Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cartridge system for dispensing pasty, two-component masses, having two cylinders arranged parallel to one another, which are configured to each accommodate a component, an outlet opening common to both cylinders, a cover configured to selectively open or close the outlet opening, wherein the cover can be fixed in its closed position in front of the outlet opening, and a dispensing assembly, which has the following elements: two plungers, one of which extends in each case into one of the two cylinders, a pressure plate, which connects the two plungers to one another at their ends remote from the cylinder, and a counter plate arranged on the cylinders.Cartridge systems of this type, also referred to as dual cartridges, are known from practice. They are used, for example, for applying and metering two-component adhesives or sealing compounds, in which one component is the hardener for the other component, for example a resin, located in the other cylinder. The two cylinders can have different diameters, so that with the same stroke of the two connected rams the two components are discharged from the common outlet opening in a predetermined mixing ratio. In comparison with the so-called euro cartridges, which are provided for one-component materials, have a single cylinder and are clamped into a press gun, the cartridge systems of the generic type have a smaller capacity of, for example, 50 to 100 ml and are actuated directly by hand. In this case, for example, a thumb of the pressure plate, which connects the two plungers to one another, bears against it, and two fingers engage behind the counterplate arranged on the cylinders. The cartridge systems are used in practice for special work with a correspondingly low material consumption of the pasty materials. Often, a portion of the material in the two cylinders is sufficient to perform the respective work. The cover is accordingly frequently first removed from the outlet opening in order to carry out the work and then placed again on the outlet opening in order to close it and prevent the material from drying out and hardening. If the cover is lost or damaged during the execution of the work, a sufficiently tight closure of the outlet opening can subsequently no longer be ensured, so that the material still located in the cylinders spoils unused, which is environmentally and economically disadvantageous. The invention is based on the object of improving a cartridge system of the generic type to the extent that it ensures reliably tight reclosure of the outlet opening when the cover is used several times in succession.Features according to the invention are set out in claim 1. Embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims. The invention thus proposes that the cartridge system has a holder which is configured to hold the cover releasing the outlet opening on the cartridge system. Although the cover has been removed from the outlet opening, it is still or even again held on the cartridge system according to the invention. This prevents the cover from falling down and being unable to be found in an unclear construction site subsurface. It is also excluded that the cover can fall down and be accidentally destroyed or deformed if the cover is inadvertently touched. Rather, after completion of the work, the cover is available undamaged and easily detectable in order to be able to close the outlet opening again, so that the remaining material contained in the cylinders can be stored until its next use without adversely affecting its processability and its material properties. Finally, this ensures that the complete quantity of the pasty masses can be used up and until the end the material contained in the cartridge system can be used as intended. In one embodiment, the holder can be designed as a flexible element, for example as a belt, chain or the like, so that the cover is freely movable in a certain movement space, on the one hand, but remains permanently connected to the rest of the cartridge system, on the other hand, and cannot be lost.In an alternative embodiment to this, the cover is a completely freely movable, separate element which can be removed from the outlet opening and can subsequently be fixed again to the cartridge system by means of the holder. For example, the cover can have a first end, with which it closes the outlet opening, and a second, opposite end. At this opposite end, the cover can have a specific fastening geometry, for example a thread, an element of a bayonet lock or an element of a pushbutton. The complementary thread or the complementary element of the bayonet lock or of the pushbutton is then arranged on the cylinders, the counter plate or another element of the cartridge system, so that the cover can be fixed there until the work has been completed. In one embodiment, the holder has the same fastening geometry, by means of which the cover can be fixed in front of the outlet opening. This is advantageous in two respects: firstly, a particularly secure hold of the cover is ensured since the same geometry ensures a secure, for example airtight, seat of the cover in the region of the outlet opening. Secondly, the end of the cover, which also serves to close the outlet opening, is protected from soiling or other external influences because it interacts with the holder and does not project freely outwards. The holder can be arranged at different locations of the cartridge system. In one configuration, the holder is arranged on the counter plate. This is advantageous in terms of production technology because the counter plate is frequently produced as a separate component, so that a particularly complex geometry of the cylinder assembly, for example, can be avoided, which would have a disadvantageous effect on the production costs of the cartridge system. In one embodiment, the cover and the holder have complementary elements of a bayonet lock. Such a bayonet locking has proven itself in practice in order to fix the cover in front of the outlet opening. In particular, the bayonet locking system represents a possibility of using two narrow arms, which engage behind the associated locking surfaces on the cover. For example, the cover can have a circular circumferential contour, with two inclined surfaces, so that by means of a rotational movement of the cover, the clamping forces between the two arms and the two inclined surfaces become greater and can ensure a secure fixing of the cover even if the holder itself does not have a circular or annular geometry. This is advantageous, for example, if the holder is arranged on the counter plate: in view of the comparatively flat, plate-like configuration of the counter plate, the two mentioned arms can be formed easily by the counter plate by virtue of their width corresponding to the material thickness of the counter plate, so that a secure fixing of the cover can be ensured even if the diameter of the cover is greater than the material thickness of the counter plate. In one embodiment, the two cylinders have a stop, and the counter plate is designed as a separate component which is configured to be placed on the two cylinders and supported on the stop. The configuration of the counter plate as a separate component enables an economically advantageous, as small as possible packaging size of the cartridge system. Before it is put into operation, the counter plate is mounted, for example by being pushed from the outlet opening onto the two cylinders here and pushed as far as the stop. The stop can be designed, for example, as a circumferential collar which extends outwardly projecting around the two cylinders. The cartridge system can have a second holder, and optionally also more than two holders. For example, it may be advantageous to arrange holders at different locations of the cartridge system, so that the respective users of the cartridge system can choose at which location the cover should be held during use of the cartridge system in order not to be an impediment depending on the personal preferences of the respective user and depending on the work to be performed and the spatial conditions prevailing there. The holders can be arranged on the same component or on different components of the cartridge system. For example, on a cylinder and on the counter plate configured as a separate component, however, they can also be arranged on the same component, for example, distributed around the circumference of the counter plate.Such a cartridge system comprising a plurality of holders can be configured such that the second holder has different dimensions than the first holder. Thus, the holders of different sizes can be used to accommodate covers of different sizes. Depending on the configuration of the outlet opening of the cartridge system and the mixing nozzle provided there for the two different components, the covers can have different dimensions, in particular for example different diameters.A cartridge system having a plurality of holders can be configured such that the second holder has a different fastening geometry than the first holder. Thus, the different holders can be used to accommodate different types of covers, which differ with regard to their fastening geometry. For example, one type of cover can be screwed by means of a thread in front of the outlet opening of the cartridge system, and another type of cover can be held, for example, by means of a bayonet lock in front of the outlet opening. The holders can, adapted to these different fastening geometries, in turn provide the respectively complementary thread or bayonet element, so that different covers can be held on the same cartridge system. If, for example, the two or more holders are arranged on the abovementioned counter plate, which is designed as a separate component, such a counter plate can be used with cylinders of different design, the outlet openings of which are designed differently and accordingly require different covers. In this way, different cartridge systems can be produced as inexpensively as possible by using the always same counter plate.Further features, details and advantages of the invention are evident from the wording of the claims and from the following description of an exemplary embodiment on the basis of the purely schematic drawings. The following are shown: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a partially disassembled cartridge system,FIG. 2 shows a view of the components of the cartridge system of FIG. 1 from a different angle of view, FIG. 3 shows a side view of a counter plate of the cartridge system, and FIG. 4 shows a front view of the counter plate of FIG. 3.Fig. 1 shows a cartridge system 1 consisting of four elements. A first element forms two cylinders 2, which each serve to accommodate a material component in the form of a pasty mass and which have different inner diameters and thus different fill volumes. At a first, front end, there is a common outlet opening 3 which has a cylindrical pipe socket 4. At two opposite locations, laterally next to the pipe socket 4, there are two holding arms 5 of a bayonet lock. A contact plate 6 serves firstly for connecting the two cylinders 2 and secondly for supporting a cover when the latter is placed on the pipe socket 4 in a manner closing off the outlet opening.A second element of the cartridge system 1 forms two elongate plungers 7, each having at its first, front end a circular piston 8, the diameters of which correspond to the inner diameters of the two cylinders 2. At their second, rear end, the two plungers 7 are connected to one another by a pressure plate 9.A third element of the cartridge system 1 is designed as a counter plate 10 which abuts a stop, which is not visible in FIG. 1 and is designed as a circumferential collar, which is arranged at the end of the two cylinders 2 opposite the outlet opening 3 and extends radially outwards from the cylinders 2. The counter plate 10 has a central recess so that it can be threaded onto the two cylinders 2 at the end having the outlet opening 3 and slid along the cylinders 2 to the opposite end until it abuts the stop.Furthermore, the counter plate 10 has a finger depression 11 above and below the two cylinders 2, respectively. At its circumferential edge, the counterplate 10 is shaped at a location such that it likewise creates two holding arms 5 lying opposite one another there, similarly to the two holding arms 5 in the region of the outlet opening 3.The two holding arms 5 of the counter plate 10 together with two centering ribs, which will be discussed in more detail below and which are not visible in FIG. 1, form a holder 12 for temporarily securing a cover 13.FIG. 2 shows the cartridge system 1 from a different viewing direction, wherein the plungers 7 have been inserted with their plungers 8 into the two cylinders 2. It can be seen from FIG. 2 that the outlet opening 3 has a separating web 14, so that the two different pasty materials are guided separately from one another as far as into the outlet opening 3, so that they cannot mix and harden. After removal of the cover 13 from the outlet opening 3, a mixing nozzle can be placed on the outlet opening 3, wherein this mixing nozzle is configured to bring about intensive mixing of the two pasty masses flowing through it.FIG. 3 shows the counter plate 10 from the side on which the holder 12 is located. Two centering arches 15 are arranged between the two holding arms 5, so that the cover 13 can be placed on these centering arches 15 in a similar manner to the outlet opening 3. The entire holder 12 is only as thick as the remaining counter plate 10, since neither the holding arms 5 nor the centering arches 15 exceed the plate thickness of the counter plate 10.FIG. 4 shows a front view of the counter plate 10, wherein the configuration of the holder 12 with the holding arms 5 and the centering arches 15 can be seen, as well as the already mentioned recess, through which the counter plate 10 can be threaded onto the two cylinders 2, and which is marked 16 in FIG. 4.The counter plate 10 is produced, as can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4, as a separate component which is placed in favor of the smallest possible parking dimension on the cylinders 2 and rams 7 and is mounted on the cylinders 2 at least before the first use. The counter plate 10 can then remain permanently on the cylinders 2 or it can be removed again from the cylinders 2 after each use of the cartridge system 1, in order to enable the smallest possible stowage dimension of the cartridge system 1, for example in a toolcase. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the counter plate 10 has a substantially rectangular circumferential contour, wherein the holders 12 are located on one of the four sides. In contrast to the exemplary embodiment shown, a second holder 12 can be arranged on one of the other sides of the counter plate 10, wherein one holder 12 can be arranged in each case, if appropriate, on all four sides. The holders 12 can be designed identically in order to allow users to choose where the cover 13 is to be held advantageously depending on their personal preferences. Alternatively, the holders 12 can be designed differently in order to be able to accommodate different covers 13, for example covers of different sizes of the same type, or also different cover types, for example covers, which differ in that they are held in front of the outlet opening 3 on the one hand by means of a thread or on the other hand by means of a bayonet closure. The invention is not limited to one of the above-described embodiments, but can be modified in many ways. All features and advantages which emerge from the claims, the description and the drawing, including structural details, spatial arrangements and method steps, can be essential to the invention both individually and in a wide variety of combinations.List of reference characters1 Cartridge system 2 Cylinder 3 Outlet opening 4 Pipe socket 5 Holding arm 6 Contact plate 7 Plunger 8 Piston 9 Pressure plate 10 Counter plate 11 Finger depression 12 Holder 13 Cover 14 Separating web 15 Centring arch 16 Cutout
