A system and a method for the detection of a water leak. An alarm can be sounded and a valve closed to shut off a water supply when a wireless sensor is in the presence of water. Exemplary embodiments of the wireless sensor can be battery supplied and mounted to a wall or a floor. In fact, a magnetic latching valve can be used to minimize power consumption, and allow the entire system to be battery supplied as needed. Wireless sensors according to the present invention can be disposed in homes or commercial buildings, including, e.g., under hot water tanks, sinks, A/C drip pans, ice makers, washer machines, and/or toilets.

A system including a sensing device including a pressure sensor configured to measure pressure of water in a water system of a structure. The sensing device can be configured to generate pressure measurement data representing the pressure of the water as measured by the pressure sensor. The system also can include one or more processing units including one or more processors and one or more non-transitory storage media storing machine executable instructions configured when run on the one or more processors to perform detecting a non-cyclical pressure event corresponding to a water leak in the water system of the structure during a first time period based on an analysis of information including the pressure measurement data. The pressure sensor can be coupled to the water system of the structure at a single location of the water system of the structure when measuring the pressure of the water in the water system of the structure. A system for detecting water leaks is described. In one embodiment, the system includes a plurality of sensors, selected from a moisture sensor, a water level sensor, and/or a water temperature sensor. A processor collects moisture readings from the sensors. In one embodiment, the processor reports a possible water leak when a moisture sensor detects moisture above a moisture threshold value. In one embodiment, the processor reports a water leak when the water level reading exceeds a water threshold value and/or when the temperature reading exceeds a temperature threshold value.

Water leak detecting or overflow devices for a toilet may be inserted into or formed integrally with the toilet. The devices include at least one water leak sensor assembly mounted in a position in a toilet tank so as to detect the rise and fall of the water level in the toilet tank and an overflow detector in a toilet bowl. If the water level rises and falls a predetermined number of times, or if water continues to flow to the toilet longer than a measured increment of time, a microprocessor operates a normally-open valve and shuts off flow of water to the toilet tank. The devices also include a second sensor, whereby if a flapper remains open or water reaches a level where it might overflow the bowl or tank and stays there for a predetermined period of time, the microprocessor will also shut off flow to the toilet.

Systems and methods for monitoring and controlling water consumption in a water-based system are disclosed using one or more sensors for generating signals indicative of the operation thereof. One or more interface modules are provided as breaker circuits for receiving the generated signals, and a fluid control device is operable for limiting the water consumption. A motherboard receives the interface modules and provides communication therebetween for information processing. Signals from the various sensors are supplied to a controller, which provides signals to status indicators, and also operates to provide alarm signals via network interfaces to remote locations and to operate an alarm. A liquid flow mitigation system comprising a systems interface, a liquid arresting mechanism operable to impede flow of a liquid, a control device operable to produce an input to the systems interface representing a request to impede flow of the liquid, and a liquid utilizing device operable to produce an input to the systems interface representing a request for liquid flow. The systems interface directs the liquid arresting mechanism to impede liquid flow when the systems interface is in receipt of an input from the control device. The systems interface directs the liquid arresting mechanism to permit liquid flow when the systems interface is in receipt of an input from the water utilizing device.

A humidity regulating unit including a heating element housed inside a covering that has a porous retaining wall through which water does not pass but steam or gas passes. In one embodiment, the covering has several bulges along the circumference of the heating element that protrudes outward from the outer surface of heating element to form several water routes along the outer surface of heating element. The covering and the outer surface of heating element are bonded between adjacent water routes so that the outer surface of heating element is used as part of the wall of the water routes. As a result, the size of heating element does not restrict making the cross section of each water route as small as possible, and even if the covering breaks, the amount of water leaking from the humidity regulating unit is minimized.

An elongated substantially flat four-conductor moisture detection and location sensor is described. The sensor includes four parallel conductors laminated to a dielectric substrate. Two of the conductors are protected by a water pervious dielectric layer and form the water-sensing element. Two other conductors are covered by a water impervious dielectric layer and are used to loop-back one or more of the water-sensing conductors. Precise location of a water leak location is determined by connecting the four conductors to a resistance bridge. The design allows for the connection of a four-conductor cable to extend the monitoring and detection point to a convenient location without loss of location accuracy.

The method has reasonable design, convenient construction, comprehensive consideration, good anti-leak and leak-blocking effect, fast leak-blocking speed and can solve the problems of pipe blocking, poor anti-leak and leak-blocking effect, slow construction progress and the like in the existing anti-leak and leak-blocking construction.

An elongate streamlined flexible bladder member has flexible hull walls and divider walls separated by uniform spaces to form fuel compartments having a fuel valve and fuel pump. The present invention relates to an improvement in the construction of water ride surfaces and comprises at least one layer of soft permeable material built into the padded substrate of a structurally supported ride surface. The permeable material connects to a drainage system and is preferably sandwiched between a slick skin upper waterproof membrane, and a supporting substrate beneath it. The advantage to this improvement is when water leaks through the waterproof membrane, the permeable material prevents water from building up inside the padded substrate, and allows the water to be drained out, rather than blistering and bubbling up under the waterproof membrane, thereby helping to preserve the integrity and longevity of the ride surface.

A method and apparatus for detecting leakage of flowing liquids from pipes includes an upstream flow-rate sensor positioned between a source of a flowing liquid which is conducted from a source to a destination terminal such as a VAV heat exchanger, and a downstream flow-rate sensor positioned between an outlet port of the destination terminal and a return line for the flowing liquid. The apparatus includes electronic control circuitry which is responsive to a differential flow-rate between upstream and downstream measured flow rates which exceeds a predetermined limit value in removing a valve-opening signal to the upstream shut-off valve, thus closing the valve to interrupt flow of liquid through the valve if the differential flow-rate signifies a leak. Optionally, the apparatus also includes a downstream shut-off valve positioned between the destination terminal and a return line, which is also closed in response to a differential flow-rate exceeding the limit value.

The invention relates to an improvement of a single drum washing machine with dehydration holes capable of automatically opening and closing. In the popular telescope-feed drum washing machine at present, washing water exists between the inner and outer drums; and thus, the telescope-feed drum washing machine wastes water and electric energy, and dirt accumulated in the interlayer between the inner and outer drums can pollute clothes. The existing single drum washing machine with dehydration holes capable of automatically opening and closing is environment-friendly, but has the defects of poor dehydration effect and high tendency to water leakage at the drum. The drum 1 of the invention is in a drum shape, the dehydration holes 3 are distributed on the bulges of the drum 1 and respectively provided with a shutter 2b (elastic ring). During washing, the shutters 2 close the dehydration holes 3 by utilizing the elastic force; and during dehydration, the diameter of the shutters 2 rises under the centrifugal action, and the inner side surface of each shutter and the outer wall of the drum 1 generate a clearance, thereby opening the dehydration hole 3. The invention has the advantages of simple structure, favorable dehydration effect and no secondary pollution for clothes.

A drain panel assembly for the control of water leaking through a basement wall and/or entering a basement through the interface of a basement wall and a supporting footing. The assembly comprises a plastic drain panel having an upper panel section which extends vertically up from a lower skirt section. The upper panel section is positioned adjacent the basement wall and is closely-spaced therefrom by spacer means which are integral with the rear surface of the upper panel section to admit water running down the basement wall into the lower skirt section.
