Abstract

Center armrest for a motor vehicle with a base body (10) made of plastic material, injection molded as a support structure, wherein the base body (10) has sections (11, 12), wherein one section (12) is enclosed by another section (11), and the one section (12) is connected to the other section (11), wherein one section (12) is reinforced with short fibers and the other section (11) has at least one area which has a plurality of unidirectional continuous fiber reinforced semi-finished products (14) which are rod-shaped, each having a plurality of fibers which are impregnated with a thermoplastic matrix material.
