Description

[0001] The field of invention is logistics.

[0002] More specifically, the invention relates to a package for the transport of objects between two destinations, the package incorporating means for retaining objects.

[0003] To transport an object safely and securely, packages such as boxes or cartons are known.

[0004] Generally speaking, parcels consist of a box with a base and a peripheral rim which together define an internal volume in which the object to be transported is housed.

[0005] The peripheral rim can be movable relative to the bottom of the crate. As such, it includes several panels that fold down onto the bottom or extend from the bottom of the crate.

[0006] The packages also include a lid that moves relative to the crate. These lids can, in particular, be in a closed position in which the lid seals the internal volume of the crate.

[0007] In order to protect the items being transported, some packages include restraints to hold the item to be transported in position within the crate.

[0008] There are known restraint systems that take the form of foam panels integrated into the crate and lid. These foam panels can be attached to the crate if necessary. In other words, the foam panels can only be integrated into the crate if their presence is required.

The lid cannot be properly closed to completely seal the box's interior. [0017] According to another known technique, the restraints take the form of a plastic envelope into which the object to be transported is slid; the envelope is then deformed so that its walls come into contact with the object to be transported and hold it in position.

[0018] According to one type, the envelopes can be attached to the bottom of the box and their deformation can be achieved, for example, by heating so as to shrink the material, generally a plastic material, so that it stiffens upon contact with the object.

[0019] One drawback of this solution is that the deformation of the envelope, when carried out by heating, cannot be done by everyone since this technique involves the use of specific heating equipment.

[0020] Indeed, heating methods, such as heat guns for example, must be used and may require special training so that only professionals can deform the envelope.

[0021] Furthermore, when the envelope is attached to the bottom of the box, this can present a major drawback for the integrity of the box, especially if it is made of cardboard, as excessive heat can destroy the cardboard by burning it.

[0022] Furthermore, inserting the item to be transported into the envelope may prove difficult, or even impossible.

[0023] This is particularly true if the object to be transported is inserted into the envelope once the crate is in shape, i.e. once the internal volume is defined, the peripheral rim of the crate forming a major obstacle to the insertion of the object into the envelope.

[0024] To overcome this, it may be necessary, firstly, to insert the object into the envelope, then to form the box, and finally to deform the envelope.

[0025] This represents a significant amount of handling time which can be detrimental to professionals and also impossible for individuals to carry out, particularly for deforming the envelope or shaping the box.

[0026] In a second type, the envelope can also be attached to a tray designed to be placed inside the crate. In this case, the object is placed inside the envelope, and then, to secure and hold the object in place, the envelope is deformed by folding the edges of the tray, thus stretching the two walls of the envelope to enclose the object. Once this is done, the folded tray can be inserted into the crate, and then the hinged lid can be closed.

[0028] Indeed, inserting the item into the envelope is straightforward; however, deforming the envelope, particularly folding its edges, is a complicated, even impossible, process, especially when the item is large and the envelope offers significant resistance to deformation. Deforming the envelope can then become time-consuming and discourage professionals, who may then opt for partial deformation or even offer a larger package, resulting in higher shipping costs for the end consumer.

[0029] In addition, this requires the storage of the crate, lid and retaining devices, which represents a total detrimental bulk and therefore an additional cost that is often passed on to the end customer.

[0030] Finally, another solution described in patent document published under number FR 3 102 162 describes a package, according to the preamble of claim 1, for transporting objects, comprising a crate and object retention means attached to the crate and defining an object reception volume. The retention means have an access opening to the reception volume.

A parcel (1) for transporting objects (O), comprising: - a case (2); - object (O) retention means (4) secured to the case (2) and defining a volume for receiving objects (O), the retention means (4) having an opening (41) to access the receiving volume; - actuation means (5) configured to change the size of the access opening (41), from a widened configuration allowing access to the receiving volume to a tightened configuration preventing access to the receiving volume, and wherein the retention means (5) wrap the object(s) (O) located in the receiving volume to immobilize them in the case (2), or vice versa, characterized in that the parcel (1) also comprises return means configured to maintain the access opening (41) in its widened configuration, the actuation means (5) acting against the return means in the tightened configuration of the access opening (41).

The parcel (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the actuation means (5) comprise: - a string (51) passing through apertures (46) made in the retention means (4) in the vicinity of the access opening (41), and - a tightening member (52) cooperating with the string (51) to keep it in the form of a loop.

The parcel (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the retention means (4) comprise: - a cover (42) secured to a bottom (21) of the case (2) at a first end and with a second end, opposite to the first end, forming the access opening (41), and - at least three elastically deformable rods (43) secured to the bottom (21) and to the cover (42), the return means being formed by the rods (43) which tend to fold when the access opening (41) is in its tightened configuration, and tend to recover an upright position when the access opening (41) is in its widened configuration.

4. The parcel (1) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the case (2) has a rectangular parallelepiped shape, and in that the retention means (4) comprise at least four elastically deformable rods (43), each rod (43) being located in a corner of the case (2).

5. The parcel (1) according to claim 3, characterized in that the case (2) has a rectangular parallelepiped shape, and in that the retention means (4) comprise at least four elastically deformable rods (43), each rod (43) being located on an edge of the case (2).

6. The parcel (1) according to any of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the retention means (4) are in the form of panels (45) each mounted rotatably on a bottom (21) of the case (2) by a first edge and with a second edge, opposite to the first edge, forming the access opening (41).

7. The parcel (1) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that each panel (45) comprises an elastically deformable reinforcement (451) and a canvas (452) stretched on the reinforcement (451), the return means being formed by the elastically deformable reinforcement (451).

8. The parcel (1) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the canvas (452) of each panel (45) is formed by an elastically deformable fabric.

9. The parcel (1) according to claim 6, characterized in that each panel (45) is made of a non-deformable material.

10. The parcel (1) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the return means also comprise springs (6) interposed between a bottom (21) of the case (2) and the panels (45).

11. The parcel (1) according to any of claims 6 to 10, characterized in that the retention means also comprise at least three elastically deformable rods (43) secured to the bottom (21).

12. The parcel (1) according to any one of claims 6 to 10, characterized in that the case (2) has a rectangular parallelepiped shape, and in that the retention means (4) comprise four panels (45) each extending along one side of the case (2).
