The present invention relates to an integrated coil unit comprising a magnetic core, a coil wound around the magnetic core and configured to conduct an electric current, and a housing, wherein the housing is a plastic injection molded component, and wherein the magnetic core and the coil are overmolded by the housing and serve to achieve the combined characteristics of the electromagnetic, mechanical, and thermal properties.
