AI Technical Summary
Existing telescopic sight mounts for hunting or sporting weapons face challenges in achieving backlash-free, stress-free, and linear adjustments, particularly in elevation and lateral adjustments, due to the use of eccentric adjustments that induce bending stress and non-linear movements.
A telescopic sight mount design featuring a bracket with a front horizontal pivot bearing and a rear pivoting threaded spindle, allowing for backlash-free, stress-free, and linear height adjustments, where the pivoting threaded spindle performs an arc-shaped movement centered on the front bearing, ensuring the adjustment wheel and counter-wheel remain parallel and flush with the weapon-side adjustment plate.
Enables reliable, stable, and precise height and lateral adjustments without play or stress, ensuring optimal absorption of the shot's impulse and maintaining maximum stability during adjustments.
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a height or lateral adjustment of a telescopic sight mount for a hunting or sporting weapon according to the preamble of claim 1 or claim 12.
[0002] From EP 2 956 732 B1, which originates from the same applicant, a universal telescopic sight mount for handguns can be derived, which offers the advantage that, regardless of the type and setting of a telescopic sight, such a telescopic sight can always be adapted to different types of weapons without changing the settings on the telescopic sight, thus achieving the desired point of impact for each weapon with the same telescopic sight.
[0003] The patent itself reveals in Figure 6generally a tilt adjustment with a deviation angle 19, which serves for height adjustment and furthermore a lateral adjustment option 13, in which the weapon-side adjustment plate can be moved by a certain lateral displacement in the lateral plane.
[0004] In the aforementioned patent, the weapon-side plate, which is mounted either on the monoblock or directly on the barrel of the weapon and is firmly connected to it, consists of a two-part plate: an upper adjustment plate and a weapon-side base rail. The plate attached directly to the weapon was referred to there as the weapon-side counter plate.
[0005] The core of the patent was that a multi-part, weapon-side base rail, consisting of an adjustment plate and a weapon-side counter plate, was arranged on the weapon, with the dividing plane positioned above the adjustment plate in relation to a scope-side mounting rail. This offered the advantage that the scope, with its mounting rail attached to the underside, could always be lifted from the weapon-side upper adjustment plate and transferred to other weapons where elevation and windage adjustment of the adjustment plate was already possible. This is in Figure 6 This patent is represented.
[0006] In other known riflescope mounts, the elevation adjustment is achieved with an elevation eccentric, whereby the elevation eccentric describes a parabolic curve, which makes adjusting the elevation difficult in practice.
[0007] The US 2018 / 0 087 875 A1 represents the closest state of the art and reveals an altitude setting. or a lateral adjustment of a telescopic sight mount for a hunting or sporting weapon according to the preamble of the claim 1 or 12.
[0008] The invention is based on the objective of further developing a height adjustment and, if necessary, also a lateral adjustment in such a way that a backlash-free, stress-free and linear adjustment of the weapon-side adjustment plate is enabled.
[0009] Another task is to combine the height adjustment with a side adjustment in such a way that both adjustment devices can be set independently of each other without tension or play.
[0010] To solve the problem set out, the invention is characterized by a height adjustment according to claim 1 or a lateral adjustment according to claim 12.
[0011] According to the invention, the height adjustment of a telescopic sight mount consists of a bracket attached to the weapon barrel or to the monoblock, which comprises at least one front, weapon-side projection on which a front, horizontal bearing for a telescopic sight-side bracket is formed, wherein a rear weapon-side stud bolt is arranged at an axial distance from the front bearing, on which a pivoting threaded spindle supporting the telescopic sight-side bracket is pivotable about a horizontal axis with tilting play in order to enable a backlash-free, stress-free and linear height adjustment of the weapon-side bracket.
[0012] The front horizontal bearing is a rotary bearing, and the pivoting threaded spindle is a round cylindrical sleeve bearing an external thread, which has an internal oval, elongated recess for rotary bearing on a weapon-side cylindrical stud bolt.
[0013] A preferred feature of the invention is therefore that a weapon-side base rail attached to the barrel or monoblock of the weapon carries at its front end a horizontal pivot bearing for pivoting a weapon-side adjustment plate arranged thereon, and that at axial distance and in the same longitudinal plane on the weapon-side base rail a rear bearing is arranged in which an adjustable pivot threaded spindle for adjusting the inclination of the telescopic sight is arranged.
[0014] The term "scope-side mount" encompasses all mounting devices for a riflescope on its underside. Thus, the riflescope may be attached to the underside with no, one, or two plates to mount it on the tilt-adjustable part of the elevation turret.
[0015] The term "weapon-side mounting" encompasses all fastening devices located on the weapon side. There may be zero, one, two, or three plates attached to the weapon side. The only requirement is that the fixed part of the elevation adjustment device is secured to the weapon in some way.
[0016] Therefore, when the following description refers to a weapon-side adjustment plate that carries the tilt-adjustable part of the height adjustment device, while the underlying weapon-side base rail carries the fixed part of the height adjustment device, this is to be understood only as an advantageous embodiment.
[0017] The given technical teaching therefore offers the advantage that it is now possible for the first time to enable a backlash-free, stress-free and linear height adjustment of a weapon-side adjustment plate in relation to a weapon-side base rail.
[0018] First, it should be noted that the weapon-side base rail can exist in various designs. It can either form a single unit with the monoblock, which is rigidly connected to the barrel, or it can be attached to the weapon or the monoblock as a separate, plate-shaped part.
[0019] In another embodiment, it can be connected only to the barrel, without a monoblock. In any case, there should be a fixed, non-sliding connection between the barrel or the monoblock and the weapon-side mounting, which is designed, for example, as a weapon-side base rail.
[0020] For the sake of simplicity, the following description assumes that a base rail is arranged on the weapon side – either on the barrel or on the monoblock connected to the barrel – on which the retaining means for elevation and / or windage adjustment are arranged. However, the invention is not limited to this, as the base rail can also be omitted. Therefore, the claims generally specify a weapon-side "retaining device" whose retaining means can be arranged either directly on the barrel or the monoblock, or on a base rail connected to the barrel or monoblock.
[0021] The same applies to the scope-side mounting, because the holding means arranged on the underside of the scope can either be directly part of the underside of the scope or are indirectly arranged on a mounting rail that is fixed or adjustable to the scope.
[0022] Therefore, when the following description refers to plate-shaped parts, such as a weapon-side base rail or a scope-side mounting rail, this is done solely for the sake of simplicity, because the mounting devices attached to the weapon-side base rail or the scope-side mounting rail can also be mounted directly on the weapon or the scope. The aforementioned parts are therefore generally referred to as "mounts," regardless of their plate-like nature.
[0023] If a height-adjustable knurled screw were used for height adjustment at the axial distance from the front horizontal pivot bearing at the rear end of the base rail, adjusting the height of the weapon-side adjustment plate, the disadvantage is that the knurled screw performs a straight, vertical sliding movement, while the weapon-side adjustment plate pivots around a front horizontal bearing. This results in the knurled screw being subjected to bending stress in known arrangements with a vertically adjustable knurled screw and an associated threaded bolt, and therefore being subject to high wear. This creates an undesirable bending or clamping connection, which is deliberately accepted in various weapon systems, but is subject to high wear and cannot be adjusted without stress or play.Another disadvantage is that the knurled screw cannot remain parallel to the adjustment plate, and therefore the full contact surface, which must absorb the impulse of the shot, is no longer present; this makes such an arrangement very unstable and unsafe.
[0024] Therefore, the aim of the invention is to enable a backlash-free and stress-free as well as linear adjustment of the mount of a telescopic sight on the weapon, without the need for adjustable parabolic curves or other stress-inducing eccentric adjustments that do not work linearly.
[0025] It is preferred that the elevation and / or windage adjustment of a telescopic sight mount consists of a bracket attached to the weapon barrel or monoblock (hereinafter also referred to as "weapon-side bracket"), which comprises at least a front, weapon-side projection on which a front, horizontal pivot bearing for a telescopic sight-side bracket is formed, wherein a rear weapon-side stud is arranged at an axial distance from the front pivot bearing, on which a pivoting threaded spindle supporting the rear part of the telescopic sight-side bracket is pivotable about a horizontal axis with tilting play in order to enable backlash-free, stress-free and linear elevation adjustment of the weapon-side bracket.
[0026] The technical teaching of the invention therefore lies in the fact that on the weapon side, at a distance from the front horizontal pivot bearing of the height adjustment device, a rear, vertically adjustable bearing is provided, which is formed by a pivot threaded spindle that carries the rear end of the scope-side mount and has an arc-shaped tilting play on a weapon-side stud bolt, wherein the radius of the arc has the front horizontal bearing as its center point, thus providing a stress-free height adjustment.
[0027] This achieves, as a first feature of the invention, a backlash-free adjustable height adjustment device. A second feature is that the two planes of the front, horizontal rotary bearing and the plane of the rear swiveling threaded spindle lie in a horizontal longitudinal plane, thus enabling stress-free height adjustment.
[0028] Because a threaded adjusting wheel is screwed onto the outer circumference of the swiveling threaded spindle, a counter wheel is screwed onto the opposite side, and the scope-side mount is clamped directly or indirectly between the two threaded nuts, it is possible to adjust the adjusting wheel in the height adjustment direction, whereby the adjusting wheel is more or less height-adjusted on the outer thread of the swiveling threaded spindle, and the swiveling threaded spindle simultaneously performs a tilting movement on the weapon-side stud bolt to compensate for the height adjustment.
[0029] This allows for a play-free and stress-free vertical adjustment of the scope-side mount on the threaded spindle, which can be locked in place with the counter-wheel. This also ensures that the adjustment wheel and the counter-wheel are always parallel and flush with the weapon-side adjustment plate, guaranteeing optimal absorption of the shot's impulse and maximum stability.
[0030] When adjusting the rear pivot bearing on the weapon-side adjustment plate, the counter wheel on the threaded spindle is first loosened. Then, the adjustment wheel underneath is turned up or down in the height adjustment direction on the external thread of the pivoting threaded spindle. During this process, the pivoting threaded spindle performs a tilting or pivoting movement in the form of an arc on the weapon-side cylindrical stud bolt. The radius of this tilting or pivoting movement is centered on the front horizontal pivot bearing. This results in a stress-free height adjustment because the adjustment wheel performs an adjustment movement on the arc-shaped pivoting threaded spindle, and the tilting or pivoting movement of the pivoting threaded spindle on the weapon-side stud bolt always follows the arc radius around the front horizontal pivot bearing.
[0031] If this height adjustment has been carried out using the adjusting wheel on the swivel threaded spindle, the counter wheel can be tightened again, thus ensuring the required linear, stress-free and backlash-free fixing of the weapon-side adjustment plate on the weapon-side base rail or the barrel of the weapon itself.
[0032] In principle, the rear elevation adjustment device is designed as a tilting or pivoting bearing because a round-cylindrical, sleeve-shaped pivoting threaded spindle, carrying an external thread, has an inner oval or elongated recess into which the round-cylindrical stud bolt on the weapon side engages. The sleeve-shaped pivoting threaded spindle is pivotable in a horizontal axis and is mounted on the round-cylindrical stud bolt on the weapon side with tight rotational clearance, thanks to its arc-shaped tilting play. It can therefore pivot in the vertical plane around the front horizontal bearing via the bore axis.
[0033] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the counter-wheel securing the weapon-side adjustment plate centers itself on the weapon-side adjustment plate in order to secure the adjustment plate without play on the height adjustment device.
[0034] Another feature of the invention is that, according to claim 12, a lateral adjustment device is provided in the area of the front pivot bearing, although the invention does not depend on this. In various embodiments, such a lateral adjustment device could also be omitted.
[0035] However, when using such a lateral adjustment device, the advantage is that the lateral adjustment device also allows for a backlash-free and stress-free adjustment of the weapon-side adjustment plate in relation to the weapon-side base rail.
[0036] The invention does not depend on achieving the advantages of the earlier patent EP 2 956 732 B1; that is, it does not necessarily require the advantage that, regardless of the scope's setting, such a scope could be adapted to different weapon-side settings without having to change the scope's adjustment mechanisms. However, it can also implement this advantage.
[0037] In a simple embodiment of the invention, it is therefore provided that the weapon-side adjustment plate is omitted, and that instead a telescopic sight with a mounting rail attached directly to the telescopic sight is placed directly on a weapon-side base rail or counter plate, and that the elevation and / or, if applicable, lateral adjustment means, which are the focus of the present invention, are arranged directly in the area between the telescopic sight and the weapon-side base plate.
[0038] The weapon-side base plate need not be in two parts; rather, a telescopic sight with an attached lower plate can be mounted directly onto the monoblock of a weapon or directly onto the barrel. The elevation adjustment device according to the invention is then arranged in the area between these two contact planes—between the underside of the telescopic sight and the top of the weapon, the monoblock, or the barrel. While this does not offer the advantages of the earlier patent EP 2 956 732 B1, it enables a stress-free, backlash-free, and linear adjustment of a telescopic sight mounted directly on the weapon, with the at least one adjustment device according to the invention being arranged in the dividing plane between the underside of the telescopic sight-side plate and the top of the barrel, the monoblock, or the weapon in general. This has the advantage that a telescopic sight can be used without its own adjustment means, because the adjustment means are located on the weapon side and not on the telescopic sight itself.
[0039] Naturally, the present invention can also be designed with the advantages of the earlier patent. This requires the presence of two weapon-side adjustable plates, namely a weapon-side counter plate on which an upper base rail is attached, which carries an upper adjustment plate. In this case, as in the earlier patent, a separating plane is arranged between the adjustment plate and the telescopic sight-side mounting rail. The elevation adjustment device according to the invention, and optionally the windage adjustment device, are then arranged between the weapon-side base rail (or directly on the weapon-side counter plate) and the weapon-side adjustment plate.
[0040] Therefore, the fixed part of the elevation adjustment device is designed as a base rail connected to the weapon, or as a monoblock, or as a barrel, and the tilt-adjustable part of the elevation adjustment device is designed as an adjustment plate on which the mounting rail of the telescopic sight is attached.
[0041] Therefore, when the following description refers to a weapon-side adjustment plate and a weapon-side base rail, this is to be understood in a general sense, because the weapon-side adjustment plate can be completely omitted and instead a mounting rail attached directly to the underside of the telescopic sight can be connected to the top of the weapon via the elevation and / or lateral adjustment means revealed here.
[0042] In this way, various variations of an altitude and lateral adjustment device according to the invention result, because in a first embodiment the general design is protected in which the adjustment means are arranged directly between the underside of a telescopic sight, which is held in a mounting rail, and the top of the weapon.
[0043] In In a different design, it may be provided that the height and lateral adjustment means are arranged in the area of the weapon, namely in the area between the dividing plane of a lower weapon-side base rail, which is attached directly to the monoblock or the barrel, and a weapon-side adjustment plate placed on top of it.
[0044] In the first embodiment, the weapon-side adjustment plate would therefore be omitted, and the height and adjustment means would be made directly between the weapon-side base rail or the barrel of the weapon or the monoblock and the underside of the telescopic sight.
[0045] In all embodiments, the telescopic sight itself may have its own adjustment means for elevation and windage. However, the invention does not depend on this.
[0046] Therefore, telescopic sights that do not have such adjustment mechanisms can also be used.
[0047] The invention therefore relates to a height and / or lateral adjustment of a telescopic sight mount with a bracket attached to the weapon barrel or to the monoblock, which consists of at least a front, weapon-side projection in which a front, horizontal pivot bearing is formed for a weapon-side adjustment plate or for the underside of a telescopic sight or for a mounting rail connected to the underside of the telescopic sight, wherein a rear weapon-side stud bolt is arranged on the weapon-side bracket at an axial distance from the front pivot bearing, on which a pivoting threaded spindle supporting the telescopic sight-side bracket is pivotable about a horizontal axis with tilting play in order to enable a backlash-free, stress-free and linear height adjustment of the telescopic sight or the mounting rail connected to the telescopic sight in relation to the weapon-side bracket.
[0048] It is preferred that the backlash-free, stress-free and linear height adjustment in the rear bearing is achieved with a height-adjustable swivel threaded spindle which, due to its tilting play, performs an arc-shaped adjustment movement whose radius has the front horizontal rotary bearing as its center point.
[0049] An advantage is that the two planes of the front, horizontal rotary bearing and the plane of the rear swiveling threaded spindle lie in a horizontal longitudinal plane, thus enabling stress-free height adjustment.
[0050] The subject matter of the present invention is not only derived from the subject matter of the individual patent claims, but also from the combination of the individual patent claims with one another.
[0051] All information and features disclosed in the documents, including the abstract, and in particular the spatial configuration shown in the drawings, could be claimed as essential to the invention, insofar as they are novel individually or in combination compared to the prior art. The use of the terms "essential," "according to the invention," or "essential to the invention" is subjective and does not imply that the features so designated must necessarily be part of one or more patent claims.
[0052] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to drawings illustrating only one embodiment. Further essential features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the drawings and their description.

[0054] In Figure 1 Figure 1 shows the side view of a hunting or sporting weapon, which essentially consists of a front gun barrel 1 connected to a monoblock 14a, which is designed on its upper side as a gun-side base rail 14.
[0055] The monoblock 14a is connected to the system box 47, and the system box 47 carries the fore-end 10 on its front and the buttstock 7 on its rear. A butt plate 6 is attached to the buttstock 7, on which a cheek piece 5 is attached.
[0056] The monoblock 14a is closed at the rear by the breechblock 4, and a magazine (not shown) is fed from below at the underside of the breechblock 4. A pistol grip 8 is provided, to which a front trigger 9 is attached.
[0057] A weapon-side adjustment plate 3 is arranged on the weapon-side base rail 14, which can also be directly formed on the top of the monoblock 14a, and the height adjustment device 44 according to the invention and - if a lateral adjustment is desired - also the lateral adjustment device 45 are arranged between the two plates 3, 14.
[0058] It follows that the fixed part of the height adjustment device (44) is designed as an adjustment plate (3) which is adjustable on a base rail (14, 14a) connected to the weapon and that the tilt-adjustable part of the height adjustment device (44) is designed as a mounting rail (46) of the telescopic sight (2).
[0059] Accordingly, a telescopic sight mounting rail 46 is attached to the weapon-side adjustment plate 3, which enables the telescopic sight with the attached mounting rail 46 to be lifted off the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 by means of a clamping lever.
[0060] The telescopic sight 2 itself can have additional adjustment means for elevation and lateral adjustment, with associated knurled wheels provided, so that, for example, the telescopic sight can be adjusted vertically and, if necessary, laterally in the directions of arrow 15 using its own adjustment means.
[0061] It may also be provided that the weapon barrel 1 is designed with the monoblock 14,14a as an exchange barrel 17, which means that the entire weapon barrel can be attached to and removed from the system box using suitable fastening means.
[0062] In Figure 2 Details of the height adjustment device 44 are shown below. Figure 1 The diagram shows that a parting line 48 exists between the upper scope-side mounting rail 46 and the weapon-side adjustment plate 3. This allows the scope 2 to be removed from the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 via the parting line 48.
[0063] In the space between the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 and the weapon-side base rail 14 arranged below it, an adjustment plane 49 is defined, which serves for the height and lateral adjustment of the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 to the weapon-side base rail 14, which is firmly connected to the weapon.
[0064] The height adjustment device 44 essentially works with an upper counter wheel 11, which according to Figure 9 is located above the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 and presses this against an adjusting wheel 12 below it.
[0065] In this process, the focus shifts – according to the later Figure 9- the counter wheel 11 on associated attachments of the weapon-side adjustment plate 3.
[0066] The adjustment direction of the height adjustment device 44 is indicated by the arrow directions 16 in Figure 2 specified.
[0067] A preferred feature of the invention is that the height adjustment device 44 operates with a cylindrical swivel threaded spindle 13 according to the invention, on whose external thread 54 the adjusting wheel 12 can be screwed up and down in a vertical direction as a threaded nut and the respective height-adjusted screw setting can be fixed (locked) with the adjusting wheel 12 by the counter wheel 11.
[0068] The Figure 3 shows the top view of the monoblock 14a with the monoblock-side (weapon-side) base rail 14 and the front pivot bearing 20 for pivoting the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 in a horizontal axis of rotation 20, 32 to the weapon-side base rail 14.
[0069] Furthermore, the Figures 3 and 4 also the lateral adjustment device 45 arranged at the front of the arrangement, which enables lateral adjustment between the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 and the monoblock-side or weapon-side base rail 14 via a lateral support 21.
[0070] In comparison between Figure 3 and Figure 4 Further features can be seen from the diagram. First, the arrow directions 25 show the setting of the lateral adjustment device 45 in relation to the adjustment plate 3. The lateral support 21 serves for lateral adjustment and has an axis 26. Figure 3 also shows the in Figure 1 The clamping lever 50 shown, with which the scope-side mounting rail 46 can be removed from the upper weapon-side adjustment plate 3.
[0071] The arc-shaped arrow 43 indicates the arc-shaped direction of movement of the pivoting threaded spindle 13 when adjusting the height of the adjusting wheel 12 on the weapon-side stud bolt 28. The counter-wheel 11 serves to lock the setting of the adjusting wheel 12 and to secure the scope-side mounting device without play.
[0072] Out of Figure 5Further details of the height adjustment according to the invention are described below, wherein the height adjustment is carried out in the directions of arrow 16. For this purpose, the upper adjustment plate 3 on the weapon side has a front horizontal pivot bearing 20 about which the pivoting movement for height adjustment in the directions of arrow 16 takes place. For this purpose, a cylindrical stud bolt 28 is fixedly arranged on the upper side of the monoblock-side base rail 14, the free, vertical end of which engages in an oval recess 38 in the pivoting threaded spindle 13, so that the pivoting threaded spindle 13 is pivotably mounted in a horizontal pivot bearing 19 with tilting play on the stud bolt 28.
[0073] Due to the oval shape of the recess 38 in the interior of the pivoting threaded spindle 13, with its longitudinal extension in the longitudinal plane of the weapon barrel, the pivoting threaded spindle 13 has a tilting play on the weapon-side stud 28 only in the direction of the bore axis 51, but not in the transverse direction. In the transverse direction, it has an interference fit on the stud 28 and is fixed on the stud 28 in a horizontal axis in a pivot bearing 19 by a pin 35. This allows the pivoting threaded spindle 13 to pivot in the directions of arrow 24 about the laterally attached, approximately horizontal pin 35, thus defining the pivot bearing 19.
[0074] The Figure 5This shows that the pivot bearing 19, formed by the pin 35, lies on the same longitudinal plane, namely the horizontal plane 23, which also intersects the front pivot bearing 20 at its center. This ensures backlash-free and stress-free pivoting of the upper, weapon-side adjustment plate 3 relative to the lower, monoblock-side base rail 14 in the directions of arrow 16.
[0075] The bottom side of the swivel screw spindle 13 has according to Figure 5 because of the necessary tilting play, there is also a vertical play to the surface of the underlying monoblock-side base rail 14.
[0076] The counter wheel 11 is threaded internally onto the upper part of the external thread of the pivoting threaded spindle 13. The lower, opposite adjusting wheel 12 is also threaded internally onto the same external thread 54 of the pivoting threaded spindle 13. When the adjusting wheel 13 is turned, the rear end of the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 can be pivoted about the front horizontal pivot bearing 20 in the direction of arrow 16, because the adjusting wheel supports the rear end of the scope-side mount. In the exemplary embodiment, the scope-side mount is implemented by a mounting rail 46, which is detachably connected to the weapon-side adjustment plate 3.
[0077] After the adjustment wheel 12 has been turned, the height setting of the telescopic sight-side mount thus achieved is fixed again with the counter wheel 11.
[0078] The lateral adjustment is also implemented in a stress-free and linear manner, as the side support 21 is arranged separately from the rotary bearing 20 in the front area of the adjustment device, with the lateral adjustment device 45 operating independently of the height adjustment device 44.
[0079] The side support 21 lies in the same horizontal plane 23 as the swivel bearing 20 for the height adjustment device, so that the side adjustment is not affected when the height is adjusted.
[0080] When the lateral adjustment 45 is set, the height adjustment 44 is not affected; this is achieved by the bearing of the weapon-side base rail 14 between the counter wheel 11 and the adjusting wheel 12 with the through hole 37. The weapon-side base rail 14 can therefore rotate between the counter wheel 11 and the adjusting wheel 12.
[0081] Out of Figure 5It can also be seen that the weapon barrel 1 is connected to the cartridge chamber 18 at the rear. From Figure 6 Further details of the weapon-side base rail 14 can be found in the illustration, which is shown as a monoblock 14a in the illustrated embodiment.
[0082] The monoblock 14a has a cylindrical stud bolt 28 on its upper side, which engages at its free upper end in the oval recess 38 of the swivel thread spindle 13 and forms a horizontal rotary bearing 19 with the swivel thread spindle 13.
[0083] This gives the cylindrical swivel threaded spindle 13 a tilting play directed towards the bore axis 51 on the stud bolt 28, which engages the oval recess 38. At an axial distance from the stud bolt 28, a pocket 29 is provided on the upper side of the weapon-side base rail 14, towards the front pivot bearing, for receiving a transversely extending pin 22, which serves to limit the height adjustment. According to... Fig. 5 The pin 22 is inserted into the weapon-side adjustment plate 3. The pocket 29 has a clearance for the pin 22 inserted into the transverse bore in the weapon-side adjustment plate 3, by which the height adjustment travel between the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 and the weapon-side base rail 14 takes place.
[0084] Out of Figure 7 Further details of the lateral adjustment device 45 can be found in the information provided above. The previously mentioned section... Figure 5The illustrated side support 21 consists of two opposing support screws 34. When one support screw is turned and the opposite support screw is loosened, resulting in an adjustment of the side adjustment mechanism, the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 is moved along the pivot bearing 31 on the pin 32 in the lateral adjustment direction. The pin 32 is fixed in the pivot bearing 31, and because the pin 32 sits in an enlarged elongated hole 33, which is aligned longitudinally with its longitudinal axis, the lateral adjustment can be made without stress, and simultaneously, independently, the height adjustment can be made around the pivot bearing 20. The play in the elongated hole 33 is therefore required for the lateral adjustment device 45. This ensures that the lateral adjustment device 45 is free of stress.
[0085] In general, it can be stated that the front part of the weapon-side base rail 14 carries a raised front projection 52 in which the various adjustment options for elevation and lateral adjustment 45 are located. Regarding the elevation adjustment device 44, the pivot bearing 20 is present, which engages with the pin 32 in an enlarged elongated hole 33 with play, the longitudinal axis of the elongated hole 33 being aligned with the bore axis 51.
[0086] According to the representation in Figure 5 The pivotable pin 32 passes through a rotary bearing 31, which is mounted without play in the front attachment because the rotary bearing 31 is rotatably mounted in a bore 30 in the area of the front attachment 52.
[0087] The pin 32 is held without play in the pivot bearing 31 in the weapon-side adjustment plate 3. The pin 32 therefore engages with its two opposite bolt-side ends in corresponding, not shown, fitting bores in the area of the weapon-side adjustment plate 3.
[0088] This means that the pin 32 is pressed into the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 and into the rotary bearing 31 without play, which is rotatably arranged without play in an associated pocket 30 of the weapon-side base rail 14.
[0089] It should be noted that the rotary bearing 31 is rotatably mounted in the bore 30.
[0090] From the Figures 8 and 9 Further details of the height adjustment device 44 emerge. It can be seen that the swiveling threaded spindle 13 is a round cylindrical part which has an inner oval recess 38, as shown in Figure 13 depicted.
[0091] The stud bolt 28 engages in the interior of the recess 38, its base being connected to the upper side of the weapon-side base rail 14 or directly to the barrel 1 or the monoblock 14. Due to the presence of the oval recess 38, a tilting play 53 results for the pivot threaded spindle 13 on the round cylindrical stud bolt 28, as described above. Figure 13 can be seen from this.
[0092] Thus, the swiveling threaded spindle 13 can be pivoted around the rotary bearing 19 on the stud bolt in the pivoting direction 24. According to Figure 9 and 10The adjusting wheel 12 is screwed onto the lower end of the external thread 54 of the pivoting threaded spindle 13 and rests against the underside of the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 – or, not shown, directly against the underside of the telescopic sight 2 or its mounting rail 46. Evenly spaced bores 41 are provided around the outer circumference of the adjusting wheel 12, which are suitable for tool engagement in order to rotate the adjusting wheel 12 with its internal thread on the external thread 54 of the pivoting threaded spindle 13 using a suitable tool.
[0093] The weapon-side adjustment plate 3 has a continuous through-hole 37, which allows vertical play between the underside of the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 and the top of the weapon-side base rail 14, thus enabling the passage of the pivoting threaded spindle 13 with its pivoting movement in the direction of arrow 24 without collision.
[0094] The counter wheel 11 also has an internal thread, which is screwed onto the upper part of the external thread 54 of the swiveling threaded spindle 13. A wedge-shaped cone 27 is formed on the lower circumference of the counter wheel 11, which interacts with a corresponding counter cone in the area of a recess in the area of the weapon-side adjustment plate 3. This centers the weapon-side adjustment plate 3, which rests on the adjusting wheel 12, with its corresponding counter cone via the cone 27 of the counter wheel 11 to the center of the swiveling threaded spindle 13. The counter wheel 11 is rotatable in an enlarged recess 36 of the weapon-side adjustment plate 3.
[0095] Reference numeral 39 indicates the threaded bore in the counter wheel 11, with whose internal thread the counter wheel 11 is screwed onto the external thread 54 of the swivel thread spindle 13.
[0096] Evenly spaced bores 40 are arranged around the outer circumference of the counter-rotating wheel 11, allowing the wheel to be rotated with a suitable tool by engaging these bores. This makes it possible to lock the height adjustment made on the swivel threaded spindle 13 using the adjusting wheel 12 to the counter-rotating wheel 11, thus ensuring that the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 is held between the adjusting wheel 12 and the counter-rotating wheel 11 without play.
[0097] By using two opposing parts, namely the counter-wheel 11 and the adjusting wheel 12, any thread play that may be present on the external thread 54 of the swiveling threaded spindle 13 is eliminated because the two parts 11 and 12 lock against each other. Therefore, when the counter-wheel 11 is loosened, the adjusting wheel 12 can be screwed up or down on the external thread 54 of the swiveling threaded spindle 13, and the weapon-side adjustment plate 3 will then perform a backlash-free and stress-free pivoting movement around the front pivot bearing 20 in the directions of arrow 16. During this movement, the swiveling threaded spindle 13 tilts around the pivot bearing 19 with its tilting play 53, which is Figure 6 is shown and in Figure 10 is only drawn with its axis.
[0098] Because the pivoting threaded spindle 13 pivots, it is held at a distance from the upper side of the weapon-side base rail 14 by the radius clearance 42. To avoid over-constraint of the height adjustment device 44, it is advantageous to maintain the play shown in the recess 36 and also in the area of the through-hole 37, which is arranged between the two opposing threaded wheels 11, 12, thus avoiding any constructive or geometric over-constraint.
[0099] The adjusting wheel 12 always rests with its flanks on the same side of the swivel threaded spindle 13. This ensures that when it is turned counterclockwise or clockwise and the counter-wheel is tightened after adjusting the wheel, there is no change in the height of the adjusting wheel setting, because the backlash present in every conventional threaded connection is thus eliminated. This makes the adjustment particularly reliable.
[0100] The Figures 10 and 11The front part of the telescopic sight mount is shown, including the parts for the lateral adjustment device 45. The parting line 48 runs above the weapon-side adjustment plate 3. A recess 55 is arranged on the underside of the adjustment plate 3, which surrounds the adjustment means on the weapon-side base rail 14 or the monoblock 14a for lateral and elevation adjustment with axial and radial play for the adjustment travel. A front projection 52 is integrally formed on the weapon-side base rail 14 or the monoblock 14a, in the front part of which the lateral support 21 is rotatably arranged. Axially behind this is the pivot bearing 31 for the elevation adjustment device 44, with the pivot bearing 20 being arranged in the form of a pivotable pin 32 within the pivot bearing 31, which is designed as a block. The block of the pivot bearing has a clearance 53, which is perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. Figure 11extends to avoid constructive or geometric overdetermination.
[0101] The Figure 12 The monoblock 14a on the weapon barrel side, with its front projection 52 and a thread 56 for the support screws 34 of the lateral adjustment device 45, is shown. Furthermore, an elongated hole 33 in the monoblock 14a is shown.
[0102] The rear parts, which are fixed to the monoblock 14a, consist of a vertical pin 57 in which a pocket 29 for a pin 22 is arranged as a height adjustment limiter. At an axial distance behind this is the receptacle 28 with the rotary bearing 19 for the swiveling threaded spindle 13.
[0103] The Figure 13 The perspective view of the swivel screw spindle 13 shows that the swivel screw spindle 13 has an external thread 54 for screwing on counter wheel 11 and adjusting wheel 12.
[0104] In a modified version not shown in the drawing, the outer circumference of the swivel screw 13 may not be cylindrical, but oval, like the inner recess 38. The external thread 54 then extends only over a portion of the outer circumference. However, for the sake of simplicity, the following description assumes a cylindrical swivel screw 13.
[0105] The cylindrical body thus has a transverse bore for the rotary bearing 19. Inside the cylindrical body is an elongated recess 38 for receiving the bolt-shaped, oval projection 28 (see Fig. 12 ) provided, which is connected with its lower side to the monoblock 14a or the base rail 14 or directly to the barrel 1 of the weapon. A radius clearance 42 is arranged on the bottom side of the pivoting threaded spindle 13 to accommodate the tilting movement of the pivoting threaded spindle 13.
[0106] This shows Figure 14 The side view of the swivel thread spindle 13, where the same parts are provided with the same reference numerals.
[0107] The Figure 15 shows the details of the height adjustment device 44 with a perspective view of the swiveling threaded spindle 13 according to the Figure 13 and 14 with further details shown. It can be seen that the bearing axis 51 intersects the elongated recess 38 centrally in the direction of its longitudinal extension, and that the stud bolt 28, which is attached to 14 or 14a, has a front and rear clearance 53 with respect to the pivoting threaded spindle 13. This pivoting clearance 53 allows the pivoting threaded spindle 13 to pivot in an arc-shaped motion on the stud bolt 28 in the vertical plane through the bearing axis 51 when the adjusting wheel 12 is actuated with the counter wheel 11 released, with the pivoting occurring about the rotary bearing 19.
