Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a connection comprising a sash for a window or door, a surface element, in particular insulating glazing, and a sash frame formed from sections of a sash profile, which has a glass rebate receiving the surface element and circumferentially surrounding it on its end face, wherein the sash profile comprises a stop with a sealing groove for a stop seal on its side opposite the glass rebate, wherein the sash profile comprises a stop with a sealing groove for a stop seal on its side opposite the glass rebate, wherein the sash profile has a further recess in a profile wall at the stop for retaining an additional element, and comprises an additional element, wherein the additional element comprises a profile web which is partially received in the further recess and is designed as a mullion, blind mullion or mullion strip.
[0002] Such sashes for windows and doors, sash profiles for forming window and door sashes, and such sash-encompassing connections are widely known in the prior art. For example, DE 20 2008 009 721 U1 describes such a sash-encompassing connection using the example of a mullion connection, in which an additional element designed as a mullion strip rests against a stop of the sash in a corner area via a profile web. For pre-fixing, the additional element is connected to the hardware groove of the sash via a locking tab. A disadvantage of the sash and the connection encompassing it described in DE 20 2008 009 721 U1 is that the additional element, designed as a mullion strip, is not fully screwed in place, making tightening more difficult because the mullion strip can easily slip when the fastening screw is driven in.
[0003] A connection with the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known from GB 2 561 582 A. The present invention comes into play at this point, and its objective is to provide a connection with a wing that at least partially overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art. In particular, the final attachment of an additional element to the wing should be easier.
[0004] These and other problems are solved by a connection with a sash for a window or door having the features of claim 1. Preferred embodiments of the present invention are described in the respective dependent claims.
[0005] According to the present invention, it has been found that improved pre-fixation of an additional element to a window or door sash can be achieved by providing the sash with an additional retaining position that offers a certain degree of support for a corresponding web of the additional profile during pre-fixation. The additional element can then be attached to the sash profile particularly easily and with increased stability, making it virtually impossible for the pre-fixation to loosen during final fastening. According to the invention, this is achieved by providing the sash profile with an additional recess at the stop in a profile wall for retaining an additional element.
[0006] Accordingly, the present invention lies in providing a connection comprising a sash for a window or door, a surface element, in particular insulating glazing, and a sash frame formed from sections of a sash profile, which has a glass rebate receiving the surface element and circumferentially surrounding it on its end face, wherein the sash profile comprises a stop with a sealing groove for a stop seal on its side opposite the glass rebate, wherein the sash frame has a further recess in a profile wall at the stop for retaining an additional element, and comprises an additional element, wherein the additional element comprises a profile web which is partially received in the further recess and is designed as a mullion, blind mullion or mullion strip, wherein the connection is characterized according to the invention in that the additional element comprises a locking element which engages in the fitting groove of the sash profile.
[0007] With regard to the connection according to the invention, it can be helpful if the further recess is designed as a receiving groove. Such a design of the further recess enables a particularly simple receiving of part of the additional element for improved pre-fixation of the additional element to the wing according to the invention.
[0008] It can also be helpful if the additional recess is shaped like a circular segment. Such circular segment-shaped recesses are technically easy to manufacture and provide sufficient support for the additional element. For such circular segment-shaped recesses, opening angles in the range of 70° to 290° are preferred, particularly preferably 85° to 280° and especially 160° to 275°.
[0009] It can also be advantageous if the additional recess is located in a corner area of the stop. This, too, is easily implemented from a technical standpoint and contributes to the secure pre-fixation of the additional element to the sash.
[0010] Accessory elements can be attached particularly easily if the sash frame has a pair of opposing locking receptacles on its side opposite the rebate. These locking receptacles allow additional elements such as mullions, weatherstrips, mullion strips, cable ducts, or the like to be clipped to the sash of a window or door particularly easily by means of locking elements present on the additional elements, which cooperate with the pair of opposing locking receptacles, so that a simple and particularly stable connection can be formed between the sash according to the invention and the accessory element to be attached to it.
[0011] It can also be advantageous if the additional element includes a profile web that is partially incorporated into the further recess. This is a simple and technically easy-to-implement measure for utilizing the further recess on the wing according to the invention.
[0012] According to the invention, the additional element is designed as a post, blind post or cap strip.
[0013] It can also be helpful if the additional element comprises at least one retaining element that engages with a section of the sash, preferably on the hardware-side outer wall of the sash. Such retaining elements also serve to fix the additional element to the sash. According to the invention, locking elements engage in the hardware groove of the sash profile. In particularly preferred embodiments of the connection according to the invention, the additional element has two retaining elements that engage with the outer contour of the sash profile on its hardware-side outer wall. Particularly preferably, at least one retaining element of the additional element engages in the hardware groove of the sash profile or the sash itself.
[0014] Preferably, the profiles described herein, in particular the sash profiles and the additional elements, are multi-chamber hollow profiles, especially multi-chamber plastic hollow profiles or multi-chamber aluminum hollow profiles, with plastic hollow profiles being particularly preferred. This makes the sash design for a plastic window especially preferred. However, alternative embodiments may also use other profile types for the sash frames and the additional elements, such as aluminum profiles, wood profiles, aluminum-plastic composite profiles, aluminum-wood composite profiles, and the like.
[0015] The connection according to the invention, as well as individual parts thereof, can also be manufactured line by line or layer by layer using a line-by-line or layer-by-layer manufacturing process (e.g., 3D printing). However, the profile of the wing frame is preferably produced by extrusion and cut to length into spars, which are mitered and joined together, or welded in the case of thermoplastic profiles.
[0016] Preferred embodiments of the present invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Fig. 1 a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the wing (not according to the invention); Fig. 2 a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of a connection according to the invention, using the example of a butt joint which has a Fig. 1 The depicted wing is included as a fixed wing; Fig. 3 a cross-sectional view of a further embodiment of the connection (not according to the invention); and Fig. 4 a cross-sectional view of another embodiment of the connection (not according to the invention).
[0017] In Fig. 1 A sash 1, exemplified by a window sash, is shown in cross-sectional view with a sash frame 3 formed from sections of a plastic sash profile 2. It is composed of a plurality of hollow chambers, each surrounded by webs of the sash profile 2. Centrally, the profile of the sash frame 3 comprises a main hollow chamber 4, which is also commonly referred to as a reinforcement chamber or reinforcement, and into which a reinforcing element 5, preferably designed as a steel reinforcement, is received. The upper web 6 of the main hollow chamber 4, together with an outer overlap 7, forms a glazing rebate 8.On the side opposite the outer overlap 7, the sash profile 2 has a retaining strip groove 9 in which a retaining strip 10 is anchored, which in the illustrated embodiment is designed as a glazing retaining strip and through which a surface element 11 received in the glazing rebate 8, which is preferably insulated glazing and in the Fig. 1 The illustrated embodiment is designed as triple-pane insulating glass and is stabilized. In the sash frame 3, the glass rebate 8 surrounds the surface element 11, which is received in the sash frame 3, on its end face. The upper web 6 is located opposite the surface element 9, which is received in the glass rebate 8, on the rebate side of the sash profile 2. The surface element 11 is held in its position in the profile frame 2 by means of glass blocks and block bridges.
[0018] The in Fig. 1 The outer wall of the sash profile 3 located at the bottom is referred to as the hardware-side profile outer wall 12. A hardware groove 13 is located in the hardware-side profile outer wall 12, in which a hardware fitting (not shown) is partially received, by means of which the sash 1 can be rotatably attached, for example, to a frame.
[0019] In such sash profiles 2 for windows or doors, the outer side of the sash profile 2, where the outer overlap 7 is located, is referred to as the weather side with a weather-facing profile outer wall 14, while the side with the retaining strip groove 9 is referred to as the room side with a room-facing profile outer wall 15. On the room side, the room-facing profile outer wall 15 of the sash profile 2 extends beyond the main hollow chamber 4 in the illustration according to Fig. 1 extended downwards. This profile section is referred to as stop 16. There, the sash profile 2 includes a stop groove 17, which serves to receive a stop seal 18, allowing the window sash 1 to rest against, for example, a frame when the window is closed. A profile wall 19 adjoins the stop 16 and abuts the hardware-side profile outer wall 12 at a 90° corner of the sash profile. In the corner area between the profile wall 19 and the hardware-side profile outer wall 12, there is a further recess 20. In the sash profile 2 according to Fig. 1 The further recess 20 is circular segment-shaped with an opening angle of approximately 180°. The further recess 20 is intended to serve for the retention of an additional element 21, in particular a post, a blind post, a cap strip or the like ( Fig. 2 For this purpose, a portion of the additional element 21 can penetrate into the further recess 20 and provide a pre-fixation there, which significantly facilitates the final attachment of the additional element to the wing 1. In alternative embodiments, other opening angles are also possible, preferably in a range of 70° to 290°. It can also be designed as a receiving groove. A portion of the additional element 21 can be pre-fixed in such a receiving groove, for example, by a snap-fit mechanism.
[0020] In Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional representation of an embodiment of a connection 22 according to the invention, using the example of a butt joint 22, which has a Fig. 1 The depicted wing 1 is a fixed wing, which is connected to an additional element 21 designed as a mullion strip, and comprises a further wing 1' as an active wing.
[0021] The additional element 21, designed as a mullion strip, is also a hollow chamber plastic profile. The additional element 21 is located in the Fig. 2 In the illustrated embodiment of the connection 22 according to the invention, a seal 26 is attached to the weather-side outer profile wall 14 of the sash 1. As part of the pre-fixing, the additional element 21 comprises two retaining elements 23.1 and 23.2, which engage a section of the hardware-side profile wall 12 of the sash profile 2. Furthermore, a profile web 24 of the additional element 21 penetrates into the further recess 20 in the profile wall 19 of the stop 16. Slippage of the retaining elements 23.1 and 23.2 during the final fixing of the additional element 21 to the sash 1 by means of the fastening element 25, which is designed as a fastening screw, is virtually impossible, thus considerably simplifying the final fastening of the additional element 21 to the sash 1. Manual compression of the sash 1 and the additional element 21 while driving in the fastening element 25 by another installer is no longer necessary.
[0022] Furthermore, the in Fig. 1 The illustrated mullion connection extends to a leaf 1, which is also formed by a leaf 1'. However, the leaf 1 does not utilize the further recess 20'. In the closed position, the leaf 1 rests against the additional element 21 via its stop seal 17' and a further seal 26 of the additional element 21, and can be opened by a fitting (not shown).
[0023] To create the connection 22 according to the invention, the profile web 24 of the additional element is first inserted into the further recess 20 of the sash 1. Then, to pre-fix the additional element 21 to the sash 1, the retaining elements 23.1 and 23.2 are clamped to the outer profile wall 14 of the sash profile 2 on the hardware side. The retaining element 23.1 rests clamped against a groove wall of the hardware groove 13. In alternative embodiments of the connection 22 according to the invention, two retaining elements 23.1, 23.2 rest clamped against the two groove walls of the hardware groove 13, or the two retaining elements 23.1, 23.2 are snapped into place in the hardware groove 13. The fastening element, designed as a fastening screw, is then driven through a fastening channel of the additional element 21.The fastening element 25 penetrates the outer profile wall of the additional element 21 and the hardware-side outer profile wall 14 of the sash profile 2 and finally penetrates the reinforcement element 5 received in the main hollow chamber 4. This results in the rigid, final fixation of the additional element 21 to the sash 1.

The fitting is partially received in the fitting groove 13 of the sash profile 3, penetrates the base of the fitting groove 13, and partially projects into the main hollow chamber 4 of the sash profile 3. The fitting element, designed as a fitting, comprises in the Fig. 3 In the illustrated embodiment, a mechanism is provided by which a locking bolt can be removed from or inserted into a strike plate located on a frame opposite the sash 1 in order to open or close a window encompassing the sash 1. For pre-fixation, the additional element 21, designed as a fitting, includes a profile web 24 that is received in the further recess 20 of the sash profile 3. This significantly simplifies the mounting of the additional element 21 on the sash profile 3.
[0026] Also in Fig. 4 A further embodiment of the connection 22 is shown in a cross-sectional view. According to this embodiment of the connection 22 according to the invention, the additional element 21 is a folded strip. The additional element 21, designed as a folded strip, abuts the profile wall 19 of the stop 18 and thereby covers the groove for receiving the hardware seal. In its area located on the hardware-side outer wall 12 of the sash frame 3, the additional element 21 has a short profile web 24 that penetrates the further recess 20 of the sash frame 3 of the sash 1 and thus considerably facilitates the attachment of the additional element to the sash profile 3.
[0027] In alternative embodiments, the additional element 21 can also be designed as a clamping element. Such a clamping element can be used when the sash 1 is to be installed as a fixed sash in a corresponding frame. For this purpose, the clamping element is arranged between the frame and the sash 1 according to the invention, wherein the clamping element can be attached on the frame side, for example, in a suitable groove of the frame, while on the sash side the clamping element can engage in the further recess 20 of the sash profile of the sash 1 via a corresponding profile web 24.
