[0001] Musculoskeletal disorders can lead not only to orthopedic problems but also to functional impairments of internal organs and soft tissues. Correcting body posture through targeted elevations in the shoe can, in many cases, improve posture and movement coordination.
[0002] Current technology typically involves custom-made insoles, which don't always fit. Insoles that create extra space in the foot can conflict with the intended "foot space" and don't fit in all shoes; they are expensive to manufacture and often require multiple adjustments. Patients have limited options for experimenting and finding an optimal configuration themselves.
[0003] The current state of the art also involves a shoe orthopedist attaching a shoe lift directly to the sole. This is unsightly, irreversible if it doesn't fit, and not adjustable to the wearer's activity level as medically recommended.
