Description

[0001] The invention relates to a cordless heated tweezers that a dentist can use to more gently remove old dental crowns from the patient's mouth.

[0002] Dentists typically grind old dental crowns out of the mouth under cooling. Materials such as stainless steel and gold alloys, which are used to grind old dental crowns, are very good heat conductors and can even reach temperatures of 600-800 degrees Celsius for a short time during grinding. The new material zirconium, which has been used for dental crowns in recent years, also develops quite high temperatures.

[0003] The cordless heated tweezers made of stainless steel 1 to Fig. 1, in this medical case made of surgical steel, offers the patient and the dentist a painless and elegant way to remove the old crown from the mouth without grinding it out. Grinding out is considerably more laborious and painful, and could also damage the dental nerve (pulp) more quickly.

[0004] The tweezers briefly reach a temperature of approximately 80-100 degrees Celsius, which is sufficient to loosen the cement that bonds the crown to the tooth stump without damaging the dental nerve.

[0005] The tweezers have a practical power button 2 after Fig. 1 to reach the desired temperature. It can be opened up to 12 mm 3 after Fig. 1, to grasp even larger dental crowns. It should not be possible to open it too wide to allow a stable grip for the dentist. The tweezers also have a serrated tip 4 Fig. 1 to minimize slipping on the smooth crown. The tip is also slightly curved inwards 5 to Fig. 1, to adapt to the rounded anatomical shape of the dental crown that needs to be extracted. The tweezers are cordless, allowing the dentist to work freely.
