AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing hardware arrangements for locking sliding sashes require different assemblies based on the type of locking mechanism, leading to inefficiencies in manufacturing and inventory management.

Method used

A fitting arrangement that includes a locking element connected to the drive rod, allowing it to engage with a locking part on the frame, compatible with various locking mechanisms such as bolt latches on the frame or hook latches on the sash, using a coupling element that extends through both the drive rod and strike plate openings.

Benefits of technology

Enables the use of a single hardware assembly for different locking methods, eliminating the need for multiple hardware types and enhancing security by preventing forced disengagement during break-in attempts.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a fitting arrangement for locking a displaceable wing, having a face plate for covering a fitting groove formed in a sliding wing, and a driving rod which is guided displaceably along the face plate translationally between a locking position and a release position. An elongated hole opening is formed in the face plate and an opening is formed in the driving rod, which opening is aligned at least in regions with the elongated hole opening and has a slot-like first opening portion with a first width and has a second opening portion with a width which is greater than the first width, with the first opening portion merging at one end into said second opening portion. The fitting arrangement furthermore comprises a catch element which is connected in terms of drive by means of a coupling element to the driving rod and which extends at least in the locking position through both the opening in the driving rod and also through the elongated hole opening in the face plate.
