Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a device for warding off birds of prey in the area of a bulk material, in particular in the area of the extraction cut of a bulk material made of plant matter in agriculture, comprising at least one crow net.
[0002] For agricultural purposes, bulks of plant materials are regularly formed, for example to store feed for pets or to store raw materials for biogas plants.
[0003] In both cases, the plant material is protected against attacks by birds of prey, such as crows or starlings. Sheets and crow nets are laid on top of the material and weighted down, for example, with old car tires.
[0004] Especially in biogas plants, plant material is gradually extracted from the feedstock. At one end of the feedstock, a section of the liner is removed, and then the required amount of plant material is cut off using technical equipment. This creates an access point where the plant material is readily available to birds. Over the course of a year, these birds can consume a considerable amount of plant material, thus removing it from the market. Furthermore, the droppings left by the birds at the access point pose a problem if the plant material is intended for animal feed.
[0005] Particularly with the foils and crow nets present on the bulk material, it is not possible to achieve a sufficient seal of the extraction cut.
[0006] The invention is based on the objective of demonstrating a device of the aforementioned type with which a reliable defense against birds of prey is ensured, particularly in the area of the cutting of a pile of plant material.
[0007] This problem is solved according to the invention by the fact that the crow net is mounted on at least one grid.
[0008] In the device according to the invention, the crow net is not present as loose material. Rather, it is stretched over a grid, thus covering the entire surface of the grid. The grid with the crow net forms an impenetrable barrier for predatory birds; the grid also advantageously makes the device easy to handle.
[0009] The grid with the attached crow net can be placed at the edge of the fill to protect it effectively against attacks by birds of prey.
[0010] According to a first further development of the invention, the mesh is provided by at least one section of construction fence. Construction fences, and thus sections of construction fence, can be manufactured in large numbers relatively inexpensively using a standardized process. Since they consist of surrounding metal tubes and a mesh sandwiched between the metal tubes, they possess the necessary stability to support the crow netting and to be handled in agricultural applications.
[0011] Preferably, the fence is constructed from three sections of construction fencing connected to each other at their abutting surfaces. Three sections are placed side by side and joined to form a longer fence. The middle section, for example, can be 2 meters wide, while the two lateral sections flanking this middle section each have a width of approximately 2.50 meters. This results in a total fence approximately 7 meters wide, corresponding to the distance between the walls of a drive-over silo for holding the bulk material, thus covering the entire width of the bulk material from one wall to the other.
[0012] A further embodiment of the invention provides that a closed and flat surface section is arranged in the upper area of the grid when the grid is erected. This flat surface section serves to allow agricultural equipment, such as a wheel loader, to be positioned against the grid for transport purposes. The wheel loader's bucket is then not inserted into a section of the construction fence; instead, the bucket can abut the flat and closed surface section.
[0013] Furthermore, it is provided that at least two yoke sections are assigned to the surface section in the edge area of the grid, each projecting outwards on both sides of the grid. The bucket of a wheel loader can be brought up to the surface section and then lifted, at which point it is guided against these projecting yoke sections. These are preferably hook-shaped so that the yoke sections can engage with the leading edge of, for example, the wheel loader's bucket, thus enabling the grid as a whole to be moved.
[0014] The device according to the invention can also be used for fill materials placed on a flat surface without walls. If the cut edge of this fill is still small, the grid can be placed at an angle onto the fill in the area of the cut edge. In this case, the grid has strand-shaped closing elements on its side edges. These can be designed as chains made of plastic. They close the lateral opening of the flat grid when it is placed at such an angle onto the fill.
[0015] If the fill material has already been cut in such a way that the cut area is the same height as the grid, then the plastic chains are no longer needed. The grid is placed flush against the cut, and with the projecting yoke sections on both sides, it can be laid on top of the fill material in the area of the cut edge.
[0016] To further develop the invention, reinforcing profiles can be inserted into the grid, which in particular stabilize a grid consisting of three sections of construction fence connected together. The flat area intended for the attachment of the wheel loader can be formed from at least one fiber-reinforced plate. This plate possesses the necessary robustness for the wheel loader attachment.
[0017] An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows: Fig. 1: a side view of a device according to the invention for repelling birds of prey, Fig. 2: a side view of the device according to Fig. 1, Fig. 3: A schematic side view of the use of the device according to the invention. Fig. 1. In the case of a silo on a flat surface without walls and Fig. 4: Another schematic side view of the use of the device according to the invention Fig. 3 when the silo is advanced.
[0018] The in Fig. The device shown in Figure 1 is essentially designed as a rectangular grid. The grid consists of a central construction fence section 1 and two side construction fence sections 2. The construction fence sections 1 and 2 are connected to each other at their butt joints, and reinforcing profiles 3 are additionally incorporated into the grid.
[0019] All sections of the construction fence 1 and 2 are covered with a crow net 4, which is stretched over the mesh. Like ordinary construction fences, sections 1 and 2 consist of surrounding pipes and a mesh screen sandwiched between the pipes.
[0020] In the Fig. In the upper area of the grid, a flat surface section 5, for example made of a fiber-reinforced material, is arranged. The surface section 5 is firmly connected to the grid. In addition, two yoke sections 6 are assigned to the edge area of the grid at surface section 5, which project outwards on both sides of the construction fence section 1, see Fig. 2. An agricultural machine can be attached to the flat area section 5 to relocate the grid.
[0021] Fig. Figure 2 shows that the yoke sections 6 are hook-shaped, so that they can, for example, engage behind the attached bucket of a wheel loader. The surface section 5 is attached to the grid on one side.
[0022] The fill 7 in Fig. 3 is applied to a flat surface 8 without silo walls. On the in Fig. On the left side, the fill 7 has a cut-out 9. The grid of the device according to the invention, with the construction fence sections 1, 2, is brought into contact with the cut-out 9 in such a way that the grid rests obliquely on the ground 8 and rests on top of the fill 7 with a yoke section 6. This provides protection against birds of prey in the area of the grid; for covering the side areas, the device according to the invention has strand-shaped closing elements 10 on the side edges of the grid.
[0023] These strand-shaped closing elements 10 hang in a larger cross-section 9 of the bulk material 7 in Fig. 4. The grid of the device according to the invention is placed directly against the gate 9 of the bulk material 7. The yoke support 6 is now placed on the upper surface of the bulk material 7. Even with a larger gate 9, it is thus possible to cover the gate 9 with the device according to the invention.
