[0036] In a related technology, the frontal radiation efficiency of a display panel, i.e., the radiation efficiency perpendicular to a substrate plate within the display panel, can be improved by an additional optical structure. For example, the optical structure comprises a layer with a higher refractive index and a layer with a lower refractive index, and a portion of the light incident from the layer with the higher refractive index to the layer with the lower refractive index can be totally reflected, so that light which would otherwise not be emitted to the front is emitted to or near the front, thus improving the frontal radiation efficiency of the display panel.

[0037] Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure present a display field with which the frontal radiation efficiency can be further improved.

[0038] Fig. Figure 1A is a schematic representation showing the structure of a display field according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0039] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1A, the display field comprises a substrate plate 11, a pixel boundary layer 12, an encapsulation layer 13, and a light modulation layer 14 (which in some embodiments may also be referred to as the first light modulation layer 14). In some embodiments, see Figure 1A. Fig. 1A, the display field also includes a module layer 15. The module layer 15 includes, for example, a contact layer, a polarization layer and a cover plate, which are arranged sequentially on a side of the light modulation layer 14 away from the substrate plate 11.

[0040] Substrate plate 11 can, for example, be a glass substrate. Another example of substrate plate 11 could be a flexible substrate, e.g., a polyimide (PI) substrate, etc.

[0041] The pixel boundary layer 12 is arranged on one side of the substrate plate 11 and has a plurality of first openings V1 to delimit a plurality of subpixels. The plurality of first openings V1 corresponds one-to-one to the plurality of subpixels. For example, the plurality of subpixels includes red subpixels R, green subpixels G, and blue subpixels B.

[0042] It goes without saying that the display field also contains other items, in Fig. 1A may contain components not shown, such as a plurality of pixel driver circuits and a planarization layer covering the plurality of pixel driver circuits. Anodes for each subpixel may be located on the side of the planarization layer facing away from the substrate plate 11 and connected to the pixel driver circuits. The pixel boundary layer 12 may be arranged on the side of the planarization layer and the anodes facing away from the substrate plate 11. Each first opening V1 of the pixel boundary layer 12 causes at least part of an anode of a corresponding subpixel to be exposed.

[0043] The encapsulation layer 13 is arranged on a side of the pixel boundary layer 12 facing away from the substrate plate 11. In some embodiments, the encapsulation layer 13 comprises a first inorganic layer 131, a second inorganic layer 132, and an organic layer 133 arranged between the first inorganic layer 131 and the second inorganic layer 132.

[0044] The light modulation layer 14 is arranged on a side of the encapsulation layer 13 facing away from the substrate plate 11. The light modulation layer 14 comprises a first light modulation sublayer 141 and a second light modulation sublayer 142, wherein the second light modulation sublayer 142 has a refractive index greater than that of the first light modulation sublayer 141.

[0045] The first light modulation sublayer 141 has at least one second aperture V2 that corresponds one-to-one to the at least one subpixel. The second light modulation sublayer 142 comprises a first light modulation section 1421 located in each of the second apertures V2. For example, the first light modulation sublayer 141 has only one second aperture V2 corresponding to a subpixel. Another example is that the first light modulation sublayer 141 has a plurality of second apertures V2, the plurality of second apertures V2 corresponding one-to-one to a plurality of subpixels.

[0046] The light modulation layer 14 is configured such that light from each of the at least one subpixel propagates in one direction away from the substrate plate 11 after being totally reflected upon striking the interface between the first light modulation section 1421 in the corresponding second aperture V2 and the first light modulation sublayer 141. For example, this is illustrated Fig. 1A, that the light of the green subpixel G propagates in a direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11 after it has been totally reflected upon striking the interface between the first light modulation section 1421 in the corresponding second aperture V2 and the first light modulation sublayer 141.

[0047] It becomes clear that at least one subpixel has both a corresponding first aperture V1 and a corresponding second aperture V2. Hereinafter, the orthographic projections of the first aperture V1 and the second aperture V2 of each subpixel on the substrate plate 11 are referred to as the first orthographic projection V1' and the second orthographic projection V2', respectively.

[0048] The display field of Fig. 1A satisfies at least one of the following first and second conditions. The first condition is that at least some of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' have a recess RS; and the second condition is that at least some of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' have at least one recess RS and a projection PT.

[0049] Fig. 1B and Fig. Figures 1C are schematic representations of a first orthographic projection and a second orthographic projection of some embodiments of the present disclosure. The first condition and the second condition according to some embodiments of the present disclosure are below in conjunction with the Fig. 1B and Fig. 1C is shown.

[0050] To illustrate the recesses RS and the projections PT more clearly, both (a) in Fig. 1B as well as (a) in Fig. 1C the case where neither the first orthographic projection V1' nor the second orthographic projection V2' has the recesses RS or the projections PT. Here, the first orthographic projection V1' and the second orthographic projection V2' are schematically represented as hexagons. It is understood that the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this and that the first orthographic projection V1' and the second orthographic projection V2' can also have other shapes.

[0051] The first condition is introduced first.

[0052] Referring to (b) in Fig. 1B The first condition is that at least some of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' have a notch RS. For example, the first orthographic projection V1' is hexagonal, at least one edge of the first orthographic projection V1' has a notch RS, and the other edges do not have a notch RS; and for example, the first orthographic projection V1' is hexagonal and each edge of the first orthographic projection V1' has a notch RS.

[0053] It becomes clear that if the display field meets the first condition, this helps to reduce the size of the first aperture V1 of the pixel boundary layer 12. In this way, the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field can be improved.

[0054] The second condition is described below.

[0055] Referring to (b) in Fig. 1C includes the second condition that at least some of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' have a notch RS. For example, the second orthographic projection V2' is hexagonal, at least one edge of the second orthographic projection V2' has a notch RS, and the other edges do not have a notch RS; and for example, the second orthographic projection V2' is hexagonal and each edge of the second orthographic projection V2' has a notch RS.

[0056] Referring to (c) in Fig. 1C includes the second condition that at least some of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' have a projection PT. For example, the second orthographic projection V2' is hexagonal, at least one edge of the second orthographic projection V2' has a projection PT, and the other edges have no projections PT; and for example, the second orthographic projection V2' is hexagonal and every edge of the second orthographic projection V2' has a projection PT.

[0057] It is understood that the display field also fulfills the second condition if at least part of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' has both a recess RS and a projection PT.

[0058] Fig. Figure 1D is a schematic representation showing a second orthographic projection of some other embodiments of the present disclosure. A second condition according to some other embodiments of the present disclosure is shown below in conjunction with Fig. 1D representation.

[0059] Fig. Figure 1D illustrates an interface I1 between the first light modulation section 1421 and the first light modulation sublayer 141.

[0060] With respect to (a) in 1D, the interface I1 between the first light modulation section 1421 and the first light modulation sublayer 141 is planar.

[0061] Referring to (b) and (c) in 1D, the second condition is that at least a part of the interface I1 between the first light modulation section 1421 and the first light modulation sublayer 141 is non-planar. For example, interface I1 comprises a plurality of surfaces, and in some cases at least one surface of interface I1 is non-planar and the other surfaces are planar; in other cases every surface of interface I1 is non-planar.

[0062] It becomes clear that at least part of the interface I1 is not planar if at least part of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' has at least one of recess RS and projection PT.

[0063] As from Fig. As can be seen in 1D, if at least part of the interface I1 is not planar, the area of interface I1 is larger compared to a planar surface. In this way, the light is totally reflected more strongly by the subpixels, which contributes to an increase in the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0064] In the above embodiments, the display panel fulfills at least one of the first and second conditions. Such a structure helps to improve the frontal radiation efficiency of the display panel.

[0065] In some embodiments, the display panel fulfills both the first and second conditions. Such a structure helps to further improve the frontal radiation efficiency of the display panel.

[0066] In some embodiments, the frontal radiation efficiency is 5% higher in the case where the display field meets at least one of the first and second conditions than the frontal radiation efficiency in the case where the display field does not meet the first and second conditions.

[0067] Fig. 2 is a schematic partial view of the in Fig. 1A of the display field shown.

[0068] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, it is assumed that the light from the subpixel undergoes total internal reflection after striking the interface I1 via region A. α is equal to the angle of total internal reflection arcsin (n1 / n2), where n1 is the refractive index of the first light modulation sublayer 141 and n2 is the refractive index of the second light modulation sublayer 142.

[0069] The frontal radiation efficiency of the display field can be equivalently expressed as the ratio of the area of region A to the area of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first aperture V1 of the pixel boundary layer 12. It is evident that the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field can be improved either by increasing the area A or by decreasing the area of the first orthographic projection V1'.

[0070] If the area of the interface I1 is increased, this corresponds to an increase in the area of region A, so that the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field can be improved.

[0071] Accordingly, the display panel can improve the radiation efficiency of the display panel if at least one of the first and second conditions is met.

[0072] In some embodiments, at least part of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' on the substrate plate 11 of the first aperture V1 of a blue subpixel B has a recess RS, as in (b) in Fig. Figure 1B shows that this helps to improve the frontal efficiency of the white light from the display panel.

[0073] In other embodiments, at least part of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' on the substrate plate 11 of the second opening V2 of a blue subpixel B has at least one recess RS and projection PT, as in (b) and (c) in Fig. Figure 1B shows that this contributes to improving the frontal efficiency of the white light from the display panel.

[0074] Fig. 3A and Fig. Figure 3B are schematic representations illustrating the arrangement of subpixels in a display field according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0075] In some embodiments, such as in Fig. As shown in Figure 3A, the multitude of subpixels in the display field can be arranged in a GGRB pixel arrangement, i.e., a pixel consists of two green subpixels G, one red subpixel R, and one blue subpixel B. For example, the shape of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first aperture V1 of the green subpixel G is pentagonal, and the shapes of the first orthographic projections V1' of the first apertures V1 of the red subpixel R and the blue subpixel B are hexagonal.

[0076] In other embodiments, such as in Fig. As shown in Figure 3B, the multitude of subpixels in the display field can be arranged in a standard RGB pixel arrangement (sRGB pixel arrangement), a conventional RGB pixel arrangement (Real RGB pixel arrangement), a diamond pixel arrangement, or a diamond-like pixel arrangement.

[0077] Fig. 4A- Fig. Figure 4D represents a schematic representation of a first orthographic projection and a second orthographic projection according to some further embodiments of the present disclosure. Fig. 4A- Fig. In 4D, the first direction and the second direction are perpendicular to each other.

[0078] As in the Fig. 4A- Fig. As shown in 4D, the edges of both the first orthographic projection V1' and the second orthographic projection V2' comprise a first edge E1 and a second edge E2, which are arranged opposite each other in a first direction, and a third edge E3 and a fourth edge E4, which are arranged opposite each other in a second direction, with the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 each being adjacent to the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 respectively.

[0079] In Fig. 4A and Fig. 4C is the part of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' lying above the line L1, the first edge E1, and the part of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' lying below the line L2 is the second edge E2. Fig. 4B and Fig. 4D is the part of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' lying above the line L3, the first edge E1, and the part of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' lying below the line L4, the second edge E2.

[0080] In some embodiments, see Fig. 4A, have a specific subpixel or some specific subpixels (hereinafter referred to as the first subpixel) in the display field a length in the first direction that is greater than a length in the second direction.

[0081] The inventor noticed that the in Fig. The display field shown in Figure 1A exhibits a white light color shift. Through analysis, the inventors found that the main reason for the white light color shift is that the attenuation of light emitted by subpixels of different lengths in different directions varies in different directions, and to take into account the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field and the white light color shift, embodiments of the present disclosure also propose the following solution.

[0082] In some embodiments, which relate to Fig. 4A refers to at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel (e.g. the red subpixel R) in which in Fig. The display field shown in 1A has a cutout RS, and the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel do not have a cutout. Fig. 4A illustrates a case in which both the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the first orthographic projection V1' have the recess RS. In some embodiments relating to Fig. Referring to 4A, the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel are straight edges.

[0083] In such embodiments, the difference between the light attenuation of the first subpixel in the first direction and the second direction can be reduced, so that the white light color shift of the display field can be reduced based on an improvement in the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0084] In other embodiments, according to the Fig. 4A and Fig. 4B at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel in which Fig. In the display field shown in 1A, a recess RS is present, the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel have no recess, and at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the second orthographic projection V2' of the first subpixel in the Fig. The display field shown in 1A has a recess RS. Fig. Figure 4A illustrates a case in which both the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the second orthographic projection V2' have the recess RS.

[0085] In such embodiments, the difference between the light attenuation of the first subpixel in the first direction and the second direction can be further reduced, so that the white light color shift of the display field can be further reduced based on an improvement in the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0086] In further embodiments, which relate to Fig. 4A and Fig. 4C refers to, has at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel in the in Fig. 1A shows a recess RS in the display field, and at least one of the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel in the Fig. The display field shown in 1A has a protrusion PT. Fig. Figure 4C illustrates a case in which both the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' have a projection PT.

[0087] In such embodiments, the difference between the light attenuation of the first subpixel in the first direction and the second direction can be further reduced, so that the white light color shift of the display field can be further reduced based on an improvement in the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0088] In further embodiments relating to the Fig. 4A and Fig. 4D reference, has at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel in the in Fig. 1A shows a recess RS in the display field, the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel in which Fig. The display field shown in 1A has no cutout, and at least one of the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the second orthographic projection V2' of the first subpixel in the Fig. The display field shown in 1A has a PT projection. Fig. 4D illustrates a case in which both the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the second orthographic projection V2' have a projection PT.

[0089] In such embodiments, the difference between the light attenuation of the first subpixel in the first direction and the second direction can be further reduced, so that the white light color shift of the display field can be further reduced based on an improvement in the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0090] In some further embodiments, which relate to Fig. 4A refers to at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel in the in Fig. 1A shows a cutout RS in the display field, the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel have no cutouts, and the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' of the first subpixel have no cutouts or protrusions.

[0091] In some further embodiments, which relate to Fig. Referring to 4B, the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel have no recesses or protrusions, and at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the second orthographic projection V2' of the first subpixel has a recess RS.

[0092] In some further embodiments, which relate to Fig. Referring to 4D, the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' of the first subpixel have no recesses or protrusions, and at least one of the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the second orthographic projection V2' of the first subpixel has a protrusion PT.

[0093] It is understood that in all the above-mentioned embodiments it is possible to reduce the white light color shift of the display field based on an improvement in the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0094] In some embodiments, the plurality of subpixels of the display field comprises a first subpixel, a second subpixel, and a third subpixel configured to emit different colors of light, wherein the first subpixel has a first-direction length-to-second-direction ratio that is greater than the first-direction-to-second-direction ratio of the second subpixel and greater than the first-direction-to-second-direction ratio of the third subpixel. For example, the first subpixel is a red subpixel R, the second subpixel is a blue subpixel B, and the third subpixel is a green subpixel G.

[0095] It should be noted that recess RS and protrusion PT are relative terms in this disclosure, as explained below in conjunction with Fig. 4A and Fig. Illustrated in 4D.

[0096] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 4A, in the case where the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the first orthographic projection V1' have a notch RS and the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' are straight edges, the distance between the notch RS and the edge of the second orthographic projection V2' is greater than or equal to the distance between each of the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' and the edge of the second orthographic projection V2'.

[0097] As in Fig. As shown in 4D, in the case where the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the second orthographic projection V2' are straight edges and the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 have a projection PT, the distance between the projection PT and the edge of the first orthographic projection V1' is greater than or equal to the distance between each of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the second orthographic projection V2 and the edge of the second orthographic projection V2'.

[0098] Fig. 5A and Fig. Figure 5B are schematic representations illustrating the structure of a display field according to some other embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0099] The following only highlights the differences between Fig. 5A and Fig. 1A highlighted, other similarities can be found in the description above.

[0100] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 5A, the second light modulation sublayer 142 comprises, in addition to a first light modulation section 1421 arranged in each of the second openings V2, a second light modulation section 1422. The second light modulation section 1422 is arranged on the side of the first light modulation section 1421 and the first light modulation sublayer 141 facing away from the substrate plate 11 and is adjacent to the first light modulation section 1421. In some embodiments, the first light modulation section 1421 and the second light modulation section 1422 are formed integrally.

[0101] Furthermore, the light modulation layer 14 comprises a third light modulation sublayer 143, which is arranged on a side of the first light modulation sublayer 141 and the second light modulation sublayer 142 facing away from the substrate plate 11. The refractive index of the third light modulation sublayer 143 is lower than the refractive index of the second light modulation sublayer 1422.

[0102] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 5B, the first light modulation section 1421 and the second light modulation section 1422 each comprise an opposing first surface S1 and a second surface S2, as well as an opposing third surface S3 and a fourth surface S4. In both the first light modulation section 1421 and the second light modulation section 1422, the second surface S2 is located on the side of the first surface S1 facing away from the substrate plate 11, and the third surface S3 and the fourth surface S4 each adjoin the first surface S1 and the second surface S2, respectively. It is understood that the second surface S2 of the Fig. The first light modulation section 1421 shown in 5B is in partial contact with the first surface S1 of the second light modulation section 1422.

[0103] A first angle θ1 between each of the third surface S3 and the fourth surface S4 of the second light modulation section 1422 and the first surface S1 of the second light modulation section 1422 is less than 90 degrees.

[0104] The propagation of light from the in Fig. The display field shown in 5A is described below in conjunction with the one shown in Fig. Light B1, B2 and B3 shown in 5A was analyzed.

[0105] The light B1 propagates in a direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11 after it has been totally reflected upon striking the interface between the first light modulation section 1421 and the first light modulation sublayer 141.

[0106] The light B2 is totally reflected at the interface between the first light modulation section 1421 and the first light modulation sublayer 141 and then strikes the second light modulation section 1422 and then the third light modulation sublayer 143. Since the refractive index of the third light modulation sublayer 143 is lower than the refractive index of the second light modulation section 1422, the direction of propagation of the light B2 in the third light modulation sublayer 143 is closer to the direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11 than the direction of propagation in the second light modulation section 1422, thus improving the frontal radiation effect of the display field.

[0107] Light B3 does not strike the interface between the first light modulation section 1421 and the first light modulation sublayer 141, but instead passes successively through the first light modulation section 1421 and the second light modulation section 1422 directly into the third light modulation sublayer 143. Similar to light B2, the direction of propagation of light B3 in the third light modulation sublayer 143 is closer to a direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11 than the direction of propagation in the second light modulation section 1422, thus improving the frontal radiation effect of the display field.

[0108] In the above embodiment, the light modulation layer 14 further comprises a third light modulation sublayer 143, and the second light modulation sublayer 142 further comprises a second light modulation section 1422. Such a display field contributes to further improving the frontal radiation effect of the display field.

[0109] In some embodiments, see Fig. 5B, the first angle θ1 is greater than or equal to 60 degrees and less than 90 degrees. If the first angle θ1 lies within this range, the frontal radiation effect of the display field can be further improved.

[0110] For other embodiments, see Fig. 5B, the second angle θ2 between each of the third surface S3 and the fourth surface S4 of the first light modulation section 1421 and the first surface S1 of the first light modulation section 1421 is greater than or equal to 60 degrees and less than or equal to 80 degrees. If the second angle θ2 lies within this range, the frontal radiation effect of the display field can be further improved.

[0111] In further embodiments, the first angle θ1 is greater than or equal to 60 degrees and less than 90 degrees, and the second angle θ2 is greater than or equal to 60 degrees and less than or equal to 80 degrees. In this way, the frontal radiation effect of the display field can be improved even further.

[0112] The inventor notes that this in Fig. The display field shown in Figure 5A also exhibits a white light color shift. Through analysis, the inventors discovered that the main reason for the white light color shift is that the attenuation of light emitted by subpixels of different lengths in different directions varies. To account for the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field and the white light color shift, the first subpixel in the Fig. The display field shown in 5A also corresponds to the several embodiments described above in conjunction with the above description, which are not repeated here.

[0113] In the following, the orthographic projection on the substrate plate 11 of the second light modulation section 1422, to which the subpixel corresponds, is referred to as the third orthographic projection 1422'.

[0114] Fig. 6A and Fig. Figure 6B are schematic representations of a first orthographic projection, a second orthographic projection and a third orthographic projection according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0115] Similar to the first orthographic projection V1' and the second orthographic projection V2', see the Fig. 6A and Fig. 6B, the edges of the third orthographic projection 1422' also include a first edge E1 and a second edge E2, which are opposite each other in a first direction, as well as a third edge E3 and a fourth edge E4, which are opposite each other in a second direction. In the third orthographic projection 1422', the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 each border the first edge E1 and the second edge E2, respectively.

[0116] In the Fig. 6A and Fig. 6B is the part of the edges of the third orthographic projection 1422' located above line L5, a first edge E1; the part of the edges of the third orthographic projection 1422' located below line L6 is a second edge E2; and the parts of the edges of the third orthographic projection 1422' located between line L5 and line L6 are the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4.

[0117] In some embodiments, which relate to the Fig. 4A and Fig. 6A refers to, at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the first orthographic projection V1 of the first subpixel in the in Fig. The display field shown in 5A has a cutout R. Furthermore, at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the third orthographic projection 1422' of the first subpixel in the area shown has a cutout R. Fig. The display field shown in 5A has a recess R. Fig. Figure 6A illustrates a case in which both the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the third orthographic projection 1422' have a notch R.

[0118] In such embodiments, the white light color shift of the display field can be further reduced.

[0119] In other embodiments, which relate to the Fig. 4A and Fig. 6B refers to, at least one of the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 of the first orthographic projection V1 of the first subpixel in the in Fig. 5A shows a recess R in the display field. And at least one of the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the third orthographic projection 1422' of the first subpixel in which in Fig. The display field shown in 5A has a protrusion PT. Fig. Figure 6B illustrates a case in which both the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the third orthographic projection 1422' have a projection PT.

[0120] In such embodiments, the white light color shift of the display field can be further reduced.

[0121] The inventor further notes that the in Fig. The display field shown in Figure 5A also exhibits a yellow-green color shift. Through analysis, the inventor found that the main reason for the yellow-green color shift is that the attenuation of the light emitted by the green subpixel G is slower in the second direction, and to reduce the yellow-green color shift of the display field, the embodiments of the present disclosure also propose the following solution.

[0122] Fig. 7A- Fig. Figure 7C are schematic representations of a first orthographic projection, a second orthographic projection and a third orthographic projection according to other embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0123] In Fig. 7A is the part of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' that lies above line L7, corresponding to the green subpixel G, the first edge E1; the part of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' that is opposite the first edge E1 in the first direction and is located below line L7 is the second edge E2; the parts of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' that are opposite in the second direction and are located below line L7 are the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4.

[0124] Similarly, in Fig. 7B the part of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' lying above the line L8, which corresponds to the green subpixel G, is the first edge E1; the part of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' that is opposite the first edge E1 and below the line L8 in the first direction is the second edge E2; the parts of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' that are opposite and below the line L8 in the second direction are the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4.

[0125] Similarly, in Fig. 7C the part of the edges of the third orthographic projection 1422' lying above line L9, which corresponds to the green subpixel G, is a first edge E1; the part of the edges of the third orthographic projection 1422' that is opposite the first edge E1 in a first direction and is located below line L9 is a second edge E2; and the parts of the edges of the third orthographic projection 1422' that are opposite in the second direction and are located below line L9 are a third edge E3 and a fourth edge E4.

[0126] In some embodiments, which relate to Fig. 7A refers to at least one of the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the first orthographic projection V1' of the green subpixel G in which in Fig. The display field shown in section 5A has a recess RS. This helps to reduce the yellow-green color shift of the display field.

[0127] In other embodiments, which relate to Fig. Referring to 7B, at least one of the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the second orthographic projection V2' of the green subpixel G has a cutout RS. This helps to reduce the yellow-green color shift of the display field.

[0128] In further embodiments, which relate to Fig. Referring to 7C, at least one of the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 of the third orthographic projection 1422' of the green subpixel G has a cutout RS. In this way, it helps to reduce the yellow-green light color shift of the display field.

[0129] It goes without saying that the ones in the Fig. 7A- Fig. The embodiments shown in 7C can be combined to further reduce the yellow-green light color shift of the display field.

[0130] Fig. 8A - Fig. Figures 8C are schematic representations showing the structure of a display field according to some further embodiments of the present disclosure. Fig. 8A - Fig. Arrows in 8C indicate the direction of light propagation.

[0131] As in Fig. 8A - Fig. As shown in Figure 8C, the display field comprises a substrate plate 11, a pixel boundary layer 12, and an encapsulation layer 13. In some embodiments, the display field also comprises a module layer 15. The module layer 15 comprises, for example, a contact layer, a polarization layer, and a cover plate, arranged sequentially on a side of the encapsulation layer 13 facing away from the substrate plate 11.

[0132] Substrate plate 11 can, for example, be a glass substrate. Another example for substrate plate 11 could be a flexible substrate, e.g., a PI substrate, etc.

[0133] The pixel boundary layer 12 is arranged on one side of the substrate plate 11 and has a plurality of first openings V1 to delimit a plurality of subpixels, the plurality of first openings V1 corresponding one-to-one with the plurality of subpixels. For example, the plurality of subpixels includes a red subpixel R, a green subpixel G, and a blue subpixel B.

[0134] It goes without saying that the display field also contains other items, in Fig. 8A may include components not shown, such as a plurality of pixel driver circuits and a planarization layer covering the plurality of pixel driver circuits.

[0135] The encapsulation layer 13 is located on a side of the pixel boundary layer 12 facing away from the substrate plate 11. The encapsulation layer 13 comprises a first inorganic layer 131, a second inorganic layer 132, an organic layer 133, and at least one first optical structure 134. In some embodiments, the material of the first inorganic layer 131 comprises silicon oxynitride, and the material of the second inorganic layer 132 comprises silicon nitride.

[0136] The organic layer 133 is arranged between the first inorganic layer 131 and the second inorganic layer 132, and each first optical structure 134 is arranged between the first inorganic layer 131 and the organic layer 133.

[0137] The refractive index of each first optical structure 134 is greater than the refractive index of the organic layer 133. In some embodiments, each first optical structure 134 has a refractive index of 1.65 to 1.95, e.g., 1.7, 1.8, 1.85, and the like. In some embodiments, the organic layer 133 has a refractive index of 1.4 to 1.6, e.g., 1.5, 1.55, and the like.

[0138] In some embodiments, each first optical structure 134 comprises an organic body 1341. In some embodiments, the material of the body 1341 comprises an organic polymer. In some embodiments, the body 1341 has a thickness of 2 micrometers to 4 micrometers, e.g., 2.5 micrometers, 3 micrometers, 3.5 micrometers, and the like.

[0139] In some embodiments, the first optical structure 134 can have an inverted trapezoidal, isosceles trapezoidal or rectangular cross-section.

[0140] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 8A, the first optical structure 134 has an inverted trapezoidal cross-section. Since, in this case, the refractive index of the first optical structure 134 is greater than the refractive index of the organic layer 133, some of the light undergoes total internal reflection when it strikes the interface between the refractive index of the first optical structure 134 and the organic layer 133. The direction of propagation of the totally reflected light in the organic layer 133 is closer to the direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11 than the direction of propagation in the first optical structure 134, thereby improving the frontal radiation effect of the display field.

[0141] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 8B, the first optical structure 134 has a rectangular cross-section. Since the refractive index of the first optical structure 134 is greater than that of the organic layer 133, the direction of propagation of the light in the organic layer 133 is closer to the direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11 than the direction of propagation in the first optical structure 134, thus improving the frontal radiation effect of the display field.

[0142] As in Fig. As shown in 8C, the first optical structure 134 has an isosceles trapezoidal cross-section. Since in this case, similar to that in Fig. 8B, since the refractive index of the first optical structure 134 is greater than the refractive index of the organic layer 133, the direction of propagation of the light in the organic layer 133 is closer to the direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11 than the direction of propagation in the first optical structure 134, thereby improving the frontal radiation effect of the display field.

[0143] It should be noted that the first optical structures appeared in 134 in the Fig. Although 8A to 8C are all arranged in the recess RP on a side of the first inorganic layer 131 facing away from the substrate plate 11, this does not represent a limitation. In some embodiments, the first optical structures 134 can be arranged in areas other than the recess RP on the side of the first inorganic layer 131 facing away from the substrate plate 111. In some embodiments, the first optical structure 134 is integrally formed with the first inorganic layer 131. It becomes clear that the first optical structure 134 is similar to that in the Fig. 8A to 8C also contribute to improving the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0144] In the above embodiment, a first optical structure 134 is provided between the first inorganic layer 131 and the organic layer 133. This helps to improve the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0145] Fig. Figure 9 is a schematic representation showing the structure of a display field according to some further embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0146] In some embodiments, such as in Fig. As shown in Figure 9, each of the first optical structures 134 further comprises inorganic nanostructures 1342 arranged within the organic body 1341. In this way, it contributes to increasing the refractive index of the first optical structures 134, which further improves the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0147] It should be noted that in Fig. 9 inorganic nanostructures 1342 in an organic body 1341 only by example of Fig. 8C are shown. It is understood that inorganic nanostructures 1342 are also present in the Fig. 8A and Fig. The organic bodies shown in 8B may be arranged in 1341.

[0148] In some embodiments, the body 1341 has a refractive index of 1.5 to 1.6 and the nanostructures have a refractive index of 2 to 2.2. In this way, the refractive index of the first optical structure 134 can be brought into a suitable range, which further contributes to improving the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0149] In some embodiments, the nanostructure 1342 comprises at least one of nanoparticles and nanowires. For example, the nanostructure 1342 contains only nanoparticles; in another example, the nanostructure 1342 contains only nanowires; and in yet another example, the nanostructure 1342 contains both nanoparticles and nanowires.

[0150] In some embodiments, the material of nanostructure 1342 comprises at least one of zirconium oxide and titanium oxide. For example, nanostructure 1342 contains nanoparticles of zirconium oxide and nanoparticles of titanium oxide.

[0151] In some embodiments, each of the first optical structures 134 also includes a photosensitizer. The photosensitizer material comprises, for example, a material that can be cured by UV light, such as an organic polymer material or the like. In this way, it contributes to the curing of the first optical structures 134.

[0152] Fig. 10 is a schematic partial view of the in Fig. displayed display field.

[0153] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 10, the first optical structure 134, in a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the substrate plate 11, comprises the first surface S1 and second surface S2 opposite each other, as well as the third surface S3 and fourth surface S4 opposite each other. In the first optical structure 134, the second surface S2 is located on the side of the first surface S1 facing away from the substrate plate 11, and each of the third surface S3 and the fourth surface S4 adjoins the first surface S1 and the second surface S2, respectively. In some embodiments, at least one of the third surface S3 and the fourth surface S4 can be curved.

[0154] In some embodiments, the angle γ between each of the third surface S3 and the fourth surface S4 and the surface of the substrate plate 11 lies in a region consisting of a first region and a second region, wherein the first region is greater than or equal to 60 degrees and less than or equal to 90 degrees, and the second region is greater than or equal to 100 degrees and less than or equal to 120 degrees. That is, the angle γ is greater than or equal to 60 degrees and less than or equal to 90 degrees, or the angle γ is greater than or equal to 100 degrees and less than or equal to 120 degrees.

[0155] If the angle γ lies within the first or second range described above, this contributes to a further improvement in the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0156] In some embodiments, the second surface S2 of the first optical structure 134 is parallel to the surface of the substrate plate 11, i.e., parallel within the range of process deviations. In other words, the second surface S2 of the first optical structure 134 is a plane parallel to the surface of the substrate plate 11. This prevents light emitted from the subpixels perpendicular to the substrate plate 11 from being deflected in a direction that deviates from the direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11, thus further improving the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0157] In some embodiments, see Fig. 8C, Fig. 9 and Fig. 10, a side of the first inorganic layer 131 facing away from the substrate plate 11 has a plurality of depressions RP which correspond one-to-one with the plurality of first openings V1, wherein each of the first optical structures 134 corresponds one-to-one with each of the depressions RP and each of the first optical structures 134 is at least partially arranged in a corresponding depression RP.

[0158] In some embodiments, see Fig. 10, each first optical structure 134 comprises a first section 134a arranged in a corresponding depression RP and a second section 134b arranged outside the corresponding depression RP, wherein an orthographic projection of the first section 134a on the substrate plate 11 lies within an orthographic projection of the second section 134b on the substrate plate 11.

[0159] In some embodiments, the orthographic projection of the first section 134a on the substrate plate 11 coincides exactly with the orthographic projection of the second section 134b on the substrate plate 11.

[0160] In other embodiments, the area of the orthographic projection of the first section 134a onto the substrate plate 11 is smaller than the area of the orthographic projection of the second section 134b onto the substrate plate 11. In this way, the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field can be improved.

[0161] In the following, the orthographic projection of each first optical structure 134 on the substrate plate 11 is referred to as the fourth orthographic projection 134', the orthographic projection of the first aperture V1 corresponding to each first optical structure 134 on the substrate plate 11 is referred to as the first orthographic projection V1', and the area in which the fourth orthographic projection 134' and the first orthographic projection V1' overlap is referred to as the first area A1.

[0162] In some embodiments, at least one of the fourth orthographic projection 134' and the first orthographic projection V1' comprises a first region A1 and a second region A2, excluding the first region A1. For example, the fourth orthographic projection 134' comprises a first region A1 that overlaps with the first orthographic projection V1' and a second region A2 that does not overlap with the first orthographic projection V1'; and for example, the first orthographic projection V1' comprises a first region A1 that overlaps with the fourth orthographic projection 134' and a second region A2 that does not overlap with the fourth orthographic projection 134'.

[0163] Fig. 11A and Fig. Figure 11B are schematic representations of a first orthographic projection and a third orthographic projection according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0164] In some embodiments, such as in Fig. As shown in Figure 11A, the fourth orthographic projection 134' comprises a first region A1 that overlaps with the first orthographic projection V1', and a second region A2 that does not overlap with the first orthographic projection V1'. The portion of the edges of the fourth orthographic projection 134' that overlaps with the second region A2 of the fourth orthographic projection 134' is the first edge E1; the portion of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' that overlaps with the first region A1 is the second edge E2; and the minimum distance d1 between the first edge E1 and the second edge E2 is less than or equal to 3 micrometers. For example, d1 is 0 micrometers, 1 micrometer, 2 micrometers, and so on.

[0165] In the above embodiment, the minimum distance d1 is less than or equal to 3 micrometers. This allows for a better improvement in the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0166] In other embodiments, such as in Fig. As shown in Figure 11B, the first orthographic projection V1' comprises a first region A1 that overlaps with the fourth orthographic projection 134', and a second region A2 that does not overlap with the fourth orthographic projection 134'. The portion of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' that overlaps with the second region A2 of the first orthographic projection V1' is a third edge E3; the portion of the edges of the fourth orthographic projection 134' that overlaps with the first region A1 is a fourth edge E4; and a minimum distance d2 between the third edge E3 and the fourth edge E4 is less than or equal to 1 micrometer, such as 0 micrometers, 0.5 micrometers, and the like.

[0167] In the above embodiment, the minimum distance d2 is less than or equal to 1 micrometer. This allows for a better improvement in the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0168] It should be noted that although the in Fig. The first orthographic projection V1' shown in Figure 11A is completely arranged within the fourth orthographic projection 134' and is located in Fig. The fact that the fourth orthographic projection 134' shown in Figure 11B is entirely within the first orthographic projection V1' is not restrictive. In some embodiments, the first orthographic projection V1' may also be partially within the fourth orthographic projection 134' and partially outside it; the fourth orthographic projection 134' may also be partially within the first orthographic projection V1' and partially outside it. In this case, both the first orthographic projection V1' and the fourth orthographic projection 134' encompass the second region A.

[0169] Fig. 12A and Fig. Figure 12B are schematic representations illustrating the structure of a display field according to some further embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0170] In contrast to the one in Fig. The embodiment shown in 8C includes the one described in Fig. 12A and Fig. The display field shown in 12B also includes a first light modulation layer 14, which is arranged on the side of the encapsulation layer 13 facing away from the substrate plate 11.

[0171] The first light modulation layer 14 comprises a first light modulation sublayer 141 and a second light modulation sublayer 142, wherein the second light modulation sublayer 142 has a refractive index greater than the refractive index of the first light modulation sublayer 141.

[0172] The first light modulation sublayer 141 has at least one second aperture V2 that corresponds one-to-one with the at least one subpixel. The second light modulation sublayer 142 comprises a first light modulation section 1421 that is arranged in each of the second apertures V2. For example, see Fig. In 12A, the first light modulation sublayer 141 has only one second aperture V2, which corresponds to a subpixel. See also, for example, Fig. 12B, the first light modulation sublayer 141 has a plurality of second apertures V2, wherein the plurality of second apertures V2 corresponds one-to-one with a plurality of subpixels.

[0173] The first light modulation layer 14 is configured such that the light from each of the at least one subpixel propagates in one direction away from the substrate plate 11 after being totally reflected upon striking the interface between the first light modulation section 1421 in the corresponding second aperture V2 and the first light modulation sublayer 141. For example, the Fig. 12A and Fig. 12B, that the light from the blue subpixel B propagates in a direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11, after it has been totally reflected upon striking the interface between the first light modulation section 1421 in the corresponding second aperture V2 and the first light modulation sublayer 141.

[0174] In the above embodiment, the display field comprises both the first optical structure 134 and the first light modulation layer 14. In this way, the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field can be further improved.

[0175] In some embodiments, the angle δ between the surface of the first light modulation section 1421, located away from the substrate plate 11, and the first light modulation sublayer 141 is greater than or equal to 60 degrees and less than or equal to 80 degrees, e.g., δ is 65 degrees, 70 degrees, and the like. This further improves the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0176] In some embodiments, see Fig. 12A and Fig. 12B, the second light modulation sublayer 142 further comprises a section 1422, which is arranged on a side of the first light modulation sublayer 141 and the first light modulation section 1421 facing away from the substrate plate 11. For example, the refractive index of this section 1422 is the same as the refractive index of the first light modulation section 1421.

[0177] In some embodiments, the requirements in Fig. 12A and Fig. The display fields shown in Figure 12B meet at least one of the first and second conditions described above, so that the frontal radiation efficiency of the display fields can be further improved.

[0178] For example, at least part of the edges of the first orthographic projection V1' on the substrate plate 11 of the corresponding first aperture V1 of each of the at least one subpixel of the in the Fig. 12A and Fig. The display field shown in 12B has a recess RS. Similarly, for example, at least part of the edges of the second orthographic projection V2' on the substrate plate 11 of the corresponding second opening V2 of each of the at least one subpixel of the in the Fig. 12A and Fig. The display field shown in Figure 12B has at least one recess RS and a projection PT. Also, for example, at least part of the interface between the first light modulation section 1421 and the first light modulation sublayer 141 is not planar.

[0179] In some embodiments, each subpixel in the display field that has both the corresponding first aperture V1 and the second aperture V2 is a blue subpixel B, as shown in Fig. Figure 12A shows this. In other words, only the light emitted by the blue subpixel B propagates in a direction perpendicular to the substrate plate 11 after it has undergone total internal reflection upon striking the interface between the first light modulation section 1421 in the corresponding second aperture V2 and the first light modulation sublayer 141; the light emitted by the red subpixel R and the green subpixel G strikes the first light modulation sublayer 141 directly after passing through the encapsulation layer 13, and does not strike the first light modulation section 1421 first and then the first light modulation sublayer 141. In this way, the radiative efficiency of the display field and the white light color shift can be taken into account.

[0180] Fig. 13A- Fig. Figure 13C are schematic representations showing the structure of a display field according to some further embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0181] In contrast to the one in Fig. The embodiment shown in 8C includes the one described in Fig. 13A - Fig. The display field shown in 13C additionally has a second light modulation layer 16.

[0182] The second light modulation layer 16 is arranged on a side of the encapsulation layer 13 facing away from the substrate plate 11. The second light modulation layer 16 comprises a fourth light modulation sublayer 161 and at least one second optical structure 162. Each of the second optical structures 162 is arranged between the encapsulation layer 13 and the fourth light modulation sublayer 161, and each of the second optical structures 162 has a refractive index greater than that of the fourth light modulation sublayer 161. In some embodiments, an orthographic projection of the second optical structure 162 onto the substrate plate overlaps at least partially with the first orthographic projection V1'.

[0183] In some embodiments, the second light modulation layer 16 also comprises a fifth light modulation sublayer 163, which is arranged between the second optical structure 162 and the encapsulation layer 13.

[0184] In some embodiments, the fifth light modulation sublayer 163 and the second optical structure 162 are provided as a single piece. For example, the material of both the fifth light modulation sublayer 163 and the second optical structure 162 is an inorganic material. In some embodiments, the second optical structure 162 can be produced by etching (e.g., by plasma etching) the fifth light modulation sublayer 163.

[0185] In other embodiments, the material of the fifth light modulation sublayer 163 can be an inorganic material, while the second optical structure 162 comprises an organic body.

[0186] It should be noted that the above description of the first optical structure 134 also applies to the second optical structure 162 and is not repeated here.

[0187] In some embodiments, see Fig. 13B and Fig. 13C, the display field includes both the first light modulation layer 14 and the second light modulation layer 16, thereby further improving the frontal radiation efficiency of the display field.

[0188] In some embodiments, see Fig. 13C, the first inorganic layer 131 and the first optical structure 134 are provided as a single piece.

[0189] Fig. Figure 14 is a schematic representation showing the structure of a display field according to some further embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0190] In contrast to the one in Fig. The embodiment shown in Figure 8C comprises the encapsulation layer 13 in the Fig. In the display field shown in Figure 14, a third inorganic layer 135 is provided in addition to the first inorganic layer 131, the second inorganic layer 132, the organic layer 133, and the at least one first optical structure 134. The third inorganic layer 135 is arranged between the at least one first optical structure 134 and the organic layer 133. In some embodiments, the material of the third inorganic layer 135 comprises an oxide of silicon (e.g., silicon oxide) or a nitrogen oxide of silicon (e.g., silicon oxynitride).

[0191] In the above embodiment, the third inorganic layer 135 in the encapsulation layer 13 contributes to improving the performance of the interface between the first optical structure 134 and the organic layer 133, reducing the surface tension of the interface and thereby reducing the adverse effects on the display effect of the display field due to the interface.

[0192] In some embodiments, the first optical structure 134 is not in contact with the organic layer 133. In this way, any adverse effect of the interface between the first optical structure 134 and the organic layer 133 on the display effect of the display field can be further reduced.

[0193] In some embodiments, the display field with the first optical structure 134 can also be used to adjust the white light color shift of the display field in the Fig. 4A- Fig. The way shown in 4D is reduced, which is not repeated here.

[0194] In some embodiments, the display field with the first optical structure 134 can also be used to adjust the yellow-green light color shift of the display field in the Fig. 7A- Fig. to reduce in the manner shown in 7C, which is not repeated here.
