Abstract

Conveyor (1) comprising: - a guide (3) defining an annular closed feed path extending over a horizontal plane; - a plurality of pallets (5) slidably housed in the guide (3) and configured to receive respective pieces to be transported along the feed path; each pallet (5) comprising an end face (10) on which a piece to be transported can be suspended and two side faces (14A, 14B) arranged on the corresponding side faces (14B, 14A) of the adjacent pallets (5); - a handling unit (25, 27) configured to impart a forward push along the feed path to a group of pallets (5p) at a certain distance along the feed path;wherein the pallets (5) are not bound to one another and their feed along the feed path, except for the specified distance, is achieved by the thrust exerted by each pallet (5) on the pallet (5) preceding it, thereby creating a chainless conveyor; and wherein the conveyor (1) is oriented such that the end faces (10) of the pallets (5) are perpendicular to the lying plane and move transversely to themselves along the feed path.
