Abstract
A radiant heating element adapted for a cooking appliance, comprising an insulating base (4), at least one resistance element (10a, 10b, 10c, 11a, 11b) fixed to the insulating base (4), and a connector (7) comprising a body (8) and terminals (15, 16, 17) mounted on the body (8), wherein the ends of the heating element (10a, 10b, 10c, 11a, 11b) are connected to the terminals (15, 16, 17), characterized in that the radiant heating element (1; 1') is configured to be powered directly via the connector (7) by a DC power supply, wherein the radiant heating element (1;1') comprises a plurality of resistive elements (10a, 10b, 10c, 11a, 11b) connected in parallel and grouped into at least two groups of resistive elements (10, 11), generating at least two cooking zones (A, B) in operation, and the connector (7) comprises busbars (15b, 16b, 16c, 17b, 17c) via which the ends of the plurality of resistive elements (10a, 10b, 10c, 11a, 11b) are fixed to the terminals (15, 16, 17), with at least two of the busbars (16b, 16c, 17b, 17c) extending from the body (8) of the connector (7) over the insulating base (2) towards the interior of the radiant heating element (1; 1'), such that the two busbars (16b, 16c, 17b, 17c) are surrounded by the plurality of resistive elements (10a, 10b, 10c, 11a, 11b), wherein the ends of the resistive elements (10a, 10b, 10c) of one of the groups of resistive elements (10) are fixed to the two busbars (16b, 16c, 17b, 17c).
