Fracture detection device and computer-readable storage medium

Abstract

This fracture detection device: obtains samples of the value of the load applied to a shaft of a machine tool; determines whether the samples were captured during a cutting time period or during a non-cutting time period; calculates a probability density function of the samples during the non-cutting time period; calculates a feature value of the samples during the cutting time period; and determines a tool fracture based on the probability of occurrence of the feature value in the probability density function for the non-cutting time period.
