[0005] A nursing home uses a preconfigured PAD device with an intuitive user interface. Staff can select desired items from a customized assortment by tapping. The order is saved locally and automatically transferred to the central system when a Wi-Fi connection is available. The administration checks and confirms the order via a central management interface. The warehouse automatically receives the order on a designated screen. Recurring products can be defined by the customer as a recurring delivery. If the PAD is lost, there is no security vulnerability, as it only functions with the assigned customer profile.

Claims

[1] System for order processing in care facilities, comprising a portable PAD terminal with a user interface, wherein the device records orders offline, stores them locally and transmits them to a central system if a WLAN connection is available. [2] The system of claim 1, wherein the PAD terminal is uniquely assigned to an individual customer such that no password or login is required for use. [3] System according to one of the preceding claims, wherein each customer is assigned an individual product catalogue which is visible exclusively to that customer. [4] System according to one of the preceding claims, wherein each customer is assigned individual pricing structures for the products contained in the catalogue. [5] System according to one of the preceding claims, comprising a continuous delivery function which enables automatic, recurring ordering of predefined products at regular intervals. [6] System according to one of the preceding claims, which additionally offers a web-based access option (VIP system), wherein both PAD and web accesses access the same central database. [7] System according to one of the preceding claims, which enables the display of past orders and a reorder function based thereon. [8] System according to one of the preceding claims, which has a direct integration with an internal administration system and a warehouse management system, wherein orders are automatically forwarded after release and displayed for picking.
