Abstract

The subject matter of the patent claim is a mutual rescue and warning system for swimmers in open water, characterized by: 1. A bracelet, wearable around a swimmer's wrist. 2. An integrated GPS transmitter in the said wristband, designed for the continuous recording and transmission of the swimmer's geographical position. 3. A heart rate tracker, also integrated into the wristband, for continuous monitoring and recording of the swimmer's heart rate. 4. A vibration sensor inside the wristband, designed to emit a vibration alarm to the wearer of the wristband. 5. A control unit inside the wristband, programmed to: a. Evaluation and transmission of the data from the GPS transmitter and the heart rate tracker. b. Detection of a simultaneous drop in heart rate and a lack of movement via the GPS transmitter by another control unit. c. Activation of the vibration sensor to alert the swimmer upon detection of the situation described in point 5b. 6. A communication unit integrated into the wristband, designed to: a. In the event of a situation as described in point 5b, communicates wirelessly with other nearby wristbands of the same system. b. Activates the vibration sensor on nearby wristbands to inform these swimmers of the potential danger and enable immediate assistance. This system ensures that swimmers in open water are immediately alerted if a fellow swimmer is potentially in danger, so that rapid rescue measures can be initiated.

Description

[0001] The subject matter of the patent claim is a mutual rescue and warning system for swimmers in open water, as described below: Open water competitions with many participants are often confusing as far as individual swimmers are concerned, as they are only marked with their heads and sometimes with a buoy.

[0002] If problems arise where a swimmer is floating motionless in the water, meaning they have no movement or vital signs, this is difficult or even impossible for overtaking swimmers to detect. The patent solves this problem, specifically by: A bracelet wearable around your wrist as a swimmer. An integrated GPS transmitter in the said wristband, designed to continuously record and transmit the swimmer's geographical position. A heart rate tracker, also integrated into the wristband, for continuously monitoring and recording the swimmer's heart rate. A vibration sensor within the wristband designed to emit a vibrating alert to the wearer of the wristband. A control unit inside the bracelet, programmed to: a. Evaluation and transmission of data from the GPS transmitter and the heart rate tracker. b. Detection of a simultaneous drop in heart rate and a lack of movement via the GPS transmitter by another control unit. c. Activation of the vibration sensor to alert the swimmer when the situation described in point 5b is detected. A communication unit integrated into the wristband, designed to: a. In the event of a situation identified under point 5b, communicate wirelessly with other nearby wristbands of the same system. b. Activates the vibration sensor on nearby wristbands to alert swimmers of the potential danger and enable immediate assistance.

[0003] This system ensures that swimmers in open water are immediately alerted if a fellow swimmer is potentially in danger, so that rapid rescue measures can be initiated.

Claims

[1] A rescue and warning system for open water swimmers, comprising: a) A bracelet designed and sized to be worn around the wrist of a swimmer. b) A GPS transmitter integrated in the wristband to continuously record the swimmer’s geographical position. c) A heart rate tracker integrated into the wristband to continuously monitor the swimmer’s heart rate. d) A vibration sensor integrated into the wristband. e) A control unit integrated in the wristband, programmed to evaluate the data from the GPS transmitter and the heart rate tracker and to activate the vibration sensor based on the evaluated data. [2] The rescue and warning system of claim 1, wherein the control unit is further programmed to detect a simultaneous drop in heart rate and a lack of locomotion based on the data from the GPS transmitter. [3] The rescue and warning system according to any one of the preceding claims, further comprising a communication unit integrated in the wristband, configured for wireless communication with other wristbands of the same system.
