or air displaced from the sealing gap.
[0015] The distinction between an inner and an outer frame profile is primarily for clarity. The terminology corresponds to the typical and preferred arrangement of the frame profiles within the frame itself. The frame profile located on the outside of the frame is preferably the continuous frame profile, while the frame profile located more on the inside of the frame preferably ends at the butt joint and, for example, butts against the continuous frame profile at an obtuse angle. This is also preferred, but not mandatory, as is the possible circumstance that the outer frame profile and the inner frame profile are aligned in a T-shape.
[0016] According to an analogous definition, which does not necessarily apply to every butt joint configuration, the two opposite ends of the butt connector profile are also referred to as the inner and outer ends. The outer end points toward the outer frame profile, while the inner end points away from the outer frame profile. It is preferred if the butt connector profile is inserted from one end face of the inner frame profile into a cavity in the same, whereby this end face can point toward the outer frame profile. The end face can also form a free end of the inner frame profile.
[0017] Alternatively or additionally, the butt joint is preferably a window frame joint. This is also not mandatory. The butt joint can also be a gate joint, a sunshade joint, a facade frame, or the like.
[0018] When sealing surfaces are mentioned here, this preferably refers to special surfaces which, for example due to their surface texture or an inwardly offset arrangement, can be designed to form a sealing gap with the inner frame profile, which is filled with the sealant. The surface of the sealing surface can, for example, have grooves, score lines or the like, while the sealing surfaces can be indented far enough inwards to create a sufficiently wide gap between the butt connector profile and the inner frame element to accommodate and form a continuous layer of sealant. If the sealing gap is too narrow, it may not be possible for enough sealant to penetrate. If the gap is too wide, the sealant may not be sufficient to fill the gap. In both cases, the sealing of the butt connection suffers.
[0019] Various materials can be used as sealants. These materials should preferably be water-repellent to prevent moisture from penetrating the butt joint. Furthermore, the sealant is preferably a material that adheres to both the frame profiles and the butt connector profile, with the frame profiles and the butt connector profile preferably being made of aluminum. In general, an adhesive sealant may be appropriate in this context, even if the butt joint does not need to be held by the integral connections provided by the sealant in the form of an adhesive. Other connections may be provided for this purpose. However, using an adhesive as a sealant has the advantage that moisture cannot penetrate the joint through any gaps that may exist between the sealant and the adjacent components, for example, through capillary action. Such gaps or capillaries do not occur if the sealant is bonded to both the butt connector profile and the inner frame profile and / or the outer frame profile.
[0020] The opening is provided in the inner frame profile at the height of the recess, relative to the longitudinal extent of the inner frame profile. This allows, for example, the sealant to be distributed directly over the recess or to ensure that the sealant can easily enter the recess.
[0021] Alternatively or additionally, the butt connector profile can have a sealing surface to form a sealing gap with the outer frame profile and to better seal the butt connection.
[0022] To save material and weight, the butt connector profile can have a hollow space. To save sealant, it may be preferable if the recess extends spatially separate from the cavity. Furthermore, there is preferably no direct connection between the cavity and the recess, through which significant amounts of sealant could enter the cavity. In such a case, the sealant may not be able to seal the butt joint properly.
[0023] Alternatively or additionally, for good sealant distribution and a structurally simple design of the butt connector profile, the recess can be provided in an end face of the butt connector profile facing in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the outer frame profile. The recess can extend transversely across the end face, preferably from one sealing gap to the opposite sealing gap. To provide short flow paths, the recess can extend essentially perpendicular to the sealing gaps connected by the recess.
[0024] To ensure easy sealing of the butt joint, the recess can be located directly adjacent to the outer frame profile. If required, the recess can be directly connected to a sealing surface to form a sealing gap with the outer frame profile. This also serves to seal the outer frame profile of the butt joint. For example, the butt joint can be located at various points along the outer frame profile without any preparatory work or assembly. For the sake of simplicity, the recess can be arranged to form the essentially closed channel together with the inner frame profile and the outer frame profile.
[0025] At least one end of the at least one recess has a transverse opening which provides fluid contact between the recess and a sealing gap extending into the area between the outer frame profile and the recess. This transverse opening merges into a longitudinal opening at the end of the recess. This creates a large opening area for exit into the sealing gap. Irrespective of this, the sealant can be guided towards the outer frame profile through the transverse opening. This is particularly useful when the recess is provided at a certain distance from the outer frame profile in order to nevertheless ensure reliable sealing against the outer frame profile. For the reasons mentioned, it can be particularly preferred if each recess has a corresponding transverse opening at both outer ends.
[0026] In addition to the one recess, at least one further recess of the type described can be provided. This recess can also be assigned an opening in the inner frame element. However, this is not required. Preferably, two recesses are therefore provided which, together with at least the inner frame profile, connect two sealing gaps that form essentially closed channels and are located opposite one another. This can be beneficial for the all-round sealing of the butt joint. It can also be advantageous if the second recess is spatially separated from a cavity in the butt connector profile and / or the second recess is also provided directly or indirectly adjacent to the outer frame profile, so that the recess, together with the inner frame profile and the outer frame profile, forms an essentially closed channel. This also ensures good all-round sealing of the butt joint.
[0027] For the sake of simplicity and to ensure a favorable flow of the sealant, it may be advantageous in this context if the two recesses are arranged on opposite sides, preferably end faces, of the butt connector profile.
[0028] To securely and permanently fix the inner frame profile to the butt connector profile, the butt connector profile can have at least one receptacle for a nail that can be driven through a wall of the inner frame profile. If necessary, this receptacle can also be filled with sealant to ensure permanent fixation of the nail. However, this can also be achieved in other ways.
[0029] To create the butt joint quickly, easily, and reliably, the butt connector profile can be connected to the outer frame profile at the outer end in a form-fitting manner along the longitudinal extension of the inner frame profile. This can be achieved particularly easily by sliding the butt connector profile onto a profile section, for example, a ribbed profile with undercuts, of the outer profile frame.
[0030] Alternatively or additionally, the butt connector profile and the outer frame profile can have corresponding undercuts to form a positive connection, so that at least the butt connector profile and the outer frame profile can be easily and reliably connected to one another at least in one direction, preferably in the longitudinal extension of the inner frame profile.
[0031] It is generally particularly preferred if the butt connector profile and the outer frame profile are connected to each other in a force-locking manner. This force-locking connection allows, for example, the butt connector profile to be easily and reliably secured to the outer frame profile in the longitudinal direction of the outer frame profile. For reasons of simplicity and reliability, the force-locking connection can also be provided using a clamping screw.
[0032] The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to a drawing which merely illustrates exemplary embodiments. Fig. 1 a first butt joint not according to the invention in a perspective view, Fig. 2A-C a first butt connector profile of the butt joint not according to the invention from Fig. 1 in a side view, a front view and a perspective view, Fig. 3A-C a second butt connector profile of the butt joint not according to the invention Fig. 1 in a side view, a front view and a perspective view, Fig. 4 the butt joint Fig. 1 without sealant in a view along section IV-IV from Fig. 1, Fig. 5 the butt joint Fig. 1 with sealant in a representation according to Fig. 4, Fig. 6A-C a first butt connector profile according to the invention in a side view, a front view and a perspective view, Fig. 7A-C a second butt connector profile according to the invention in a side view, a front view and a perspective view, Fig. 8 a butt joint according to the invention without sealant in a sectional view and Fig. 9 the butt joint Fig. 8 with sealant in a representation according to Fig. 4.
[0033] In the Fig. 1 shows a butt joint 1 in the form of a T-joint. The butt joint 1 forms part of a window frame profile (not shown in detail) and has a continuous outer frame profile 2 (shown below) and an inner frame profile 3 abutting it at approximately a right angle. The two frame profiles 2, 3 are connected to one another via two butt connector profiles 4, 5. Each butt connector profile 4, 5 has an inner end received in a cavity 6, 7 of the inner frame profile 3 and an outer end inserted into profile elements of the outer frame element 2 designed as rib profiles 8. The outer ends of the butt connector profiles 4, 5 and the rib profiles 8 have corresponding undercuts which engage behind one another to form a positive connection in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the inner frame profile 3.
[0034] In the illustrated and, in this respect, preferred butt joint 1, the butt connector profiles 4, 5 are also non-positively connected to the respective rib profiles 8 via so-called punching screws and clamping screws 35, 39. This prevents accidental displacement of the butt connector profiles 4, 5 along the rib profiles 8.
[0035] The butt connector profile 4 shown on the left is also firmly bonded to the inner frame profile 3 via a sealant 9. The sealant 9 is held between the walls of the cavities 6, 7, in which the butt connector profiles 4, 5 are accommodated, and the sealing surfaces 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 of the butt connector profiles 4, 5. The butt connector profiles 4, 5 form corresponding sealing gaps 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 with the walls of the cavities 6, 7 to accommodate the sealant 9. After the butt connector profiles 4, 5 have been inserted into the cavities 6, 7, the sealant 9 can be fed to the inner frame profile 3 via openings 24, 25 to seal the butt connection. The sealant 9 injected through the openings 24, 25 is distributed in the sealing gaps 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 between the butt connector profiles 4, 5 and the walls of the cavities 6, 7.In addition, the butt connection 1 is secured by driving nails 26 into correspondingly profiled sections of the butt connector profiles 4,5.
[0036] In the Fig. 2A-C is a first of the two butt connector profiles 4.5 made of Fig. 1 in different views. The cross-section of the first butt connector profile 4 is approximately rectangular and, in terms of its dimensions, essentially corresponds to the cross-section of the first cavity 6 in which the first butt connector profile 4 is accommodated. Preferably, however, the cross-section of the butt connector profile 4 is somewhat smaller than the cross-section of the first cavity 6, so that small gaps remain between the inner frame profile 3 and the butt connector profile. At the lower, outer end of the first butt connector profile 4, a foot 27 with undercuts 28 is provided, which are designed to correspond to the rib profiles 8 and their corresponding undercuts of the outer frame profile 2. With the foot 27, the first butt connector profile 4 can be pushed onto the rib profiles 8, which are aligned parallel to one another. The rib profiles 8 of the outer frame profile 2 and the foot 27 of the first butt connector profile 4 then form a positive connection in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the inner frame profile 3.
[0037] In the illustrated and, in this respect, preferred butt joint 1, the recesses 30, 31 of the first butt connector profile 4 are arranged on opposite end faces of the butt connector profile 4 and each directly above the foot 27 of the first butt connector profile 4. The recesses 30, 31 extend in a straight line and transversely to the outer frame profile 2. The recesses 30, 31 also have an approximately semicircular cross-section and each form a channel that is open to the outside at the sides but closed to the inside for distributing the sealant 9 injected into the inner frame profile 3 via the corresponding opening 24.
[0038] The opening 24 is arranged approximately centrally at the level of the recess 30, so that the sealant 9 initially enters the recess 30, which, together with the adjacent walls of the inner frame profile 3 and the outer frame profile 2, forms a substantially closed channel. In the illustrated and, in this respect, preferred butt joint 1, the channel is not completely closed. Rather, small gaps remain between the first butt connector profile 4 and the frame parts 2, 3 because the first butt connector profile 4 is somewhat smaller than the cavity 6 of the inner frame profile 3. The sealant 9 flows via the channel to both sides of the first butt connector profile 4 and into the sealing gaps 16, 17, 18, which are formed between the sealing surfaces 10, 11, 12 provided there with the walls of the cavity 6.The recess 31 arranged on the end wall of the first butt connector profile 4 facing away from the opening 24 can also serve to distribute sealant 9, for example, to distribute the sealant 9 from one sealing gap 16, 18 to the opposite sealing gap 18, 16. However, the recess 31 can also serve to accommodate air escaping from the sealing gaps 16, 18 and / or any excess amounts of sealant 9 introduced into the butt joint 1.
[0039] In the illustrated and preferred first butt connector profile 4, the sealing surfaces 10, 11, 12 have parallel grooves for secure sealing. On one side of the first butt connector profile 4, two sealing surfaces 10, 11 are arranged one above the other at a certain distance from each other.
[0040] The first butt connector profile 4 also has two inner cavities 32, 33 that are not in fluid contact with the recess 30, 31 and are open to the end faces. The upper cavity 32 serves to accommodate a nail 26 for positively connecting the inner frame profile 3 to the first butt connector profile 4 via a nail 26. Furthermore, an opening 34 is provided at the head of the butt connector profile 4, through which a punching screw 39 arranged in the foot 27 of the first butt connector profile 4 is accessible. The tightened punching screw 39 prevents the first butt connector profile 4 from slipping along the rib profiles 8.
[0041] In the Fig. 3A-C is a second butt connector profile 5 made of Fig. 1 in different views. On one side of the second butt connector profile 5, a sealing surface 13 having parallel ribs is provided, which, together with a side wall of the corresponding cavity 7 of the inner frame profile 3, forms a sealing gap 19 for receiving sealant 9. On the opposite side of the second butt connector profile 5, two hook profiles 36 arranged parallel to one another are provided, which engage with corresponding lateral rib profiles 8 of the outer frame profile 2. The hook profiles 36, like the rib profiles 8, extend in the longitudinal direction of the outer frame profile 2. The hook profiles 36 and rib profiles 8 have corresponding undercuts, via which a positive connection is established, which fixes the second butt connector profile 5 in the longitudinal direction of the inner frame profile 2.At the head end of the second butt connector profile 5, there is also a laterally open recess 38 for receiving a nail 26, via which the inner frame profile 3 and the second butt connector profile 5 can be connected to one another. Furthermore, a clamping screw 35 is guided through a hole in the second butt connector profile 5, via which the second butt connector profile 5 is force-fittingly connected to the outer frame profile 2. This force-fitting connection ensures that the second butt connector profile 5 is fixed to the outer frame profile 2 in the longitudinal direction of the outer frame profile 2. The connection between the inner frame profile 3 and the second butt connector profile 5 is primarily established by a nail 26, which is driven through a wall of the inner frame profile 3 into a recess 38 in the second butt connector profile 5.
[0042] On the inward-facing side of the second butt connector profile 5, an elongated recess 40 is provided above the sealing surface 13. A sealant 9 can be introduced into this recess from the outside via the corresponding opening 25 in the inner frame profile 3. If necessary, this lateral recess 40 can also be narrower than shown, which, however, would then require more material for the second butt connector profile 5. Before the sealant 9 is introduced into the butt joint 1, the lateral recess 40 is in fluid contact with a recess 41 formed transversely to the second butt connector profile 5 in its end face, or rather, with the essentially closed channel defined essentially by the recess 41 and the inner frame profile 3. The channel, in turn, is in fluid contact with the opening 25 in the inner frame profile 3 and the sealing gap 20 on the outer side of the second butt connector profile 5.The sealant 9 can penetrate through the opening 25 into the channel defined by the recess 41 and the inner frame profile 3, which then distributes the sealant 9 both into the outer sealing gap 20 between the sealing surface 14 of the second butt connector profile 5 and the inner frame profile 3 and into the recess 40 on the inside of the second butt connector profile 5. Via the recess 40 on the inside of the second butt connector profile 5, the sealant 9 also reaches the sealing gap 19 between the sealing surface 13 of the second butt connector profile 5 and the inner frame profile 3, adjacent to the sealing surface 13 provided there. Furthermore, the sealant 9 also passes past the end face of the second butt connector profile 5 into the sealing gap 21 between an outer sealing surface 15 of the second butt connector profile 5 and the outer frame profile 2 and fills the sealing gap 21.To make it easier for the sealant 9 to penetrate into this sealing gap 21, the hook profile 36 can be shortened, for example, at the ends.
[0043] This can be done simultaneously with the introduction of at least one recess 41 in the second butt connector profile 5, for example if the recess is arranged at the height of the hook profile 36, i.e. slightly lower than in the Fig. 3A-C.
[0044] In the illustrated and, in this respect, preferred second butt connector profile 5, a second recess 42 is provided on the side of the butt connector profile 5 facing away from the first recess 41. This second recess 42 is designed analogously to the first recess and can also be filled with sealant 9, which can, for example, penetrate from the sealing gaps 19, 20 into the second recess. Due to the second recess 42, the second butt connector profile 5 can be sealed circumferentially with respect to the inner frame profile 3 and the outer frame profile 2.
[0045] In the Fig. 4 is the butt joint 1 made of Fig. 1 in a sectional view. The outer frame profile 2 has profile elements extending in the longitudinal direction, which in the illustrated and thus preferred butt connection are designed as hook-shaped rib profiles 8. A foot 27 of the first butt connector profile 4 engages in these in a form-fitting manner. In order to prevent the butt connector profile 4 from shifting along the outer frame profile 2, a punching screw 39 is provided, with which the first butt connector profile 4 can be connected or secured to the outer frame profile 2. For this purpose, the punching screw 39 has a type of mandrel at its front end, which, when the punching screw 39 is tightened, presses into the outer frame profile 2, deforming it and thus forming a form-fitting connection between the punching screw 39 and the outer frame profile 2.
[0046] Above the punching screw 39, a larger and a smaller cavity 32, 33 are provided, whereby the smaller cavity 32 can accommodate a nail 26 for connection to the inner frame profile 3, if necessary. Both cavities 32, 33 and thus the punching screw 39 are accessible from above via corresponding openings 34.
[0047] Above the foot 27, on one side, two sealing surfaces 14, 15 are provided, each with a groove structure, which form sealing gaps 16, 17 with the adjacent wall of the cavity 6 receiving the first butt connector profile 4. On the opposite side of the first butt connector profile 4, adjacent to the outer frame profile 2, a bevel with a sealing surface 45 is provided, above which a further sealing surface 12 is provided, which forms a sealing gap 18 with the adjacent wall of the inner frame profile 3. The beveled sealing surface 45 can also be regarded as a sealing surface 45 forming a sealing gap 46, even if the sealing gap 46 in the illustrated and thus preferred first butt connector profile 4 is relatively wide for better distribution of the sealant 9.
[0048] Opposite the first cavity 6, the inner frame profile 3 has a second cavity 7, into which a second butt connector profile 5 is received. The hook profiles 36 of the second butt connector profile 5 engage laterally with corresponding rib profiles 8 of the outer frame profile 2, thus forming a positive connection in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the inner frame profile 3. A force-locking connection between the outer frame profile 2 and the second butt connector profile 5 exists due to the tightened clamping screw 35.
[0049] In the area of the hook profiles 36 of the second butt connector profile 5, the second butt connector profile 5 forms sealing gaps 20, 21 for receiving sealant 9, which are delimited by corresponding sealing surfaces 14, 15 of the second butt connector profile 5. On the opposite side of the second butt connector profile 5, a further sealing surface 13 having a groove structure is provided, which, together with the adjacent wall of the inner frame profile 3, forms a gap 19 for receiving sealant 9.
[0050] In the Fig. 5 is the butt joint 1 made of Fig. 1 in the view according to Fig. 4, but with the difference that the spaces between the butt connector profiles 4,5 and the inner frame profile 3 are filled with sealant 9, which has been supplied via the corresponding openings 24,25 in the inner frame profile 3. The Fig. 5 shows the butt joint 1 in the sealed state.
[0051] The sealant 9 introduced through the opening 24 into the cavity 6 of the inner frame profile 3 (shown on the left) is initially distributed along the front side on both sides of the recess 30 adjacent to the opening 24. In the process, the outer frame profile 2 is also exposed to sealant 9. The sealant 9 then reaches the lateral sealing gaps 16, 17, 18, 46 and fills them. The sealing gaps 16, 17, 18 between the sealing surfaces 10, 11, 12 and the walls enclosing the cavity 6 are filled with sealant 9.
[0052] The recess 31 provided on the rear end wall of the first butt connector profile 4 can also accommodate sealant 9. This can be excess sealant 9 or sealant 9 intended to seal the butt joint 1 all the way around. In the illustrated and, in this respect, preferred butt joint 1, the first butt connector profile 4 is ultimately sealed all the way around.
[0053] In the cavity 7 of the inner frame profile 3 shown on the right, in which the second butt connector profile 5 is accommodated, sealant 9 is also fed to the inner frame profile 3 through the corresponding opening 25. The sealant 9 initially reaches the area of the recess 41 in the end face of the second butt connector profile 5. From there, the sealant 9 first reaches the lateral recess 40 and then the sealing gap 19 formed between the inward-facing sealing surface 13 and the adjacent wall of the inner frame profile 3, filling it. At the same time, sealant 9 passes through the recess to the other side of the second butt connector profile 5, specifically into the sealing gap 20 between one of the lateral sealing surfaces 14 and the inner frame profile 3.Via gaps that remain between the second butt connector profile 5 and the inner frame profile 3 as well as the outer frame profile 2, the sealant 9 also reaches a sealing gap 21 between a further lateral sealing surface 15 and the outer frame profile 2. In order to completely seal the butt connection 1, a second recess 42 is let into the second butt connector profile 5 on the side of the second butt connector profile 5 facing away from the opening 25, analogous to the first recess 41. The sealant 9 passes from the lateral sealing gaps 19, 20, 21 into the second recess 42, which in this way is also filled with sealant 9.
[0054] In the Fig. 6A-C shows another butt connector profile 4', which is essentially identical to the butt connector profile 4 from Fig. 2, which is why the further butt connector profile 4' according to Fig. 6A-C is not described in as much detail as the butt connector profile 4 from Fig. 2. However, there are differences regarding the arrangement and design of both the recesses and the sealing gaps. These differences, in particular, are explained in more detail below.
[0055] The recesses 30', 31' of the illustrated and, in this respect, preferred butt connector profile 4' are arranged on opposite end faces. Furthermore, the recesses 30', 31' extend linearly and transversely to the outer frame profile 2. Furthermore, the recesses 30', 31' are open in the longitudinal direction to provide fluid contact with the adjacent sealing gaps, which extend into the area between the recesses and the base 27' of the butt connector profile 4'. The recesses 30', 31' can optionally have a semicircular or rectangular cross-section.
[0056] Unlike the butt connector profile 4 made of Fig. 2, however, the recesses 30', 31' are arranged at a significant distance from the base 27' of the butt connector profile 4'. The recesses 30', 31' also have openings in both the transverse and longitudinal directions, with the openings 50', 51' merging into one another. The opening 24 of the inner frame profile 3 is arranged at the level of the recess 30', so that the sealant 9 initially enters the recess 30'. From there, the sealant 9 flows outward into the sealing gap, and due to the opening 51' in the transverse direction, was also in this transverse direction. The sealant 9 is thus ultimately directed downwards towards the outer frame profile 2. If the recess 31' on the other end face of the butt connector profile 4' is not assigned an opening in the inner frame profile 3, this recess 31' can serve to accommodate air escaping from the sealing gaps and / or excess amounts of sealant 9.
[0057] The illustrated and, in this respect, preferred butt connector profile 4' also has a foot 27' with undercuts 28' at the outer end for a positive connection to the outer frame profile 2. Furthermore, two inner cavities 32', 33' are also provided, which are not in fluid contact with the recess 30', 31' and are open to the end faces. The butt connector profile 4' can be secured to the outer frame profile 2 using a punching screw, which is accessible via an opening 34'.
[0058] In the Fig. 7A-C shows a butt connector profile 5' that corresponds to the butt connector profile 5 from Fig. 1. The illustrated and preferred butt connector profile 5' also features two parallel hook profiles 36' that can engage with corresponding lateral rib profiles 8 of the outer frame profile 2. Furthermore, a clamping screw can be provided, via which the second butt connector profile 5' is non-positively connected to the outer frame profile 2.
[0059] At a considerable distance from the outer end of the butt connector profile 5', a recess 41' is provided above the sealing surface 13'. A sealant 9 can be fed into this recess from the outside via the corresponding opening 25 in the inner frame profile 3. The recess 41' has openings 52', 53' in the longitudinal and transverse directions, from which the sealant 9 can flow into adjacent sealing gaps 40', 20', 21'. A similarly designed recess 42' is provided on the opposite end wall of the butt connector profile 5'. Sealant can be directed downwards through the openings 53' of the recesses 41', 42' towards the outer end of the butt connector profile 5'. Alternatively, the second recess 42' can also serve solely to accommodate excess sealant 9.
[0060] In the illustrated and preferred butt connector profile 5', a sealing surface 14' is provided adjacent to the hook profiles, while the sealing surfaces 13' and 54' are provided on the opposite side of the butt connector profile 5'. The upper sealing surface 54' is recessed to provide a wide recess 40', which can be considered a wide sealing gap.
[0061] In the Fig. 8 is a butt joint 1' according to the butt joint 1 from Fig. 1 in a sectional view. The foot 27' of one butt connector profile 4' engages positively with the outer frame profile. Above the foot 27', on one side, two sealing surfaces 10', 11' are provided, which define sealing gaps 16', 17'. In the area of the foot, a bevel with a sealing surface 45' is provided, which defines a sealing gap 46'. On the side of the butt connector profile 4' facing away from the sealing surface 45', another sealing surface 12' is arranged, which defines a sealing gap 18'.
[0062] The additional butt connector profile 5' has sealing gaps 20', 40' on opposite sides for receiving sealant 9, which are delimited by corresponding sealing surfaces 14', 54' of the second butt connector profile 5'. A further sealing surface 13' and a further sealing gap 19' are provided, facing more toward the outer frame profile 3.
[0063] In the Fig. 9 is the same butt joint 1' as in Fig.8, but with sealing gaps 16', 17', 18', 19', 20', 40', 56' filled with sealant 9 and bounded by corresponding sealing surfaces 11', 12', 13', 14', 54', 55'. The sealant thus penetrates so deeply into the spaces between the frame profiles 2, 3 and the butt connector profiles 4', 5' that the connections of the frame profiles 2, 3 are securely sealed against each other. In particular, after the lower sealing gaps 16', 19', 20', 21', 40', 46', 56' have filled the connection area between the frame profiles, the sealant 9 is pressed upward into the remaining gap areas. The corresponding counterpressure can indicate sufficient filling of the sealing gaps 16',19',20',21',40',46',56' and / or support the complete filling of the sealing gaps 16',19',20',21',40',46',56'.
