This invention generally relates to compositions and method of producing diluted hypohalous acid and hypohalous acid vapor. These compositions can be used to treat allergen containing surfaces, hard surfaces, food contact surfaces, hospital surfaces, food surfaces, kitchen surfaces, bathroom surfaces, human surfaces, animal surfaces, children's items, outdoor surfaces, soft surfaces, and medical instruments. These compositions can be converted to solid particulate or granular compositions. These compositions can be put into a variety of containers which preserve the stability. These compositions can be used to treat allergens and molds and as part of a mold detection system. These compositions can be dispersed into the air to enable microbiological control.

A flameless candle that releases a volatile active includes at least one LED positioned in a tip (106), a cartridge mount (128), and a support structure (102, 141). The at least one LED emits a flickering light that emulates a flame of a candle. The cartridge mount (128) receives and secures a replaceable cartridge (104a) containing a volatile active to be released into the atmosphere over time. The light source (42) comprises a plurality of LEDs (40a-40c) of at least two different colors and is controllable so as to adjust the operation of the plurality of LEDs (40a-40c). The audio system (52) controls sounds to be emitted from the apparatus. The microprocessor (99) controls the rate at which the fragrance dispenser (31) dispenses fragrance and the operation of the light source (42) and audio system (52).

A control for a multisensory apparatus comprises means for detecting a number of lights connected to the control. The control further includes means responsive to the detecting means for operating the light(s) connected to the control in either of first and second different modes of operation in dependence upon the detected number of lights connected thereto. Still further, the control includes means for actuating an active material dispenser.

A method of dispensing soap from a fluid dispensing system is disclosed. The method includes the steps of presenting a tube having a tube end disposed at a first position within an indented portion of a spout of the fluid dispensing system, sensing an object below the tube end, in response to sensing the object, expelling said soap from the tube end by drawing the tube end further within the indented portion to a second position, and returning the tube end to the first position.

According to one embodiment of the invention, a candle emulation device comprises a light source, a light source controller and an optional fragrance-release mechanism. The light source controller is coupled to the light source and is adapted to control the light source in order to produce a lighting effect that emulates lighting from a candle flame. A method and apparatus is described for neutralizing airborne pathogens and chemical toxins in ventilated air, and in heating or air conditioning systems. The pathogen-chemical toxin neutralization system is effective against a wide spectrum of pathogens and toxins, it incorporates commercially available components, and it can be readily integrated into commercial HVAC systems where it decontaminates large volumes of ventilated air in real time without any chemical reagents. The system has a flow-through reaction chamber (101) that contains a UV light source (106) that emits short intense flashes of broad-spectrum UV light, a source aqueous hydrogen peroxide that can be a reservoir or a hydrogen peroxide generator (106), and optionally a source of ozone. A device for dispensing a fluid comprises a housing having an internal power source and a mounting assembly adapted for receiving a replaceable fluid reservoir. Described is a method for freshening fabric articles by means of spraying the articles with an aqueous slurry of microcapsules having rupturable melamine-formaldehyde polymeric walls, containing substantive and efficacious functional substances, e.g., malodour counteractants and / or fragrances. The slurry may optionally contain non-confined functional substances, e.g. malodour counteractants and / or fragrances. The method is effective for the deposition of effectively-rupturable malodour suppressant and / or fragrance emitting microcapsules onto fabrics wherein the resulting emitted fragrance activity and / or malodour counteractant activity is long-lasting and where the resulting substantive aroma is aesthetically pleasing over the long period of time for which it is effective. Also described are efficacious and substantive malodour counteractant compositions useful for the aforementioned process containing a malodour composition composed of zinc ricinoleate and at least one of: 1-cyclohexylethan-1-yl butyrate; 1-cyclohexylethan-1-yl acetate; 1-cyclohexylethan-1-ol; 1-(4′-methylethyl)cyclohexylethan-1-yl propionate; and / or 2′-hydroxy-1′-ethyl(2-phenoxy)acetate. An air cleaner for cleaning air and for providing sterilization and deodorization effects, includes an air-liquid contact part, for bringing the air into contact with a water screen formed by spraying, using nozzles, pressurized circulating water, and for removing foreign materials from the air; a liquid separating part for separating from the air, tiny water droplets that are included in the air passing through the air-liquid contact part; a cylindrical body into which air to be cleaned is guided, and in which the air-liquid contact part and the liquid separating part are arranged in order; a chlorine dioxide addition unit, for adding a stabilized chlorine dioxide solution to a water tank for the water that is circulated; and a chlorine dioxide activation unit, for activating chlorine dioxide added to the circulating water, that is arranged in a circulating water pipe that extends from the water tank to the spray nozzles.
