Abstract

Method for detecting misfires in an internal combustion engine (1) with a camshaft and a plurality of cylinders, which is coupled to a drive train (100) with a dual-mass flywheel (4), comprising the steps of: • Determining a first speed value by measuring a speed on an input side (41) of the dual-mass flywheel (4); • Determining a second speed value by measuring a speed on an output side (43) of the dual-mass flywheel (4), wherein the second speed value is determined in a high-resolution manner; • Assessing the presence of a misfire by including the first speed value and the second speed value; characterized in that misfires are detected cylinder-selectively by including a camshaft position signal in the assessment of the presence of a misfire.
