Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a kit for forming a railing with solar panels.

[0002] Today, efforts are being made to equip buildings with solar modules to generate electricity from solar energy. A solar module, which is a plate-shaped element, is also referred to as a "solar panel" below.

[0003] Besides roof mounting, it is also conceivable to install the solar panels on a balcony. From DE 200 14 310 U1, it is known to provide a railing in which part of it is formed by the solar panels. No support is provided for the individual solar panels, so the lower edge of each solar panel is not supported. The solar panels are mounted so that they can pivot and are therefore fixed to the movable elements. This complicates the installation of a solar panel as well as any potential replacement. DE 200 14 310 U1 discloses a kit according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0004] One object of the present invention is to create a kit for forming a railing with solar panels, in which the mounting of a solar panel is facilitated.

[0005] A kit that solves this problem is specified in claim 1. The further claims specify preferred embodiments as well as a railing and a photovoltaic system.

[0006] According to claim 1, the kit comprises at least one base profile as a support for at least one solar panel, at least one holding means, e.g. a top profile, and at least one post with a holding plate attached thereto, to which the at least one base profile can be attached.

[0007] The kit allows the solar panel to be attached without necessarily having to be screwed or glued in place, which simplifies assembly.

[0008] The at least one base profile is designed to serve as a support for the lower edge surface of the at least one solar panel. This allows the at least one solar panel to be arranged, for example, in a substantially vertical position. The area of the at least one solar panel between the upper and lower edges can be exposed and does not necessarily need to be supported. The support can be designed so that the at least one solar panel is not supported along the entire length of the lower edge surface, but only in one or more sections, for example, at both ends.

[0009] The at least one basic profile can be designed in one or more parts.

[0010] For example, the at least one base profile can be integrally formed with the support, or the at least one base profile can comprise a base profile and at least one separately formed support element, which serves as a support for the solar panel and which is connected to the base profile, e.g. by means of a detachable connection.

[0011] The retaining plate can be permanently attached to at least one post, e.g. by means of a fabric closure, or detachably, e.g. by means of a screw connection.

[0012] The at least one base profile can be attached to the mounting plate, e.g., directly or indirectly. For example, the at least one base profile has a side wall that can be attached to the mounting plate, and / or a base that can be attached to the mounting plate, for example, via a bracket element attached to the mounting plate.

[0013] Installation is significantly simplified by the inclusion of at least one cover profile, which can be detachably connected to at least one base profile, allowing the at least one solar panel to be positioned between the cover and base profiles. Advantageously, the cover and base profiles form a cable channel, enabling concealed cable routing.

[0014] At least two cover profiles are provided, which can be attached to the at least one base profile in such a way that the post's mounting plate is positioned between them. Advantageously, a cover profile can be cut to the specified length between two posts so that it rests against the post's mounting plates. The mounting plates, base profiles, and cover profiles then form a continuous channel.

[0015] As further examples of implementation, the kit may have one or more of the following features: A bracket element is attached to the mounting plate, preferably featuring an undercut fastening element for connection to the base profile and / or preferably being L-shaped. The base profile comprises a wall (e.g., a rear side wall or a base) which has a fastening groove for attachment to the mounting plate. Preferably, the fastening groove is located on the inside of the wall. The base profile has a rear side wall, and the base profile can be attached to the mounting plate in such a way that the plate projects beyond the rear side wall.

[0016] The invention will be explained below with reference to exemplary embodiments and the figures. These show... Fig. 1 a partially cut-away side view of a railing formed by means of a kit according to a first embodiment, wherein the cover profile is not attached so that the retaining part can be seen from the side, Fig. 2 the side view according to Fig. 1 , wherein the cover profile is attached so that it is visible from the side, Fig. 3 a front view of a post of the kit according to the first embodiment, Fig. 4 an exploded view of the lower part of the railing according to Fig. 1 without solar panel, Fig. 5 a perspective view of the lower part of the railing according to Fig. 1 without solar panel, Fig. 6 a partially cut-away side view of a railing which is formed by means of a kit according to a second embodiment, wherein the cover profile is not attached here, so that the retaining part can be seen from the side, Fig. 7 the side view according to Fig. 6 , with the cover profile attached so that it is visible from the side. Fig. 8 a partially cut-away side view of a railing formed by means of a kit according to a third embodiment, Fig. 9 a front view of a post of the kit according to the third embodiment, Fig. 10 an exploded view of the lower part of the railing according to Fig. 8 without solar panel, and Fig. 11 a perspective view of the lower part of the railing according to Fig. 8 without a solar panel.

[0017] Fig. 1 Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of a kit with which a railing with solar panels 1 was formed. Among other things, a post 10, a top profile 20 and a base profile 30 can be seen here.

[0018] As well as Fig. 3 As shown, post 10 has a longitudinal part 11 to which the following parts 12-14 are attached: at the upper end of the longitudinal part 11 a fastening part 12, to which the upper profile 20 can be attached, in the lower area of the longitudinal part 11 a retaining part 13, to which the base profile 30 can be attached, and at the lower end of the longitudinal part 11 a mounting part 14 for mounting the post 10 e.g. on the balcony B.

[0019] The longitudinal part 11 is designed here as a flat elongated element, which, for example, has a rectangular cross-section.

[0020] The fastening part 12 is designed here as a plate, the underside of which is attached to the top of the longitudinal part 11 and has the through holes 12a through which one end of a fastening screw 50 can be guided.

[0021] The retaining plate 13b is provided with through holes 13a, here with two, through which one end of a fastening screw 50 can be guided.

[0022] The retaining part 13 comprises a retaining plate 13b, the back of which is attached to the front of the longitudinal part 11, which here is a narrow side of the longitudinal part 11, so that the retaining plate 13b projects outwards on both sides of the longitudinal part 11.

[0023] The retaining part 13 is angled at the top, so that a cover plate 13c is given which together with the retaining plate 13b forms an angled profile, e.g. an L-shaped profile.

[0024] The mounting part 14 is designed as a plate, which is attached here to the rear of the longitudinal section 11 and has through holes 14a through which one end of a fastening screw 60 can be guided to fix the post 10. Depending on the type of installation, the mounting part 14 can also be designed differently. For example, the mounting part 14 can be attached to the lower end of the longitudinal section 11 in order to mount the post 10 not on the front, but on the floor of a balcony B.

[0025] Parts 11-14 are made of a weather-resistant material, preferably metal, e.g., steel, in particular hot-dip galvanized steel or stainless steel, and can each be manufactured in one piece. Parts 11-14 have a rectangular cross-section and can, for example, be manufactured from flat steel. The longitudinal part 11 can also be tubular and have an outer surface that is, for example, rectangular, in particular square. The respective parts 12-14 are permanently connected to the longitudinal part 11, e.g., by welding.

[0026] How Fig. 1 As further shown, the upper profile 20 has a longitudinal slot 20a, resulting in a semi-closed profile. The upper edge of the solar panel 1 is inserted into the longitudinal slot 20a, so that it projects into the interior of the upper profile 20.

[0027] The longitudinal slot 20a is provided with two sealing strips 24, 25, between which the solar panel 1 is arranged. The sealing strips 24, 25 are profiled and connected to the upper profile 20, for example, by means of a plug connection, whereby the components to be connected are provided with a groove or a projecting area for engagement in the groove. Here, the upper profile 20 has a longitudinal groove 20b on one side of the longitudinal slot 20a, into which a projecting side area 24a of the first sealing strip 24 is inserted, while the opposite side 20c of the longitudinal slot 20a is inserted into a longitudinal groove 25a in the second sealing strip 25.

[0028] The upper profile 20 further includes a fastening groove 20d on its underside, into which a fastening screw 50 can be inserted. The fastening groove 20d has a T-shaped cross-section, providing undercuts that retain the head of the fastening screw 50. The screw head is designed such that it has a non-circular shape, e.g., a substantially rectangular shape, and is thus secured against rotation in the fastening groove 20d when the screw end of the fastening screw 50 is passed through a through-hole 12a in the retaining part 12 and tightened by means of a nut 51. The fastening screw 50 is, for example, designed as a hammerhead screw, which can be inserted into the fastening groove 20d at the desired position and tightened by attaching the nut 51.When tightening, the head of the hammerhead screw initially rotates in such a way that it aligns itself perpendicular to the fastening groove 20d and then hits its walls, so that it can no longer be rotated further.

[0029] The upper surface 20e of the upper profile 20 serves as a handrail and is, for example, curved. It is also conceivable to provide a separate handrail which is attached to the upper surface 20e.

[0030] As well as Fig. 4 As shown, the base profile 30 is open at the top, forming two opposing side walls 30a, 30b, which are connected via a base 30c. Viewed from the side, the front side wall 30a extends to a higher level than the rear side wall 30b.

[0031] A support strip 30d is attached to the inside of the front side wall 30a, which projects into the interior of the base profile 30 and serves as a support for the solar panel 1. A protective pad 32 is arranged between the support strip 30d and the solar panel 1 (see figure). Fig. 1 This protects the solar panel 1 from damage and is made of a soft material, e.g. plastic.

[0032] The support strip 30d ends in front of the rear side wall 30b, thus providing a passage into the lower area 30e of the base profile 30, which serves as a cable duct. Thus, in Fig. 1 A junction box 2 for connecting a cable (not shown) is indicated, which then leads via the cable duct 30e to at least one other solar panel 1, a power optimizer and / or the inverter.

[0033] Fig. 1 and 4further show lower sealing strips 34, 35, which are located in the lower area of the solar panel 1 and which are designed, for example, in the same or similar way as the upper sealing strips 24, 25.

[0034] The lower sealing strips 34, 35, like the upper sealing strips 24, 25, can be connected by means of a plug-in connection, for example, by providing the components to be connected with a groove or a projecting area for engagement in the groove. Here, the front sealing strip 34 has a projecting side area 34a, which is inserted into a longitudinal groove 30f in the base profile 30, and the rear sealing strip 35 has a longitudinal groove 35a for receiving the counterpart, which, as explained below, is the retaining part 13 or a cover profile 40.

[0035] The sealing strips 24, 25 and 34, 35 prevent, among other things, the ingress of water and dirt into the interior of the upper and lower profiles 20, 30 and protect the solar panel 1 from damage. The sealing strips 24, 25, 34, 35 are made of a flexible material, e.g., an elastomer such as rubber.

[0036] The rear side wall 30b of the base profile 30 has a fastening groove 30g, which can be designed similarly to the fastening groove 20d in the upper profile 20 and therefore, for example, has a T-shaped cross-section, so that a fastening screw 50, e.g., a hammerhead screw, can be inserted into the fastening groove 30g and fastened to the retaining plate 13b by means of a nut 51.

[0037] The upper and lower edge areas 30i and 30h of the rear side wall 30b are each designed in such a way that they can be detachably connected to a cover profile 40, cf. Fig. 2 and 4This is achieved here by means of a snap connection. For this purpose, the rear side wall 30b has a lower and an upper edge region 30h and 30i respectively, each comprising an undercut profile. The lower edge region 30h is designed as an engagement groove. The upper edge region 30i has a step 30k in profile, which in the present embodiment is chamfered.

[0038] The cover profile 40 has a side wall 40a and a cover section 40b arranged transversely to it. In its lower edge region, the side wall 40a has an engagement strip 40c, which has an undercut profile. In the area between the engagement strip 40c and the cover section 40b, a spring strip 40d is arranged, which includes a groove and thus has an undercut profile. The spring strip 40d is resiliently designed so that it can deflect upwards when moving over the step 30k.

[0039] To connect the cover profile 40 with the base profile 30, with the cover profile 40 in an inclined position, the end-face edge area 40e of the cover part 40b is inserted into the groove 35a in the rear sealing strip 35 and then the cover profile 40 is tilted towards the base profile 30, so that the spring strip 40d moves over the step 30k and then snaps into place behind it and the engagement strip 40c is inserted into the engagement groove 30h.

[0040] The end-face edge area 40e of the cover part 40b and the end-face edge area of the cover plate 13c of the retaining part 13 then engage in the groove 35a, thus holding the rear sealing strip 35 spaced apart from the front sealing strip 34, cf. Fig. 5 As this figure also shows, a cover profile 40 can be attached flush to both sides of the retaining part 13.

[0041] The connection between cover profile 40 and base profile 30 is such that the solar panel 1 is securely held in between when a force, e.g. caused by wind, especially from the outside, acts on the solar panel 1 and thus on the cover profile 40.

[0042] Profiles 20, 30, 40 are made of a weather-resistant material, preferably metal, e.g. aluminum or an aluminum alloy.

[0043] The shape of each profile 20, 30, 40 is the same in the longitudinal direction, so that it can be manufactured in one piece, e.g. by extrusion.

[0044] In the Fig. 1 and 3-5As an option, openings 13d are shown in the retaining part 13; here, two are depicted. There can also be fewer or more. The openings 13d are each manufactured such that a tab 13e is punched out of the retaining plate 13b and bent. The bent tab 13e thus partially covers the opening 13d. This makes it more difficult for water to penetrate. In a simple embodiment, the tab 13e can also be omitted. Alternatively or additionally to the tab, a cover cap can be provided that partially covers an opening 13d in such a way as to make it more difficult for water to penetrate.

[0045] Air can flow through each opening 13d to dissipate any heat generated in the interior, which is enclosed by the retaining part 13 and the base and cover profiles 30, 40. Each opening 13d acts as a kind of "gill".

[0046] To promote this airflow, passage openings 30l are preferably also provided in the base profile 30, e.g. in the bottom 30c.

[0047] Fig. 6 and 7 As a second embodiment, we show a variant in which additional electronic and / or electrical components can be concealed, e.g., as shown here, a power optimizer 70 for the solar panel 1 and the necessary wiring (not shown). Each power optimizer 70 optimizes the output power of a single solar panel 1 and ensures a fixed string voltage.

[0048] As in the Fig. 6 and 7 The retaining part 13', the base profile 30' and the cover profile 40' are clearly different from the variant according to Fig. 1 and 2 Extended downwards, creating an additional channel 71. The following configurations are provided for this purpose: The retaining plate 13b' of the retaining part 13' is larger than that of the retaining plate 13b of the first embodiment and is angled at the bottom, forming a base plate 13c' which is arranged transversely to the retaining plate 13b'. A further side wall 30a', which is angled at the bottom, adjoins the front side wall 30a of the base profile 30'. A further side wall 40a', which is angled at the bottom, adjoins the side wall 40a of the cover profile 40' at the bottom, forming a base part 40b' which is arranged transversely to the side wall 40a'.

[0049] The angled end of the side wall 30a' overlaps the base plate 13c' and the base section 40b', but is spaced apart from them, so that a gap 72 is formed. This gap, together with the openings 30l in the base 30c and the openings 13d in the retaining part 13', forms a passage through which air can flow to dissipate any heat generated in the channel 71.

[0050] The inside of the side wall 30a' has a mounting groove 30g' which can have a T-shaped cross-section, so that a mounting screw 75, e.g. a hammerhead screw, can be inserted into the mounting groove 30g and connected to a nut to hold the power optimizer 70. Once mounted, it is wired to the junction box 2 via the opening 30l and to the adjacent power optimizers 70 or the inverter of the photovoltaic system via the channel 30e and / or the channel 71.

[0051] The retaining part 13' and the profiles 30', 40' can be manufactured from the same materials as explained above in the first embodiment and can each be formed in one piece.

[0052] Fig. 8-11 Figure 1 shows a third embodiment. Parts that are identical to those in the other embodiments are marked with the same reference numerals. This figure shows a variant in which additional electronic and / or electrical components can be concealed, e.g., a power optimizer 70 for solar panel 1 and the necessary wiring (not shown). In contrast to the second variant according to Figure 1, the following figure shows a power optimizer 70 for solar panel 1 and the necessary wiring (not shown). Fig. 6 and 7 The power optimizer 70 can be mounted so that it is not positioned below solar panel 1, but offset to the side. This results in a particularly compact arrangement.

[0053] The railing shown here is formed from a kit comprising, among other things, a post 110, a top profile 120 and a base profile 130.

[0054] As well as Fig. 9 As shown, the post 110 has a longitudinal part 111 to which the following parts 14, 112, 113 are attached: At the upper end of the longitudinal part 111, a fastening part 112, to which the upper profile 120 can be attached; in the lower area of the longitudinal part 111, a retaining part 113, to which the base profile 130 can be attached; and at the lower end of the longitudinal part 111, the mounting part 14 for mounting the post 110, e.g., on the balcony B.

[0055] The longitudinal part 111 is designed here as a tube, which has, for example, a rectangular cross-section.

[0056] The fastening part 112 is designed here as a profile, which is attached to the longitudinal part 111 e.g. by means of screws and to which an undercut fastening element 150 can be screwed.

[0057] The retaining part 113 comprises a retaining plate 113b, the rear of which is attached to the front of the longitudinal part 111, here by a detachable connection, e.g. by means of screws. The retaining plate 113b projects outwards from both sides of the longitudinal part 111.

[0058] The retaining element 113 is angled at the top, forming a cover plate 113c. Furthermore, a bracket element 113a is attached to the inside of the retaining plate 113b. This bracket element is spaced apart from the retaining plate 113b and is L-shaped. An undercut fastening element 150 is attached to the bracket element 113a, for example, by means of screws. A gap is provided between the retaining plate 113b and the bracket element 113a, through which the rear side wall 130b of the base profile 130 can project.

[0059] Parts 14, 111-113 are made of a weather-resistant material, preferably metal, e.g., steel or aluminum, and can each be manufactured in one or more pieces. The retaining part 113 can, for example, be manufactured as a casting. Parts 112 and 113 are detachably attached to the longitudinal part 111, while part 14 is permanently connected, e.g., by welding.

[0060] How Fig. 8 As further shown, the upper profile 120 has a longitudinal slot 120a, resulting in a semi-closed profile. The upper edge of the solar panel 1 is inserted into the longitudinal slot 120a, so that it projects into the interior of the upper profile 120.

[0061] The longitudinal slot 120a is provided with two sealing strips 24, 25, between which the solar panel 1 is arranged. Here, the upper profile 120 has a longitudinal groove 120b on one side of the longitudinal slot 120a, into which a projecting side area 24a of the first sealing strip 24 is inserted, while the opposite side 120c of the longitudinal slot 120a is inserted into a longitudinal groove 25a in the second sealing strip 25.

[0062] The upper profile 120 further includes on its inside a fastening groove 120d into which the fastening element 150 can be inserted.

[0063] As well as Fig. 10 As shown, the base profile 130 is open at the top, forming two opposing side walls 130a and 130b, which are connected via a base 130c. Viewed from the side, the front side wall 130a extends to a higher level than the rear side wall 130b.

[0064] A receiving groove 130m is provided on the inside of the front side wall 130a, into which at least one support element 130d is attached. This support element projects into the interior of the base profile 130 and serves as a support for the lower edge surface of the solar panel 1. The lower edge surface is the lower area of the solar panel between the front and back sides. A protective pad 32 is arranged between the support element 130d and the solar panel 1 (see figure). Fig. 8 This protects the solar panel 1 from damage and is made of a soft material, e.g. plastic.

[0065] The support element 130d has a support rail with a cantilever 130d' attached to its side. This cantilever and the receiving groove 130m are shaped such that first the upper part of the cantilever 130d' and then its lower part can be inserted laterally into the receiving groove 130m, and then the entire support element 130d is lowered downwards so that the cantilever 130d' is engaged in the receiving groove 130m. How Fig. 11 As shown, several support elements 130d can be provided, e.g. two per solar panel 1, on which it can be supported in its respective edge area.

[0066] The support element 130d ends before the rear side wall 130b, thus providing a passage into the lower area of the base profile 130. An electronic and / or electrical component can be attached laterally to the support element 130d. As shown in particular Fig. 11 As shown, a power optimizer 70 is attached here by means of, for example, a plate 130n to the support element 130d. It is thus arranged between the support element 130d and the rear side wall 130b of the base profile 130.

[0067] Fig. 8 , 10 and 11 Further lower sealing strips 34, 35 are shown, which bear against the lower area of the solar panel 1 and which can be designed as in the first and second embodiments. The front sealing strip 34 is inserted into a longitudinal groove 130f in the base profile 130 via its projecting side area 34a, and the longitudinal groove 35a in the rear sealing strip 35 serves to receive the counterpart, which is the retaining part 113 or cover profile 140.

[0068] The base 130c of the base profile 130 has a fastening groove 130g, which can be designed similarly to the fastening groove 120d in the upper profile 120 and therefore, for example, has a T-shaped cross-section, so that a fastening element 150 attached to the retaining part 113 can be inserted into the fastening groove 130g.

[0069] The upper edge area 130i of the rear side wall 130b and the lower edge area 130h of the floor 130c are each designed in such a way that they can be detachably connected with a cover profile 140, cf. Fig. 10 and 11 Here, as in the first two embodiments, this is achieved by means of a snap connection. Analogous to these embodiments, the lower and upper edge regions 130h and 130i respectively have an engagement groove or a profile with a step.

[0070] The cover profile 140, as in the first embodiment, has a side wall 40a, a cover part 40b with the edge region 40e, an engagement strip 40c and a spring strip 40d. In contrast to this first example, the engagement strip 40d is not arranged directly at the end of the side wall 40a, but at the end of a bottom wall 40f extending from the side wall 40a.

[0071] Analogous to the first two embodiments, the cover profile 140 is connected to the base profile 130 such that the end-face edge region 40e of the cover part 40b is inserted into the groove 35a in the rear sealing strip 35, the spring strip 40d is snapped in behind the upper edge region 130i, and the engagement strip 40c is inserted into the engagement groove 130h. The end-face edge region 40e of the cover part 40b and the end-face edge region of the cover plate 113c of the retaining part 113 then engage in the groove 35a, thus holding the rear sealing strip 35 at a distance from the front sealing strip 34, cf. Fig. 11 As this figure also shows, a cover profile 140 can be attached flush to both sides of the retaining part 113.

[0072] The connection between cover profile 140 and base profile 130 is such that the solar panel 1 is securely held in between when a force, e.g. caused by wind, especially from the outside, acts on the solar panel 1 and thus on the cover profile 140.

[0073] Profiles 120, 130, and 140 are made of a weather-resistant material, preferably metal, e.g., aluminum or an aluminum alloy. Profile 130 is designed here as a multi-part structure comprising a base profile with walls 130a, 130b, and 130c, and at least one profile forming the support element 130d.

[0074] In the Fig. 9 As an option, openings 113d are shown in the retaining part 113, here two. There can also be fewer or more. The openings 113d are each covered by a cover cap 113e with an open bottom, so that water ingress is difficult (see figure). Fig. 11 ).

[0075] Air can flow through the respective opening 113d to dissipate any heat generated in the interior, which is enclosed by the retaining part 113 and the base and cover profiles 130, 140. To promote this airflow, passage openings 130l are preferably also provided in the base profile 130, e.g., in the bottom 130c (see figure). Fig. 10 ).

[0076] In the examples shown here, the upper profile 20, 120 is continuous. It is also conceivable to provide a different retaining element for holding an upper edge region of the at least one solar panel 1 to the post 10 or 110. For example, a retaining profile, e.g., a U-shaped profile, can be attached or attachable to the post 10 or 110 so that it projects beyond the post 10, 110 on both sides to grip the right or left part of the upper edge region of a solar panel 1. The upper sealing strips 24, 25 are adjusted according to the length of the retaining profile. The upper edge of the solar panel 1 is then exposed in the middle, while its left or right upper edge region is held to the post. A handrail can be attached to the retaining profiles.

[0077] Corner pieces or chamfers may still be provided for profiles 20, 30, 30', 40, 40', 120, 130, 140 in order to provide a corner in the railing which follows a corner in balcony B.

[0078] The examples described here allow for the construction of a railing with solar panels 1, which are securely held in place, thus complying with legal regulations that, for example, require the railing to withstand a specified maximum force from the outside or inside without creating excessively large gaps that would compromise fall protection. This would be particularly problematic if the solar panel 1 were to fall out due to this maximum force.

[0079] The solar panels 1 are preferably mounted spaced apart from each other, whereby, depending on the size of the balcony, more than one post 10, 110 can be arranged between two adjacent solar panels 1 to ensure that no safety-critical gaps are created. This makes it possible to adapt the railing to the size of the balcony, even if only a few solar panels 1 of different widths are used.

[0080] For example, bifacial modules can be used as solar panel 1, which can utilize light exposure on both the front and back.
