Description

[0001] TITLE

[0002] Deflection bend

[0003] TECHNICAL FIELD

[0004] The present invention relates to a deflection bend for a downpipe according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0005] STATE OF THE ART

[0006] Downpipes are used to carry wastewater away and are usually arranged vertically in buildings. However, many downpipes also have sections that run horizontally or are slightly inclined to the horizontal, for example, at an angle of a few degrees. The vertical section is connected to the horizontal section via a bend to divert the flow from the vertical to the horizontal.

[0007] Such a deflection bend is known, for example, from EP 1 882 786.

[0008] The transition between a vertical section and a horizontal section is preferably designed so that the wastewater is diverted with as little loss as possible. This means that the wastewater still reaches the horizontal section with a high level of energy, so that the wastewater can flow as far as possible through the horizontal section. In practice, the preferred solution is to provide two 45° bends connected to each other by a straight piece of pipe. This has the advantage of reducing hydraulic losses. However, this solution has the disadvantage that it requires a lot of installation space. Furthermore, this solution has the disadvantage that with large heads, a bypass line must be provided to equalize the pressure.

[0009] The deflection bend disclosed in EP 2 952 752 offers a certain degree of relief. The deflection bend has a guide element in the area of the curved section, which prevents the flow medium from splashing up transversely to the flow direction. This has the advantage of eliminating the need for the aforementioned workaround.

[0010] Although very good flushing performance can be achieved with the deflection bend according to EP 2 952 752, practical applications give rise to the desire for more flexible installation options.

[0011] PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION

[0012] Based on this prior art, the invention is based on the object of specifying a deflection bend which keeps the flow loss as small as possible and creates more flexible installation options.

[0013] These and other objects are achieved by the deflection bend according to claim 1. Accordingly, a deflection bend for a downpipe for discharging a multi-phase flow medium, in particular consisting of water, solids and air,

[0014] - a first tube section extending along a first central axis,

[0015] - a curved section adjoining this first pipe section with an outer curve side and an inner curve side, which curved section extends along a center line curved around a curve axis,

[0016] - a second pipe section adjoining the curved section and extending along a second central axis,

[0017] - a flow divider arranged inside the first pipe section with two guide surfaces extending away from each other, the flow divider being designed to break up the film flow of the flow medium, and

[0018] - a guide structure arranged on the inside of the curve section or in the deflection bend on the outside of the curve to guide the flow medium in the curve section.

[0019] The guide structure comprises a channel-shaped guide section and, on each side of the channel-shaped guide section, at least two guide steps with stepped surfaces. The guide surfaces of the flow divider and the stepped surfaces are arranged relative to each other in such a way that a partial volume of an annular flow torn open by the flow divider is directed to the stepped surfaces.

[0020] The arrangement of the flow divider, which directs the water of the ruptured annular flow onto the step surfaces, has the advantage that the entire water volume of the annular flow is distributed between the channel-shaped guide section and the guide steps. This allows for a directed flow without lateral waves.

[0021] Furthermore, the arrangement of the guide stages distributes the confluence of the flow medium over a greater length in the curve section, which calms the flow overall and causes less loss.

[0022] Preferably, the flow divider is positioned relatively close to the guide structure, i.e., no further than a distance corresponding to the maximum pipe diameter of the first pipe section. Without guide steps, the drainage capacity would decrease because the water jet would shoot uncontrollably from the guide surfaces into a pipe bend. The guide steps ensure controlled flow deflection, which means that the flushing performance is not impaired with a compact deflection bend. Consequently, the deflection bend can also solve a preferred problem of a more compact deflection bend.

[0023] For practical installation situations, it is often desired that branches, such as angle branches or floor branches, or deflection elements can be connected to the top of the deflection bend. Such branches or deflection elements are located, for example, a short distance from the top of a building floor, through which the first pipe section extends. By arranging the flow divider and guide steps, the flow divider can be placed closer to the curved section. This allows the flow divider to be installed in the opening in the building floor, which allows the connection of the deflection element.

[0024] Thanks to good flushing performance, a horizontal drain pipe connected to the second pipe section can be designed to be longer with minimal gradient.

[0025] Furthermore, the cross-sectional shape of the curved section is designed by the arrangement of the guide structure in such a way that movement of the flow medium, in particular of the water and solids, transverse to the flow direction is suppressed or prevented. The guide steps and the wall surfaces preferably run in the flow direction of the flow medium.

[0026] Subsequently, a reference plane is used to define relative positions between individual features. The reference plane runs through the first central axis. Furthermore, the reference plane runs perpendicular to the second central axis. In other words, the reference plane runs perpendicular to the plane of symmetry of the pipe bend and through the first central axis.

[0027] Preferably, the guide structure is arranged such that the partial volume of the annular flow directly impacts the guide structure from the side of the reference plane opposite the flow divider. The annular flow of this partial volume is introduced directly into the guide structure.

[0028] Preferably, the guide structure extends in a projection plane extending perpendicularly through the first central axis and located at the level of the entry into the curved section, at most to the reference plane. In other words, this means that the guide structure lies exclusively on the aforementioned side of the reference plane at the entry. In other words, this means that the guide structure lies on the outside of the curved section.

[0029] In a first variant, the guide surfaces of the flow divider extend to the reference plane.

[0030] In a second variant, the guide surfaces of the flow divider do not extend to the reference plane, whereby the partial volume of the torn-up annular flow leaves the guide surfaces on both sides as a jet flowing on the inner surface of the first pipe section and entrains the annular flow, which flows downwards outside the guide surfaces of the flow divider, in the direction of the jet to the guide walls.

[0031] Preferably, the step surfaces are curved surfaces which extend in a curve around the curve axis.

[0032] Preferably, the step surfaces are connected to one another via wall surfaces, wherein the wall surfaces extend at least in sections at an angle of -10° to +10°, in particular substantially parallel, to a plane spanned by the first central axis and the second central axis. Substantially parallel is understood to mean that the wall surfaces are parallel or at a small angle to said plane.

[0033] The wall surfaces and the step surfaces preferably run in the flow direction of the flow medium.

[0034] The wall surfaces prevent the flow medium from splashing along the pipe wall perpendicular to the flow direction, which can improve the performance of the deflection bend and thus also the flushing performance.

[0035] The wall surfaces preferably have a height of 5 to 15 millimeters. The height of the wall surfaces preferably corresponds to the thickness of the annular flow.

[0036] Preferably, the channel-shaped guide section is laterally delimited by the wall surfaces of the guide steps, which adjoin a base surface of the guide section. The height of the wall surfaces in the radial direction is preferably substantially the same for each guide step.

[0037] Preferably, exactly two, exactly three, or exactly four guide steps are arranged on each side of the channel-shaped guide section. The above-mentioned number of guide steps offers various advantages. The guide steps thus create a contour that engages well with the film flow, so that a portion of the film flow always rests on the contour. Furthermore, the deflection bend can be produced very easily using a blow molding process.

[0038] Preferably, the parts of the guide structure on one side of the plane extending through the two central axes of the two pipe sections are symmetrical to the parts of the guide structure on the other side of the plane.

[0039] Preferably, the channel-shaped guide section is located centrally between the guide steps.

[0040] Preferably, the guide surfaces of the flow divider intersect at an intersection point, wherein the guide surfaces extend from the intersection point in the flow direction and along the circumference of the first pipe section, and / or wherein the intersection point lies in a plane spanned by the first central axis and the second central axis, and / or wherein the intersection point lies opposite the inlet into the channel-shaped guide section with respect to the first central axis, and / or that the flow divider is arranged opposite the outside of the curve, so that the flow medium can be guided from the inside of the curve to the outside of the curve and the guide structure arranged there.

[0041] Preferably, the guide surfaces are oriented towards the guide steps in such a way that an imaginary continuation of the guide surfaces is directed towards the outer guide steps.

[0042] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the guide surfaces extend, viewed in a projection plane perpendicular to the first central axis, over a circular arc on the inside of the first pipe section around the first central axis. The circular arc encloses an angle a of 90° to 120°. This means that, viewed circumferentially, the flow divider extends around the circumference of the first pipe section at an angle of 90° to 120°.

[0043] Preferably, the flow divider is arranged symmetrically to the plane spanned by the first central axis and the second central axis.

[0044] Preferably, the extension of the flow divider in the flow direction from the intersection point to the free end of the guide surfaces corresponds at most to the inner diameter of the first pipe section.

[0045] Preferably, the intersection point of the guide surfaces is at a distance from the entry into the curved section, wherein the distance corresponds at most to the pipe diameter of the first pipe section.

[0046] Preferably, the guide surfaces form an angle ß of 60° to 120°. This means that the guide surfaces are at an angle of 60° to 120° to each other.

[0047] Particularly preferably, the flow divider is designed as an elevation from the inner wall of the first pipe section.

[0048] Preferably, the flow divider has a substantially inverted V shape or the upper edge of a miter. Preferably, the flow divider is integrally formed on a wall. Preferably, the flow divider has a radial thickness that substantially corresponds to the thickness of the film flow, with this thickness preferably being less than about 2 cm.

[0049] The flow divider is preferably designed as an elevation from the inner wall of the first pipe section.

[0050] Preferably, the flow divider has a plurality of support ribs which, viewed in the flow direction, are arranged below the guide surfaces and in contact with the guide surfaces, such that the guide surfaces are supported by the support ribs.

[0051] Preferably, the guide structure further comprises inflow surfaces which are arranged in an inlet region in the flow direction in front of the guide stages and which guide the flow medium onto the guide stages.

[0052] The distance between the wall surfaces narrows in the direction of flow. The inlet area can thus be designed for optimal flow, so that the inlet area, especially upstream of the guide steps, exhibits low hydraulic resistance.

[0053] Preferably, in a guide area, the guide steps run at the same radial distance from the channel-shaped guide section.

[0054] In the guide area, the wall surfaces that laterally limit the channel-shaped guide section are arranged at a constant distance from each other.

[0055] Preferably, in a transition area, the guide steps continuously transition into the channel-shaped guide section.

[0056] Preferably, in an outlet region, the channel-shaped guide section merges into the cross section of the second pipe section and preferably extends into the second pipe section.

[0057] Viewed in the direction of flow, the inlet area adjoins the end of the first pipe section. The inlet area is followed by the guide area with the guide steps. The guide area is then followed by the transition area. The outlet area adjoins the transition area.

[0058] The entry area preferably extends over an angular section of 10° to 20°. The guide area preferably extends over an angular section of 10° to 30°. The transition area preferably extends over an angular section of 30° to 60°.

[0059] Preferably, both pipe sections are cylindrical on the outside and have a flange section. A downpipe or drainpipe can be attached to the cylindrical outside, with the flange section acting as a stop.

[0060] A downpipe comprises a downpipe and a drainpipe, wherein the downpipe is oriented vertically in the installed position and the drainpipe is oriented substantially horizontally, and a deflection bend as described above, wherein the deflection bend is arranged between the downpipe and the drainpipe, and wherein a ring flow can be provided to the deflection bend via the downpipe.

[0061] Further optional features of the deflection bend are described below:

[0062] Preferably, the guide structure is arranged exclusively on the outside of the curve and not on the inside. The outside of the curve is the side of the curve section with the largest curve radius, and the inside of the curve is the side of the curve section with the smallest curve radius.

[0063] The second central axis is inclined at an angle to the first central axis. The angle between the first and second central axes is preferably greater than 90°. The angle is particularly preferably in the range of 91° to 95°.

[0064] Preferably, the guide structure extends completely over the curved section. This means that the guide structure has a length that essentially corresponds to that of the curved section. Alternatively, the guide element or guide wall extends partially over the curved section.

[0065] Regardless of the length of the guide structure within the curved section, the guide element or guide wall can extend into one or both pipe sections. Particularly preferably, the guide structure is arranged such that it extends from the curved section into the second pipe section.

[0066] Particularly preferably, the guide structure is provided by an indentation from the outside in the area of the outside of the curve.

[0067] Particularly preferably, the cross-sectional area perpendicular to the center line of the deflection bend is constant over the entire length of the deflection bend.

[0068] Particularly preferably, the first pipe section and / or the second pipe section have a circular cylindrical cross-section.

[0069] Preferably, the centerline of the curved section has a variable radius, with the radius continuously increasing between the first pipe section and the second pipe section. Alternatively, the centerline of the curved section has a constant radius.

[0070] The deflection bend, i.e., the first pipe section, the curved section, and the second pipe section, as well as the guide structure and the flow divider, are preferably formed in one piece. Particularly preferably, the deflection bend is made of plastic, in particular, by blow molding. In another particularly preferred variant, multi-part production is also conceivable, with the individual parts being welded together, thus creating a single-piece structure. For example, the curved section can be produced by blow molding, and the two pipe sections can be produced by injection molding, with the parts then being welded together.

[0071] Further embodiments are specified in the dependent claims.

[0086] DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0087] The figures show a particularly preferred embodiment of the deflection bend 1 according to the present invention.

[0088] Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the deflection bend 1. The deflection bend 1 comprises a first pipe section 3, a curved section 4 adjoining the first pipe section 3 and a second pipe section 7 adjoining the curved section 4. The first pipe section 3 extends along a first central axis M1. The curved section 4 has an outer curved side 5 and an inner curved side 6. The curved section 4 extends along a center line M, which extends in a curve around at least one curved axis K. The radius of curvature of the curved section 4 is not constant, which is why different regions of the curved section 4 extend around different curved axes K. The second pipe section 7 extends along a second central axis M2.

[0089] The two pipe sections 3, 7 are each cylindrical on the outside, allowing them to be connected to a downpipe or a drainage pipe. Figures 2 to 4 show sectional views of the deflection bend 1. On the inside, the deflection bend 1 has a guide structure 11 in the area of the curved section 4, which guides the flow medium S in the curved section 4. The guide structure 11 can increase the drainage capacity of the deflection bend 1. The guide structure 11 is arranged on the outside 5 of the curve.

[0090] The guide structure 11 has a channel-shaped guide section 12. On both sides of the channel-shaped guide section 12, the guide structure 11 has at least two guide steps 13 with step surfaces 14. The channel-shaped guide section 12 is arranged further away from the curve axis K than the guide steps 13. Accordingly, the guide steps 13 are closer to the curve axis K than the channel-shaped guide section 12. In the embodiment shown, two guide steps 13 are arranged on each side, laterally to the channel-shaped guide section 12. The design of the guide steps 13 is explained further below.

[0091] Opposite the outer side 5 of the curve, the deflection bend 1 further comprises a flow divider 8. The flow divider 8 is arranged in the first pipe section 3. The flow divider 8 is designed such that the film flow of the flow medium S, which flows downwards along the circumference of the first pipe section 3, is broken up. The flow divider 8 comprises two guide surfaces 9, 10 extending away from one another. The guide surfaces 9, 10 and the guide steps 13, in particular the step surfaces 14, are arranged relative to one another such that the partial volume of the annular flow broken up by the flow divider 8 is directed to the step surfaces 14. In other words, the guide surfaces 9, 10 are arranged in the first pipe section 3 in such a way that a jet of the flow medium, which flows away from the guide surfaces 9, 10 along the circumference of the first pipe section 3 in the direction of the curved section 5, impinges on the step surfaces 14. With the flow divider 8 orThe two guide surfaces 9, 10 guide the jet in a controlled manner onto the guide steps 13 and the step surfaces 14, respectively. After leaving the two guide surfaces 9, 10, the jet flows onto the inner surface of the first pipe section 3, entraining a portion of the annular flow located outside the guide surfaces 9, 10 and also redirecting this partial volume.

[0092] In the embodiment shown, the flow divider 8 is arranged with the guide surfaces 9, 10 such that, viewed in a projection plane running at right angles to the first central axis M1, the guide surfaces 9, 10 extend over a circular arc around the first central axis M1. The circular arc encloses an angle of 90° to 120°. In other words, the flow divider extends from a first geometric leg, which lies in the projection plane and extends away from the central axis M1, to a second geometric leg, which lies in the projection plane and extends away from the central axis M1, wherein the legs are at the said angle α to one another. The angle α is shown in Figure 5. The projection plane runs parallel to the drawing sheet surface in Figure 5. In other words, the flow divider 8 is arranged such that it does not extend beyond a reference plane R.The reference plane R passes through the first central axis M1 and is perpendicular to the second central axis M2. The reference plane R is shown in Figures 2 and 5 and, in Figure 2, extends perpendicular to the surface of the drawing sheet.

[0093] From the top view according to Figure 5, it can be clearly seen that the guide structure 11, in a projection plane which extends at right angles through the first central axis M1 and is located at the level of the entry into the curved section 4, is firstly located on the other side of the reference plane R than the flow divider 8 and secondly extends at most to the reference plane R. The film flow on the same side of the reference plane R strikes the guide structure 11 directly in the direction of fall and is then guided through the curved section in a controlled manner by the guide structure 11.

[0094] In the embodiment shown, the step surfaces 14 are designed as curved surfaces. The curved surfaces curve around the curve axis K, whereby the radius of curvature can be constant or variable.

[0095] The individual step surfaces 14 are connected to one another via wall surfaces 15. In the embodiment shown, the wall surfaces 15 run essentially parallel to a plane E. Essentially parallel means that the wall surfaces 15 run parallel or at a small angle of a few degrees to the plane E. The plane E runs through the first central axis M1 and the second central axis M2. The plane E extends centrally through the channel-shaped guide section 12.

[0096] The channel-shaped guide section 12 is bounded laterally by the wall surfaces 15 of the first guide step 13. The wall surfaces 15 adjoin a base surface 16 of the guide section 12. Opposite the base surface 16, the wall surfaces 15 are adjoined by the step surfaces 14, thus providing the first guide step 13. For the second guide step 13, a wall surface 15 of the step surfaces 14 adjoins the first guide step 13, with the wall surface 15 then in turn merging into a step surface 14, which then merges into the side wall of the curved section 4.

[0097] In the embodiment shown, the height of the wall surfaces 15 in the radial direction relative to the cam axis K is essentially the same for each of the guide steps 13. However, the height of the wall surfaces 15 can also be different.

[0098] The embodiment of the deflection bend 1 shown in the figures has exactly two guide steps 13. However, it is also conceivable to have three or four guide steps 13. The number of guide steps 13 depends essentially on the dimensions, i.e., the diameter of the deflection bend 1.

[0099] From Figure 3 it is further evident that the guide surfaces 9, 10 intersect at an intersection point 17. The guide surfaces 9, 10 extend from the intersection point 17 in the flow direction and along the circumference of the first raw section 3. The intersection point

[0100] 17 lies in the plane E, which, as mentioned above, is spanned by the first central axis M1 and the second central axis M2. The extent of the flow divider 8, seen in the direction of flow, from the intersection point 17 to the free end 20 of the guide surfaces 9, 10 corresponds at most to the inner diameter of the first pipe section 3. In a projection perpendicular to the first central axis M1 and approximately parallel to the second central axis M2, the two guide surfaces 9, 10 enclose an angle ß of 60° to 120°. Preferably, the intersection point 17 of the guide surfaces 9, 10 is at a distance from the inlet into the curved section 5, wherein the distance corresponds at most to the pipe diameter of the first pipe section 3. The guide surfaces 9, 10 are preferably designed symmetrically with respect to the plane E.

[0101] Furthermore, the flow divider 8 has a plurality of support ribs 18, which are arranged below the guide surfaces 9, 10 as seen in the flow direction and are in contact with the underside of the guide surfaces 9, 10. The guide surfaces 9, 10 are then supported by the support ribs

[0102] 18 supported accordingly.

[0103] Figure 6 schematically illustrates the deflection of the film flow in the deflection bend 1. As mentioned, the film flow flows along the inner walls of the first pipe section 3 toward the curved section 4. The flow divider 8 accordingly breaks up the film flow, and the broken-up partial volume is redirected toward the guide structure 11. There, the aforementioned partial volume encounters the guide steps 13, in particular the outer guide steps 13. The flow medium then flows through the curved section 4. The individual partial volumes are converged toward the second pipe section 7.

[0104] Figure 7 shows various areas of curve section 4. Figures 7a to 7e show corresponding cross-sectional views.

[0105] Section AA according to Figure 7a shows the inlet area EB. The guide structure 11 has inlet surfaces 19 in the inlet area EB, which provide the transition between the inner diameter of the first pipe section 3 and the guide stages 13. The flow medium flows to the guide stages 13 via the inlet surfaces 19.

[0106] Section BB in Figure 7b shows the guide area FB, which adjoins the inlet area EB. In the guide area FB, the guide steps 13 extend at the same radial distance from the channel-shaped guide section 12.

[0107] Section CC according to Figure 7c shows the transition area ÜB, which adjoins the guide area FB. In the transition area ÜB, the guide steps 13 continuously transition into the channel-shaped guide section 12. This means that with increasing distance from the guide area, the guide steps 13 become so similar that they are no longer present at the end of the transition area ÜB, or only the channel-shaped guide section 12 remains. Figure 7d shows section DD, where the transition of the guide steps 13 into the channel-shaped guide section 12 is almost complete.

[0108] Section EE according to Figure 7e shows the outlet area AB, which adjoins the transition area ÜB. In the outlet area, the channel-shaped guide section 12 merges into the cross-section of the second pipe section 7. The outlet area AB can also extend into the second pipe section 7.

[0109] The entry area EB preferably extends over an angular section of 10° to 20°. The guide area FB preferably extends over an angular section of 10° to 30°. The transition area ÜB preferably extends over an angular section of 30° to 60°. The angular sections are the angles that emanate from the curve axis K.
