Abstract

A data processing system for controlling and processing distributed applications in multi-level processing units with integrated interfaces, comprising a plurality of separate processing units arranged in at least two processing levels, an interface integration unit for connecting external and internal data sources, a control unit for assigning processing tasks to the processing units, and a storage unit for temporarily storing data and processing results, characterized in that a hardware-implemented process control unit is provided, which is configured to deterministically coordinate the processing steps of the distributed applications across the processing levels by detecting dependencies between processing steps in real time and enabling or blocking the execution of individual processing units depending on these dependencies.
