Description

Technical FieldThe invention relates to a system for touch-dependent control of a microphone. In particular, by means of detecting changes in capacitance at the microphone housing, it is determined whether a touch is present in order to subsequently switch the audio signal or influence its level.Prior ArtSystems for controlling microphones via mechanical switches or buttons are known. However, these do not offer any intuitive, contactless or automatic control capability without additional interventions by the user. Detection directly via the contact of the microphone housing for switching control has not been known up to now.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe object of the invention is to provide a simple, intuitively operable solution for controlling a microphone, which requires no mechanical operating elements and is nevertheless flexibly adjustable. This object is achieved by a system for detecting the touching of a microphone, in which changes in capacitance of the microphone housing are detected. An evaluation unit analyzes these changes and forwards the signal to a control unit. This then switches the microphone on or off or changes its level. The control parameters such as sensitivity, switching times or level values are either permanently set or can be changed via switches, push buttons, potentiometers or an app.The system may be integrated as a stand-alone unit in an XLR interposer or in a housing, or directly integrated in the microphone housing or in a cable connector. The voltage is supplied selectively via a battery, battery, a corresponding connection, or via the phantom feed from a mixing console.

Claims

A system for detecting the touching of a microphone, comprising: - an evaluation unit which detects changes in capacitance of the microphone housing, - a control unit which analyzes the detected changes in capacitance and, on the basis thereof, switches on or off the microphone signal or changes the level thereof.System according to claim 1, characterised bythe possibility of changing the settings for times, sensitivity and levels either via switches, push buttons, potentiometers, jumpers or via an app.The system of claim 1, wherein the controller is configured off-the-factoryThe system according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the voltage supply is effected via a battery, a battery, a corresponding connection, or via the phantom feed of a mixing console. The system according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the evaluation and control unit is integrated in an XLR plug. The system according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the evaluation and control unit is integrated in a microphone housing. The system according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the evaluation and control unit is integrated in a plug of a microphone cable. The system according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the evaluation and control unit is integrated in an independent housing.
