Description

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The object of the present invention application is the registration of a paving support part, which incorporates significant innovations and advantages over the techniques used up until now.

[0002] More specifically, the invention proposes the development of a paving support part, which due to the particular arrangement thereof, allows its advantageous attachment on a support surface in areas subject to frequent water exposure such as shower areas.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] In the current state of the art, many variants of prefabricated parts and panels for assembly in shower tray areas and similar are known, with different materials: fibre cement, plasterboard, composites with rigid foams of different nature and with different layers and surface finishes, etc.

[0004] To be used in indoor wet areas, most of the existing parts and / or panels have damp-proof versions or are specifically designed for use in said indoor wet areas, facilitating the waterproofing required therein.

[0005] Panels or parts based on mineral agglomerates in combination with reinforcing fibres or meshes, even with lightening fillers and water-repellent treatments, are much heavier and more difficult to handle and cut during installation than rigid foam composites. Furthermore, although they resist frequent contact with dampness well, the parts absorb and transmit the same, requiring complete waterproofing treatment of the connection of their perimeter edges with the walls and adjacent elements to provide continuity to the watertightness required.

[0006] Due to the standardisation of construction systems, the panels and parts intended to provide a waterproof and uniform base for the subsequent paving of the area with ceramic tiles or similar are sized in standard formats and widths and regulated by rules in terms of physical and mechanical features.

[0007] The present invention contributes to resolving the present problem and represents an improvement with respect to this type of existing parts and / or panels, since it is made up of different materials arranged in several layers to provide a composite product that allows correct waterproofing of the shower floor area, as well as optimal support for paving thereof with ceramic or similar material.DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0024] Other features and advantages of the paving support part will become apparent from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment, illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the attached drawings, in which:BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0025] Figure 1 is a schematic and cross-sectional view of a preferred embodiment of the paving support part of the present invention. Figure 1a is a schematic and cross-sectional view of another preferred embodiment of the paving support part of the present invention. Figure 2 is a schematic view and from different perspectives of a preferred embodiment of the paving support part of the present invention. Figure 3 is a schematic plan and elevation view of a preferred embodiment of the paving support part of the present invention. Figures 4 and 5 are schematic and cross-sectional views of another preferred embodiment of the paving support part of the present invention. DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0026] As shown schematically in Figure 1, the paving support part of the invention represented generically with reference 1, comprises a rigid core 2 of variable thickness and a waterproofing sheet 3, which are joined together so that the sheet 3 is superimposed on the core 2, the part 1 presenting a general geometry with the same thickness gradient which is given by the core 2, since said core 2 has a thickness gradient as can be seen in Figure 1, which entails creating at least one slope leaning towards a drainage point / area.

[0027] The core 2 can be made of rigid material such as a rigid foam of polymeric material, preferably XPS extruded polystyrene, EPS expanded polystyrene, or PUR polyurethane, among others.

[0028] The waterproofing sheet 3 comprises a non-woven fabric, which provides a favourable grip surface to the plating itself that is placed on the part 1 of the invention, precisely on the face where the aforementioned waterproofing sheet 3 is incorporated.

[0029] The core 2 and the sheet 3 are bonded together by means of co-injection, overinjection or thermowelding means, providing an attached bond of both of them.

[0030] This arrangement of part 1 results in an obverse side 11, with a continuous plane sloping towards a drainage point, and a flat reverse side 12, as can also be seen in Figure 1.

[0031] In a number of preferred embodiments of the paving support part of the invention, the waterproofing sheet 3 superimposed on the core 2 extends between 5 and 10 cm beyond the perimeter edges of said core 2, as schematically shown in figure 1a.

[0032] As can be seen schematically in Figure 2, the reverse side 12 of the part 1 has grooves 4. Said grooves 4 are enabled to house an adhesive foam, preferably a polyurethane foam (PUR).

[0033] Said adhesive foam allows the attachment of the reverse side 12 of the part 1 to a support surface, for example on the base of a wet area, such as a shower area, or another wet area with a drainage point, either in domestic, commercial or even industrial locations, the grooves 4 also being enabled for this purpose for the curing and subsequent expansion of the same foam in the attachment of the part 1.

[0034] Through said attachment means using adhesive foam, the invention substantially improves the state of the art, in that the setting and expansion of the adhesive material and its filling of said grooves 4 that the paving support part of the invention has on its reverse side 12, provides a high-intensity, tamper-proof bond with optimal mechanical features for the main application wherein said part 1 of the invention is intended to be used.

[0035] In addition, the paving support part of the invention also provides a substantial improvement in terms of the acoustic insulation that it provides, within a wet area where water circulates quite frequently, which improves the general comfort of said wet area within a specific room, either in a domestic or industrial / commercial environment.

[0036] Additionally, the adhesive foam provides greater reliability and speed in the installation operations of this type of prefabricated parts 1, since, in approximately 20 minutes, the part 1 can be correctly installed and attached in its operative position, while the state of the art, and with the application of other types of attachment and gluing means, requires assembly times for this type of parts which can be extended over several hours.

[0037] This is especially relevant in these applications where a mandatory surface leak test is required, so said test must be carried out once the part of the invention has been assembled and secured, so the professional who assembles the part can carry out the test minutes after assembly and setting, unlike the parts of the state of the art, where several hours are required for the product to be correctly attached, in order to start the aforementioned leak test, which substantially reduces the construction times of said wet areas, such as shower areas, among others.

[0038] Other preferred embodiments of the paving support part of the present invention may comprise different attachment materials for attaching the reverse side 12 of the same part 1 to a support surface, and which are additional to the expanding adhesive foam, being able to complement this material. These attachment materials can be cement-glue, adhesive PUR, adhesive putties, or combinations thereof.

[0039] The application of this type of materials with reduced or zero expansion also attaches the part 1 and improves the seating thereof since the aforementioned grooves 4 provide a greater grip and contact surface between the attachment material and the part 1 in the mechanical attachment thereof.

[0040] In a preferred embodiment, as seen in plan and elevation in Figure 3, the part 1 has a fold line 5 that runs transversely along the flat dimension thereof, and which is formed by a weakening in the thickness of the part 1.

[0041] Said fold line 5 results from a weakening in the thickness of the part 1, which provides a possibility of folding the entire flat extension of the part 1 into two halves, which entails a substantial logistical and handling advantage, both during the transfer, transportation and on-site handling operations, prior to installation.

[0042] The fold line 5 provides greater adaptability of the part 1, both at the time of installation in the wet area or during the transportation thereof.

[0043] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the part 1 is the result of an overinjection of the core 2 and the sheet 3, so that highly favourable attachment conditions between said components are achieved, which provides rigidity and consistency properties to the resulting part 1 that are highly relevant, compared to other parts of the state of the art.

[0044] Additionally, the paving support part of the invention provides a highly substantial improvement in terms of its specific weight, given that its approximate weight may be comprised between 2 and 6 Kg / m 2< , unlike other parts of the state of the art that can reach, for example, 70-75 kg / m 2< .

[0045] This technical improvement in the attachment of the paving support part of the invention by means of the aforementioned adhesive is highly relevant in terms of optimising the on-site method of assembly of this type of parts.

[0046] In other preferred embodiments, as seen in Figure 4, and in order to provide a perimeter adjustment of the part 1, in locations where its size must be limited on at least one of its sides, such as by a number of millimetres, the part 1 incorporates in the core 2 a perimeter skirt 21 where the waterproofing sheet 3 is intentionally separated from the rigid core 2 and in order to provide a perimeter edge of the core 2, which can be cuttable or separable from the core 2 according to assembly requirements, as seen in figure 5.

[0047] Said cutout does not affect the extension or perimeter skirt of the waterproofing sheet 3, and therefore, it can continue to advantageously provide a facility for connection with the waterproofing in the vertical plane of the wet area.

[0048] The details described in the paving support part of the invention provide a substantial optimisation of the method of assembly of this type of prefabricated parts in facilities and wet areas, to subsequently be able to install ceramic or similar pavements on said waterproofing base.

[0049] It is also important to note that this type of parts must provide a surface that is as smooth and homogeneous as possible, to precisely ensure correct positioning of the visible plating parts, so that the features of the present invention pursue this technical and constructive milestone, in addition to providing highly relevant advantages when it comes to the on-site method of assembly of the paving support part of the present invention.

[0050] The details, shapes, dimensions and other secondary elements, as well as the materials used in manufacturing the paving support part of the invention, may be suitably replaced with others that are technically equivalent and do not depart from the essential nature of the invention or from the scope defined by the claims included below.
