[0008] Another device for a drainage system installed in the floor of a room, and a drainage system with such a device, are known from EP 3 064 667 A1. The device described therein comprises a sealing insert having a flexible sealing membrane with an opening through which water can pass, and a connecting part connected to the sealing membrane. The drainage system comprises a drainage body with a groove on its upper side into which the connecting part projects from above. The drainage body has an opening around which the groove extends. The drainage system is sealed both against the connecting part in the groove and in the opening of the drainage body against a frame that holds a trap.

[0009] Another device for a drainage system installed in the floor of a room, as well as a drainage system with such a device, is known from EP 3 366 852 A1. The device described therein comprises an elongated frame in which a molded part is provided, having an inclined upper surface. Water can flow over the inclined surface to an opening extending downwards through the molded part and the frame. A substructure frame projects downwards from the frame and rests on the top of a drainage body. Floor tiles can abut the outside of the frame. A sealing insert according to EP 3 064 667 A1 is also provided, the connecting part of which projects from above into a corresponding groove on the top of the drainage body.In this embodiment, the drain assembly is also sealed against both the connecting part in the groove and the opening of the drain body against a frame that holds a trap. Furthermore, the molded part rests with some play within the frame. Additionally, the substructure frame is slidably mounted on the top of the drain body. Thus, multiple sealing levels are provided.

[0010] Recently, liquid floor coverings applied as a thin layer to a suitably prepared subfloor have become increasingly common in sanitary areas. These floor coverings can be installed seamlessly. However, they are also very expensive, making a uniformly thin layer thickness desirable. Uneven layer thicknesses could lead to different shrinkage rates in different sections of the floor covering, potentially causing cracking. Furthermore, it is important to prevent wastewater from penetrating beneath parts of the floor covering.

[0011] The drainage devices known from the prior art cannot guarantee such a tight installation of a very thin, seamless floor covering. In particular, it proves disadvantageous that several sealing layers are provided between the individual parts of the device or the drainage system, which makes the tight installation of the floor covering more difficult.

[0012] The problem underlying the present invention is the creation of a device of the type mentioned at the outset and a drainage device of the type mentioned at the outset, which have fewer sealing planes between individual parts of the device or the drainage device and which are suitable for draining water from a liquid floor covering that can be applied to the floor.

[0013] According to the invention, this is achieved by a device of the type mentioned above with the features of claim 1 and by a discharge device of the type mentioned above with the features of claim 11. The dependent claims relate to preferred embodiments of the invention.

[0014] According to claim 1, the dimension of the vertical contact surface in the vertical direction in the assembled state of the device is between 1 mm and 6 mm.

[0015] Due to the vertical expansion of the contact surface in the assembled state of the device, which is provided to be between 1 mm and 6 mm, in particular between 1 mm and 5 mm, preferably between 2 mm and 4 mm, for example by an expansion of 3 mm, the vertical expansion of the contact surface corresponds to the typical thicknesses of liquid-applied, high-quality floor coverings. This makes the device ideally suited for use with such floor coverings.

[0016] It may be provided that the vertical support surface is designed so that the floor covering that can be applied to the floor rests against the support surface up to the upper edge of the support surface.

[0017] The sealing of the floor covering is achieved during the application of the floor covering, especially if it can be applied to the floor in liquid form, by ensuring that the floor covering is adhered as tightly as possible to the vertical contact surface.

[0018] A seal within the drainage device is provided by the circumferential seal on the outside of the connecting section opposite the part of the drainage device into which the connecting section protrudes.

[0019] The connecting section may be designed to have a circumferential groove on its outer surface in which the circumferential seal is or can be arranged. Alternatively, the part of the drainage device into which the connecting section projects may have a circumferential groove for a seal on its inner surface.

[0020] The device is designed to include a support section that surrounds the installation section at the level of the underside of the installation surface and is configured to support the floor covering, in particular a liquid-applied floor covering. The support section ensures uniform contact of the floor covering in the vicinity of the device, resulting in a consistent floor covering thickness.

[0021] The support section can be formed as a single piece with the system section and the connecting section, or it can be formed as a separate part. A single-piece connection of the support section with the system section and the connecting section further reduces the number of sealing levels.

[0022] The device may be made of metal, particularly stainless steel, or may comprise metal, particularly stainless steel. At least the part of the device comprising the mounting section and the connecting section, and in particular the part comprising the mounting section, the connecting section, and the support section, preferably the entire device, may be milled from a solid block or manufactured by 3D printing or deep drawing. For example, milling from a solid block or 3D printing ensures a one-piece and tight connection between the individual sections of the device.

[0023] Alternatively, the device may be made of or comprise plastic, in particular wherein the device is a one- or multi-component plastic part or comprises a one- or multi-component plastic part. At least the part of the device comprising the contact section and the connecting section, in particular the part of the device comprising the contact section, the connecting section, and the support section, preferably the entire device, may be manufactured by injection molding or 3D printing, or milled from solid material. Milling from solid material may be more economical for small production runs than injection molding, where the manufacturing costs for the tooling are generally comparatively high.

[0024] The device may have a trap insert. This could involve a ledge protruding into the opening, upon which the trap insert can rest.

[0025] The device may include a cover designed to be inserted into the device in such a way that a slot, in particular a slot circumferentially around the cover, is formed between the cover and the system section for the water to enter the opening. Specifically, the cover has a recess on its upper side, when the device is installed, for a portion of the floor covering. This results in an attractive appearance for the device or drainage system, because an observer sees only a circumferential slot with thin metallic edges in the otherwise unstructured floor.

[0026] According to claim 11, the drainage device comprises a drainage body with an inlet opening into which water can enter and with an outlet opening through which water can flow out, as well as a device according to the invention.

[0027] The drainage device may include a sealing insert with a flexible sealing membrane featuring an opening through which water can pass, and a connecting part that is attached to the sealing membrane. In particular, the drainage body may have a circumferential groove on its upper surface into which the connecting part projects from above when the drainage device is installed.

[0028] Advantageously, when the device is installed, the top of the support section is essentially at the same level as the sealing membrane of the sealing insert. This ensures a uniform contact surface for the floor covering over a larger area, resulting in a consistent floor covering thickness.

[0029] Further features and advantages of exemplary embodiments of the invention are described below with reference to the drawings. The same reference numerals are used for identical or similar components and for components with identical or similar functions. The drawings show: Fig. 1 a perspective view from above of a first embodiment of a device according to the invention; Fig. 2 a perspective view from below of the first embodiment of the device according to the invention; Fig. 3 an exploded view of a first embodiment of a drainage device according to the invention with the first embodiment of the device according to the invention; Fig. 4 an exploded view of a second embodiment of a drainage device according to the invention with a second embodiment of a device according to the invention; Fig. 5 a perspective view of the first embodiment of the drainage device according to the invention; Fig. 6 a Fig. 5 corresponding view of the first embodiment of the drainage device according to the invention with an applied floor covering; Fig. 7 a perspective section according to arrows VII - VII in Fig. 6 ; Fig. 8 a section according to arrows VIII - VIII in Fig. 6 ; Fig. 9 a detail according to arrow IX in Fig. 8 ; Fig. 10 a perspective section according to arrows VIII - VIII in Fig. 6 ; Fig. 11 a detail according to arrow XI in Fig. 10 ; Fig. 12 a perspective section according to arrows XII - XII in Fig. 6 .

[0030] The device 1 shown in the figures is relatively flat and has on its upper side (in the operating position) a contact section 2 with a vertical contact surface 3 when the device 1 is mounted. The vertical contact surface 3 surrounds an opening 4 that extends downwards through the device 1 from top to bottom. The opening 4 has an oval cross-section and is elongated, so that the opening 4 is significantly larger in the longitudinal direction than in the transverse direction, for example, four to eight times larger than in the transverse direction.

[0031] It is entirely possible that opening 4 has a cross-section other than an oval one, such as a rectangular cross-section. Furthermore, it is possible that opening 4 is not elongated, but has, for example, a circular or a square cross-section.

[0032] A floor covering 12, in particular a liquid floor covering 12 that can be applied to the floor, can be applied to the vertical mounting surface 3 from the outside (see, for example, Fig. 9 The contact surface 3 has a vertical dimension of less than 7 mm, in particular an dimension between 1 mm and 6 mm, in particular between 1 mm and 5 mm, preferably between 2 mm and 4 mm, for example an dimension of 3 mm.

[0033] The device 1 further comprises a support section 5 that surrounds the installation section 2 at the level of the underside of the installation surface 3. The support section 5 thus extends outwards from the installation surface 3 away from the opening 4. The floor covering 12, in particular the liquid floor covering 12, can rest on the support section 5.

[0034] The support section 5 can be formed integrally with the plant section 2 (see the Fig. 1 bis 3 Alternatively, support section 5 can also be designed as a separate part from plant section 2 (see Fig. 4 ). In this case, the support section 5 is a flat frame through which the opening 4 extends.

[0035] The device 1 further comprises a connecting section 6 which, in the assembled state of the device 1, projects downwards from the mounting section 2 and, if applicable, the support section 5. The connecting section 6 has a circumferential groove 7 on its outer surface in which a circumferential seal 8 can be arranged (see, for example, [reference]). Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 The connecting section 6, when the device 1 is assembled, projects from above into a drain body 18 of the drain device, which will be described in detail below. The circumferential seal 8 rests against the inside of the part of the drain device into which the connecting section 6 projects, forming a seal.

[0036] In the embodiment according to the Fig. 1 bis 3 The plant section 2, the support section 5, and the connecting section 6 are formed integrally. In the embodiment according to Fig. 4 Only the plant section 2 and the connecting section 6 are formed as a single piece, whereas the support section 5 is a separate part.

[0037] The device consists of metal, in particular stainless steel, or comprises metal, in particular stainless steel. In particular, the integrally formed parts of the device 1 consist of metal or stainless steel.

[0038] In this case, at least the part of the device 1 comprising the plant section 2 and the connecting section 6, in particular the part of the device 1 comprising the plant section 3, the connecting section 6 and the support section 5, may be milled from solid material or manufactured by 3D printing or by deep drawing.

[0039] The device 1 further comprises a cover 9, which is designed to be inserted into the device 1 in such a way that a slot 10, in particular a slot 10 circumferentially around the cover 9, is formed between the cover 9 and the system section 2 for the inlet of water into the opening 4 (see, for example, Fig. 5 und Fig. 7 ). The cover 9 has on its upper side, when the device 1 is mounted, a receptacle 11 for a part 13 of the floor covering 12 (see Fig. 9 ).

[0040] Between the inner sides of the vertical mounting surface 3 and the longitudinally facing ends of the opening 4, two support areas 14 are provided for the cover 9 (see Fig. 1 ). In each of these support areas 14 there is a bore 15 for receiving a screw 16 (see Fig. 3 ), which serves to attach the device 1 to the drain body 18 of the drain device.

[0041] The device 1 further comprises a trap insert 17, which, in the assembled state, partially projects through the opening 4 into the drain body 18 of the drain device. The device 1 has two shoulders 19 at the longitudinally facing ends of the opening 4, which project into the opening 4 so that the trap insert 17 can rest on them.

[0042] The in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 bis 11 The illustrated drainage device comprises, in addition to the device 1, the drainage body 18 with an inlet opening 20 into which water can enter and an outlet opening 21 through which water can flow out. In the illustrated embodiment, the outlet opening 21 is part of a drain spout 22, which is arranged on one of the end faces of the drainage body 18. Alternatively, a drain spout can also be arranged centrally or on the other end face.

[0043] In the assembled state of the device 1, the connecting section 6 of the device 1 projects downwards into the inlet opening 20 of the drain body 18. The connecting section 6 is sealed on its outer side against the inner edge 23 of the inlet opening 20 of the drain body 18 by the seal 8 arranged in the groove 7 (see Fig. 9 ).

[0044] The drainage device further comprises a sealing insert 24, which has a flexible sealing film 25 with an opening 26 through which water can pass, and a connecting part 27 which is connected to the sealing film 25 (see Fig. 3 , Fig. 9 and Fig. 11 ). The drain body 18 has a circumferential groove 28 on its upper side, into which the connecting part 27 projects from above when the drain device is mounted.

[0045] In the assembled state of the device 1, the upper surface of the support section 5 of the device 1 is essentially at the level of the sealing membrane 25 of the sealing insert 24. A thin composite sealant can be applied to this sealing membrane 25. The floor covering 12, in particular a liquid, is applied to the sealing membrane 25 or the composite sealant on one side and to the support section 5 on the other. The floor covering 12 is very thin, in particular no more than 3 mm thick.

[0046] Fig. 9 Figure 1 shows the floor covering 12 applied to the sealing membrane 25 and the support section 5. In the illustrated embodiment, this consists of two layers 29, 30 arranged one above the other. It is also possible to provide only one layer.

[0047] Fig. 9further shows that a screw 16 is screwed into a corresponding receptacle 31 of the drain body 18 through the bore 15 or each of the bores 15.
