[0025] In the following, the technical solutions of the present application are described in connection with the attached drawings and using exemplary embodiments.

[0026] In the exemplary embodiments, a vehicle is proposed which comprises a vehicle body and a battery pack, wherein the battery pack is arranged in the vehicle body and the vehicle body is supplied with energy by the battery pack in order to set the vehicle body in motion. The battery pack comprises a case and a battery module, wherein the battery module is arranged in the case, i.e., the battery module is secured and protected by the case. In order to increase the maximum value of the energy that can be stored by the entire battery module as much as possible, the battery module comprises, for example, a plurality of batteries 1, wherein the plurality of batteries 1 are arranged in a plurality of rows and columns, as in Fig. 1. The number and specific arrangement of the batteries 1 can be adapted to the actual circumstances and is not particularly limited in this embodiment.

[0027] In connection with the Fig. 2, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the battery comprises a battery cell 13, a housing 12, and a cover assembly 11. The housing 12 is used to accommodate the battery cell 13, and the cover assembly 11 is connected to the battery cell 13 and the housing 12, respectively. The cover assembly 11 comprises a cover plate 111, a current collecting disc 112, and a terminal 113. The cover plate 111 is arranged on the underside of the housing 12 and is connected to negative terminal tabs 132 of the battery cell 13. The current collecting disc 112 rests against the top side of the battery cell 13 to be connected to positive terminal tabs 131 of the battery cell 13. The terminal 113 is passed through the top side of the housing 12 and is electrically connected to the current collecting disc 112, with a gap being present between the top side of the current collecting disc 112 and the underside of the terminal 113.

[0028] In the cover assembly 11 of this embodiment, the presence of a gap between the current collecting plate 112 and the terminal 113 prevents friction and collision during assembly and operation, and largely ensures the working performance and service life of the battery 1. Furthermore, the number of parts required for the cover assembly 11 can be greatly reduced, manufacturing costs can be lowered, and the disassembly and assembly process can be simplified. In the cover assembly 11, friction and collision during assembly and operation can be largely avoided, and the working performance and service life of the battery 1 can be largely ensured. Furthermore, the number of parts required for the cover assembly 11 can be greatly reduced, manufacturing costs can be lowered, and the disassembly and assembly process can be simplified.

[0029] In connection with the Fig. 4 and Fig. 5, in this embodiment, the cover assembly 11 may further include an energy-absorbing structure 114, wherein the energy-absorbing structure 114 is connected to the terminal 113, the housing 12, and the current-collecting disk 112, respectively, and wherein the energy-absorbing structure 114 is configured such that a gap exists between the top surface of the current-collecting disk 112 and the bottom surface of the terminal 113. Furthermore, the arrangement of the energy-absorbing structure 114 can also create a certain shock-absorbing and buffering effect between the terminal 113 and the housing 12 as well as the current-collecting disk 112, thereby improving the durability of the battery 1 against vibrations and shocks and extending the service life of the entire battery 1.

[0030] By way of example, it is provided that the energy-absorbing structure 114 comprises a sealing ring 1141 and a plastic cushion 1142, wherein the sealing ring 1141 is located between the housing 12 and the terminal 113, and wherein the plastic cushion 1142 is located between the housing 12 and the current collecting disc 112, and the sealing ring 1141 is guided through the plastic cushion 1142. The arrangement of the sealing ring 1141 can also enable the sealing between the terminal 113 and the housing 12 and ensure the operational reliability of the cover arrangement 11. Furthermore, the gap between the top side of the current collecting disc 112 and the bottom side of the terminal 113 is achieved by the mating of the sealing ring 1141 and the plastic cushion 1142. The sealing ring 1141 can, for example, be made of electrolyte-resistant rubber or elastic plastic.

[0031] In this embodiment, the surface of the plastic cushion 1142 is designed to be concave and convex in order to absorb the stresses generated by the plastic cushion 1142 during swelling and thereby reduce the pressure of the stresses on the battery cell 13 and the housing 12. This also allows the pressure generated by the expansion of the battery cell 13 during charging to be absorbed.

[0032] By way of example, it is provided that a plurality of first annular grooves 11421 are provided on an upper surface of the plastic cushion 1142, wherein the plurality of first annular grooves 11421 are distributed radially at equal intervals in order to improve the shock-absorbing and buffering effect of the entire energy-absorbing structure 114. Likewise, a plurality of second annular grooves 11422 are provided on a lower surface of the plastic cushion 1142, wherein the plurality of second annular grooves 11422 are distributed radially at equal intervals. The plastic cushion 1142 can swell in the electrolyte of the battery 1. The first annular groove 11421 and the second annular groove 11422 can absorb the stresses generated by the plastic cushion 1142 during swelling in order to reduce the pressure of the stresses on the battery cell 13 and the housing 12.In addition, the battery cell 13 may be subject to expansion during charging, wherein the expansion pressure of the battery cell 13 may be absorbed by the first annular groove 11421 and the second annular groove 11422.

[0033] For example, it is provided that the first annular grooves 11421 and the second annular grooves 11422 are distributed offset from one another, so that the surface of the plastic cushion 1142 is concave and convex in order to improve the shock-absorbing and buffering effect of the entire plastic cushion 1142.

[0034] In this exemplary embodiment, it is provided that the edge of the plastic cushion 1142 extends along a direction facing the current collecting disc 112 to an insulating section 11423, wherein the plastic cushion 1142 can cover the current collecting disc 112 via the insulating section 11423, and wherein a side of the insulating section 11423 facing away from the current collecting disc 112 abuts an inner wall of the housing 12. This means that the lateral peripheral walls of the current collecting disc 112 and the inner wall of the housing 12 are separated by the insulating section 11423, thereby avoiding direct contact between the current collecting disc 112 and the housing 12 and improving the compressive strength of the entire battery 1. The current collecting disc 112 is made of aluminum, for example.

[0035] The cover plate 111 is provided with welding portions 1111 and explosion-proof valves 1112, wherein the welding portions 1111 protrude in a direction facing the battery cell 13 with respect to the cover plate 111 and the explosion-proof valves 1112 protrude in a direction facing away from the battery cell 13 with respect to the cover plate 111, as shown in Fig. 6 to 12. That is, the welded portions 1111 are welded to the negative terminal tabs 132 of the battery cell 13, and the explosion-proof valve 1112 imparts an explosion-proof function to the battery cell 13. Since the welded portions 1111 protrude in a direction toward the battery cell 13 with respect to the cover plate 111, and the explosion-proof valves 1112 protrude in a direction away from the battery cell 13 with respect to the cover plate 111 (i.e., there is a distance h1 between an upper surface of the cover plate 111 and a lower surface of the negative terminal tab 132, and there is a distance h2 between a lower surface of the explosion-proof valve 1112 and a lower surface of the negative terminal tab 132), h2 > h1 > 0.As a result, the force generated by the expansion of the battery cell 13 can be absorbed by h1 and the height difference between h2 and h1 can be used to collect the bursting gas, which ensures a stable connection between the cover plate 111 and the negative terminal tabs 132 and at the same time prevents spontaneous combustion and explosion of the battery 1 due to excessive internal pressure and increases the safety of the battery 1.

[0036] For example, it is provided that the maximum width of the explosion-proof valve 1112 is less than half the radius of the housing 12 in order to reduce as much as possible the degassing space required for the entire battery module.

[0037] By way of example, the explosion-proof valve 1112 is provided with explosion-proof notches 11121, wherein the explosion-proof notches 11121 are formed by stamping. As a result, if the internal pressure of the battery 1 becomes too high, the gas in the housing 12 can be released along the explosion-proof notches 11121 to reduce the damage to the surrounding components of the battery 1 caused by the release of the gas.

[0038] By way of example, it is provided that a plurality of welding sections 1111 are provided, wherein the plurality of welding sections 1111 are arranged in a ring shape on the cover plate 111 in order to ensure the stability of the connection to the negative pole tabs 132. By way of example, three welding sections 1111 are provided.

[0039] By way of example, it is provided that the welding section 1111 is arc-shaped, wherein the maximum length of the superior arc section of the welding section 1111 is greater than half the radius of the battery cell 13 in order to ensure the largest possible contact area between the battery cell 13 and the cover plate 111 and to improve the stability of the electrical connection between the two. In other exemplary embodiments, the welding section 1111 can of course also take on other shapes, as long as it is ensured that the welding section 1111 and the negative pole tabs 132 can be stably welded to one another, which is not particularly limited in this exemplary embodiment.

[0040] By way of example, it is provided that a plurality of explosion-proof valves 1112 are provided, wherein the plurality of explosion-proof valves 1112 are each arranged in a ring shape on the cover plate 111 to improve the explosion-proof performance. By way of example, three explosion-proof valves 1112 are provided.

[0041] For example, it is provided that the welding sections 1111 and the explosion-proof valves 1112 are distributed offset from one another in order to ensure a uniform pressure load across the cover plate 111 and thus to improve the gas flow in the housing 12.

[0042] Combined with Fig. 10, in other embodiments, the cover plate 111 is further provided with a liquid filling opening 1114 for filling liquid or discharging gas.

[0043] For example, it is provided that the liquid filling opening 1114 coincides with the axis of the battery cell 13, ie the liquid filling opening 1114 is located in the center of the cover plate 111 in order to ensure a uniform pressure load across the cover plate 111.

[0044] By way of example, it is provided that the cover plate 111 protrudes along the edge of the liquid filling opening 1114 in the direction facing the battery cell 13 in order to form a liquid filling projection and thus increase the structural strength of the center of the cover plate 111.

[0045] In connection with the Fig. 7 to 9, in this embodiment, a restricting portion 1113 is also provided on an outer peripheral edge of the cover plate 111. The restricting portion 1113 protrudes with respect to the cover plate 111 in the direction facing the battery cell 13 to enclose the negative terminal tabs 132, that is, the negative terminal tabs 132 are positioned by the restricting portion 1113. This not only increases the strength of the entire cover plate 111, but also facilitates the subsequent precise welding of the negative terminal tabs 132 to the welding portion 1111, to prevent the negative terminal tabs 132 from being displaced by force during the welding process, which would lead to a close approach to the inner wall of the casing 12, which in turn would lead to poor welding, thereby deteriorating the operating performance of the battery cell 13.The fact that the limiting section 1113 can enclose the negative pole tabs 132 also prevents the negative pole tabs 132 from being damaged during assembly of the battery cell 13.

[0046] For example, it is provided that the surface of the limiting section 1113 which is in contact with the negative pole tabs 132 is arranged obliquely in order to improve the retention capacity of the negative pole tabs 132 and to avoid displacement of the negative pole tabs 132 as far as possible.

[0047] In view of the fact that after the battery cell 13 is inserted into the housing 12 through the opening on the underside of the housing 12, the cover plate 111 is to be fixed to the opening and covered, that is, the outer peripheral edge of the cover plate 111 and the underside of the housing 12 are to be welded together by means of solder, so that a solder portion 14 is formed at the connection point between the housing 12 and the cover plate 111 in order to ensure the stability of the connection between the cover plate 111 and the housing 12.

[0048] In connection with the Fig.10 to 12, a first chamfer on the housing 12 and a corresponding second chamfer on the cover plate 111 can of course also be provided around the edge of the opening in other exemplary embodiments. As a result, when the cover plate 111 is welded to the housing 12, a bead portion 15 can be formed at the connection point between the housing 12 and the cover plate 111. This not only facilitates welding and reduces stress concentration, but also improves the stability of the connection between the cover plate 111 and the housing 12.

[0049] In the description, embodiments using terms such as "some embodiments," "other embodiments," and the like are to be understood as meaning that specific features, structures, materials, or properties explained with reference to the embodiment or example are included in at least one embodiment or example of the present application. In the description, the exemplary explanations of the above terms do not necessarily refer to the same embodiment or example. Furthermore, the described specific features, structures, materials, or properties may be combined in one or more embodiments as appropriate.

[0050] By way of example, it is provided that the cover plate 111 in this embodiment of the present application is made of nickel-plated low-carbon steel (nickel-plated layer with a thickness of 0.5 µm - 3 µm), stainless steel or nickel-plated copper.

[0051] By way of example, it is provided that the housing 12 in this embodiment of the present application is made of nickel-plated low-carbon steel or stainless steel.

[0052] By way of example, it is provided that the negative pole tab 132 in this embodiment of the present application is made of nickel-plated copper or copper.

[0053] The nickel-plated layer on the cover plate 111 and the nickel-plated layer on the nickel-plated housing are made of the same material to facilitate welding and reduce the internal resistance of the material. Low-carbon steel substrates have high resistance. By applying a nickel layer to the front and back of the low-carbon steel substrate, welding with the (nickel-plated) housing can be facilitated and the resistance can be reduced. Stainless steel has a relatively high resistance, but after welding with the (nickel-plated) housing, it can effectively prevent the (nickel-plated) housing from rusting. Copper substrates have low resistance. By applying a nickel layer to the front and back of the copper substrate, welding with the (nickel-plated) housing can be facilitated.

[0054] The cover plate 111 is welded to the negative terminal tabs 132. The negative terminal tab 132 is made of copper, and to facilitate welding, the surface of the negative terminal tab 132 is also coated with a nickel layer, and the surface of the cover plate 111 is also coated with a nickel layer. Furthermore, nickel contributes to the corrosion resistance of the weld point. QUOTES CONTAINED IN THE DESCRIPTION
