Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a handle cover for furniture, in particular for cabinet doors and drawers, for covering existing drill holes when replacing furniture handles. State of the art
[0002] It is known in the prior art that furniture handles are manufactured in a wide variety of shapes, dimensions, and hole spacings. When replacing existing handles, new handle models often do not fit the existing holes in cabinet doors or drawer fronts.
[0003] In practice, this regularly leads to the need to replace entire furniture components – especially cabinet doors – even though they are still fully functional. This replacement results in increased costs and unnecessary consumption of materials and resources. Object of the invention
[0004] The object of the present invention is to provide a solution with which existing furniture parts can continue to be used despite differing handle hole drillings, without the need for new cabinet doors or drawer fronts.
[0005] The aim is also to reduce material consumption and to enable a visually unobtrusive adaptation to existing furniture. Solution to the task
[0006] This task is solved by a handle cover plate, which is placed between the furniture surface and the handle and completely covers existing, no longer needed drill holes.
[0007] The handle cover is preferred: • adapted in shape, material and dimensions to the respective handle model, • finished in the original colors of the furniture or handle system, • designed so that it does not impair the function of the handle, • and is integrated into the overall look of the furniture in a visually unobtrusive way.
[0008] The handle cover can be designed for different hole spacings, handle sizes and furniture types, and can be used for both new and existing furniture. Advantages of the invention
[0009] By using the handle cover according to the invention, existing furniture parts can continue to be used, even if new handles have different mounting dimensions.
[0010] This leads to: • a significant saving of wood and other materials, • a reduction in waste, • cost savings for the end user, • as well as a sustainable expansion of the product portfolio for furniture and handle manufacturers.
[0011] The invention thus represents a resource-saving, economically sensible and practical solution for replacing furniture handles. Exemplary embodiments of the invention. Exemplary embodiment 1: Flat handle cover with central through-openings.
[0012] In a first embodiment, the handle cover is designed as a flat, essentially rectangular component.
[0013] The handle cover plate has two through-holes designed to accommodate the mounting screws of a furniture handle. The dimensions of the handle cover plate are chosen to completely cover existing drill holes from a previously installed handle assembly.
[0014] The handle cover is positioned between the furniture surface and the furniture handle and attached together with the furniture handle. Separate attachment of the handle cover is not required. Example 2: Handle cover with variable hole spacing
[0015] In another embodiment, the handle cover has elongated holes or several alternative through-holes.
[0016] This allows furniture handles with different hole spacings to be mounted without the need for additional drilling in the furniture surface.
[0017] This design allows for particularly flexible adaptation to different handle models and significantly simplifies the replacement of existing handles. Example 3: Material and color matching to furniture and handle
[0018] In another embodiment, the handle cover is made of the same material as the furniture handle or the furniture surface, for example metal, plastic or wood.
[0019] The surface of the handle cover is adapted in color and structure to the furniture handle or the furniture surface, so that the handle cover is hardly noticeable when mounted. Example 4: Handle cover for covering multiple drill holes
[0020] In another embodiment, the handle cover is designed to cover several existing drill holes that originate from different previous handle installations.
[0021] The handle cover has a correspondingly enlarged outer contour for this purpose, allowing the installation of a new furniture handle regardless of the position of the old drill holes. Example 5: Curved or profiled handle cover
[0022] In another embodiment, the handle cover is not flat, but slightly curved or profiled.
[0023] This design allows for adaptation to structured or uneven furniture surfaces and improves the visual integration of the handle cover into the overall appearance of the furniture. Example 6: System consisting of furniture handle and handle cover plate
[0024] In another embodiment, the handle cover is offered as part of a system consisting of a furniture handle and handle cover.
[0025] The handle cover is specifically designed to match the respective handle model and can be mounted together with it. This allows for easy retrofitting of existing furniture. Example 7: Modular or interchangeable handle cover
[0026] In another embodiment, the handle cover is designed as a separate, replaceable component that is provided in different sizes, shapes or colors.
[0027] The user can select the handle cover according to the existing drill hole configuration and the desired visual design. Registration information
[0028] The described embodiments represent only preferred embodiments and do not limit the scope of protection of the invention to the specific features shown. Reference symbol list: A handle / knob B Handle cover C current / required hole drilling The old / to be covered holes
Claims
[1] Handle cover for furniture, especially for cabinet doors and drawer fronts, characterized by that the handle cover can be arranged between a furniture surface and a furniture handle and completely covers at least one existing borehole provided for a previously mounted furniture handle, wherein the handle cover is designed in such a way that a furniture handle with a mounting dimension different from the original borehole dimension can be attached to the furniture surface. [2] Handle cover according to claim 1, characterized by that the handle cover has a flat basic shape, the outer contour of which is larger than the diameter or extent of the borehole to be covered.
