Description
[0001] The invention relates, according to the preamble of claim 1, to a lateral guide rail for laterally guiding a curtain of a building opening shading device, such as a roller shutter, and, according to the preamble of claim 7, to a building opening shading device for installation in a building-side installation space above a window, a door or the like.
[0002] Building opening shading devices of the generic type, in particular top-mounted roller shutters, are nowadays often retrofitted to existing buildings and are installed individually or together with a new window / door or similar in existing installation spaces above a window, door or similar.
[0003] In the US patent application US 2017 / 0298685 A1, the German patent application DE 10 2010 052 501 A1 and the US patent application US 2015 / 0027059 A1 such building opening shading devices are shown in which the curtain guide rails have protruding, external extensions at the upper end.
[0004] Especially when such renovation roller shutters feature a relatively voluminous, insulated roller shaft housing in accordance with the legally required thermal insulation of the building envelope, the existing installation space in the building can become cramped, even though modern retrofit roller shutters generally have a roller barrel with a smaller diameter than the original roller shutters. However, the size and, in particular, the height of the existing installation space in the building are predetermined. This can lead to components, especially the two side panels supporting the roller shaft of the roller shaft, protruding from the underside of the installation space.
[0005] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a building opening shading device and a guide rail therefor, which are suitable for confined spaces in the installation space, provide a visually appealing impression and are highly weather-resistant.
[0006] This object is achieved with regard to the side guide rail by the features of claim 1, and with regard to the building opening shading device by the features of claim 7.
[0007] According to the invention, the side guide rail has an outer side extending along the side guide rail and facing away from the building, and an inner side extending along the side guide rail and facing the building, between which a guide groove for the curtain extends on the side of the side guide rail facing the curtain, wherein the outer side projects upwards over an upper end of the inner side with a panel area adjoining its upper edge on the underside, and wherein the upper end face of the side guide rail connecting the upper edge of the outer side of the side guide rail to the upper end of the inner side of the side guide rail slopes downwards from the level of the upper edge of the outer side to the level of the upper end of the inner side.
[0008] The side guide rail has an external cover near its upper end, which is suitable for shielding components protruding downwards from the installation space from outside views of the building façade and from the effects of the weather. This creates a visually appealing impression even if the height of the installation space is so limited that parts of the building opening shading device, in particular the side panels that accommodate the winding shaft, protrude downwards from the installation space and are not concealed by the outer apron of the installation space or the lintel box on the outside of the building. At the same time, the side guide rail forms an inclined contact surface for the underside of the side panels, which can advantageously be tapered to complement this.If this outer apron is long enough to cover the lower end sections of the side panels on the building's exterior, the cover sections at the upper end of the outer sides of the side guide rails will at least not be a hindrance. The side guide rail is therefore universally applicable, regardless of how far the outer apron of the lintel box extends downwards.
[0009] In a building opening shading device according to the invention, the two side guide rails designed in this way are connected from below to the two side parts of the building opening shading device, so that a lower end region of each side part is covered on the outside by the cover region of the associated side guide rail.
[0010] Information such as "outside", "facing the building", "facing away from the building" and "top" refer to the installed state of the side guide rail.
[0011] Advantageous further training is the subject of the subclaims.
[0012] A particularly easy way to create a sloping top side of the side guide rail is to make an angled cut, which then creates a sloping top end of the side guide rail, i.e., from the top edge of the outside to the top end of the inside. Angles of 50° to 80°, particularly approximately 60° between the outside and the sloping end, have proven particularly suitable for mounting the side guide rail from below to the associated side part. The angle between the sloping end and the horizontal plane is therefore advantageously 10° to 40°, particularly 30°, when the side guide rail is installed.
[0013] To create a visually appealing impression, the outer side of the side guide rail should be wider than the inner side, or at least the same width, so that when viewed from the outside, nothing peeks out from behind the outer front. A flat surface on the outer side is particularly attractive and weather-resistant.
[0014] If the two side parts of the building opening shading device have curtain inlet guides which are formed on their inner wall facing the curtain, for example in the form of a wall projecting there or an inlet funnel, in order to allow the curtain to run into the guide groove of the associated side guide rail when unwinding from the guide rail, it is particularly advantageous if the outer side of the side guide rail or at least its section facing the curtain is wide enough to completely or at least substantially cover the curtain inlet guide in the lower end area of the side part.
[0015] Further advantageous developments of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the advantageous embodiment of the invention shown in the accompanying figures. They show: Fig. 1 shows a cross section through a roller shutter according to an embodiment of the invention; Fig. 2 shows the area at the lower end of the side part of the Fig. 1 shown roller shutter during assembly of the side guide rail in cross-sectional view with cross-sectional plane guided through the side part; Fig. 3 a profile of a side guide rail of the Fig. 1 and 2 shown roller shutter; Fig. 4 a connecting pin for the Fig. 3 shown side guide rail profile; Fig. 5 a plan view of the in Fig. 3 profile shown and the one in Fig. 4 shown connecting pin formed side guide rail; Fig. 6 a first assembly step when attaching the side guide rail to the associated side part with a cutting plane perpendicular to the cutting plane in Fig. 2 ; and Fig. 7 one of the Fig. 6 corresponding view after installation of the side guide rail.
[0016] First, reference is made to the Fig. 1 .
[0017] Reference numeral 1 designates a window frame, above which a building-side installation space 2 is located in a roller shutter shaft or lintel box SK. A building opening shading device, designated overall by 3, is installed in the installation space 2. This device is a renovation roller shutter, designed as a top-mounted roller shutter and mounted on the window frame 1 with a baseboard profile 7. This situation is particularly common in older buildings where roller shutter shafts are already present above the windows and where the thermal insulation value of the facade is to be increased during the window replacement or even simply by replacing the roller shutters.
[0018] For this purpose, the renovation roller shutter 3 has a winding shaft housing formed from crescent-shaped insulation elements 4, 5, an insulation overlay 9 on the baseboard profile 7, and a front cover 6 on the outside of the building, which is closed at the front ends by two side parts 13, so that the inside of the building is completely insulated from a curtain outlet opening located above a guide rail 11 and thus from the outside of the building. The side parts 13 not only support the insulation elements 4, 5 and the front cover 6, but also serve to rotatably support a winding shaft 8, on which a curtain of the renovation roller shutter is received so that it can be raised and lowered. The side parts are attached to the front of the baseboard profile 7, preferably in a hinged manner, as is clear, for example, from the applicant's own application DE10 2009 052 010 A1, which is fully incorporated herein in this regard.
[0019] On the inside of the building, there is an inspection opening on the downward-facing reveal wall, which is closed with a cover 10 and through which the installation space 2 is accessible. To enable assembly / disassembly through the inspection opening, the winding shaft housing has the individual insulation elements or insulating crescents 4, 5. Furthermore, the baseboard of the top-mounted roller shutter 3 also consists of individual elements, namely the baseboard profile 7, which is to be attached, for example, to the window frame 1, and a baseboard mounting profile 12 that supports the insulation support 9 of the baseboard, and on the back of which the lower insulating crescent 4 of the winding shaft housing is hung or inserted. After closing the inspection cover 10 and attaching guide rails 11 on the outside of the building for the curtain held on the winding shaft 8, the assembly of the top-mounted roller shutter box is complete.
[0020] The size of the installation space 2 is determined by the lintel box SK provided on the building side. This applies in particular to the height of the lintel box SK or to the height of an external apron A of the lintel box SK, which covers the interior of the installation space 2 on the outside of the building. The external apron A can be plastered or provided with masonry or an insulating layer. However, its underside A1 determines the position of the downward-facing, external reveal wall above the building opening. The height of this underside of the external apron A can vary depending on the design of the building-side lintel box SK. For example, it would be entirely conceivable that the Fig. 1 the underside of the outer apron A marked A1 would be located at the point marked A2, i.e. significantly higher than in the embodiment shown.
[0021] To get a Fig. 2 In order to shield the lower end of the side part 13, indicated at 32, from views of the building façade from the outside, the side guide rail 11 adjoining the underside of the side part 13 has a beveled upper surface. The side guide rail 11 is beveled in such a way that an upper edge 28 of the outer side 30 of the side guide rail 11 facing the outside of the building is significantly higher than an upper edge forming an upper end of the inner side 31 of the side guide rail 11.
[0022] The upper end area below the upper edge 28 of the outer side 30 thus acts like a cover that covers a lower end area 32 of the side part 13. A bottom side 29 of the side part 13 facing the beveled upper side of the side guide rail 11 is beveled in a complementary manner, so that the side guide rail 11 in Fig. 1 shown, installed state with its upper side on the underside 29 of the side part 13.
[0023] As in Fig. 1 As can be seen, a wall protrudes inwards from the side part 13, which serves as a curtain inlet guide 35 to guide the curtain when it is unwound from the winding shaft 8 into the guide rail 11. The lower end of the curtain inlet guide 35 is also covered by the upper bevel of the side guide rail 11, as explained below in connection with the Fig. 6 and 7 will be explained in more detail.
[0024] However, the final step, namely attaching the side guide rails 11 to the side panels 13, can be challenging. The installation space, usually limited at the bottom by a window sill or similar, generally does not allow for a guide rail to be attached vertically from below to the winding shaft housing or the side panel 13 and pushed onto a connecting pin projecting downward from the side panel 13, which is conventionally used to securely attach the side guide rail to the side panel.
[0025] The side guide rail 11 of the roller shutter according to the embodiment of the invention shown has a connecting pin 14 on the top side, which projects upwards and can be inserted into a pin receptacle 15 on the side part 13 that opens downwards, as Fig. 2 shows.
[0026] In order to gain the assembly clearance required for inserting the connecting pin 14 into the pin receptacle 15, as Fig. 6 shows, the side guide rail 11 with its connecting pins 14 is placed diagonally on the pin holder 15, in such a way that the lower end of the side guide rail 11 is inclined towards the center of the curtain, which in Fig. 2 an inclination into the plane of the sheet. The side guide rail 11 can then be pushed upwards by screwing it into the vertical position until the connecting pin 14 is fully inserted into the pin receptacle 15 and the side guide rail 11 has reached its vertical end position mounted on the side part 13, see Fig. 7 .
[0027] In summary, the Fig. 6 and 7It also becomes clear how the outer side 30 of the side guide rail 11 with its upper end region 33 covers the lower end region 32 of the side part 13, which is partially formed on the curtain inlet guide 35. In Figur 7 In the assembled state of the side guide rail 11 shown, the lower end area 32 ( Fig. 6 ) of the side part 13 cannot be seen even if the outer skirt A is as shown in Fig. 1 designated A2 has a relatively high lower edge, which would otherwise allow a view of the lower end region 32 of the side part 13.
[0028] The connecting pin 14 is shown in detail in the Fig. 4 It comprises a lower part 20 and an upper part 21, each of which has a substantially rectangular cross-sectional contour, extending upwards and downwards, respectively. The upper end of the upper part 21 has a bevel 24 on one broad side of the rectangular cross-sectional contour, which allows the oblique insertion of the connecting pin 14 into the pin receptacle 15 ( Fig. 6 ). On the opposite wide side, the upper part 21 has a clip projection 23, which is assigned a corresponding clip recess 16 on the wall bordering the pin receptacle 15 towards the curtain, see Fig. 2 , and into which the upper clip projection engages when the connecting pin 14 is fully inserted into the pin receptacle 15, see Fig. 7 On the side of the side part 13 facing the curtain, the continuous clip holder 16 is also easily accessible at a later date if the upper clip projection 23 has to be released from there in order to be able to remove the guide rail 11 again in the event of an inspection.
[0029] On the lower part 20, the connecting pin 14 has a lower clip projection 22, which is located on the same broad side as the upper clip projection 23. If the connecting pin 14 with its lower part 20 is inserted into a pin channel 19 provided for this purpose ( Fig. 3 ) of the profile of the side guide rail 11, the underside clip projection 22 also faces the curtain. The clip receptacle provided for the underside clip projection 22 can thus be recessed in a wall forming the groove base of a guide groove for the curtain, see Fig. 5In addition to the guide groove 17 for the roller shutter curtain, an additional guide groove 18 is optionally provided for an additional curtain, for example an insect screen.
[0030] At the upper end of the pin upper part 21, there is a rounded portion 25 on both narrow sides, which fits into a complementary rounded portion 26 on the wall forming the upper end of the pin receptacle 15. When the connecting pin is fully inserted, an additional positive fit between the connecting pin 14 and the pin receptacle 15 engages at the rounded portions 25 and 26, respectively, providing additional security against the winding shaft housing tipping toward the interior of the building.
[0031] Variations and modifications of the embodiment shown are possible.
[0032] For example, it would be conceivable to use the invention on another roller shutter, such as a front-mounted roller shutter or a Venetian blind or even on a vertical awning.
