Description

Technical field

[0001] The invention falls within the emergency lighting sector; in particular of functional characteristics or details of lighting devices or systems thereof or structural combinations of lighting devices with other articles.

[0002] The object of the invention is a recessed emergency luminaire, especially intended for installation in false ceilings of any room, being characterised in that the spotlight has minimal dimensions, without interfering with the achievement of a correct thermal evacuation that provides a long life to the LED or LEDs that make up the lighting system of this luminaire.State of the art

[0003] Currently there are examples of emergency luminaires recessed into the wall or into a false ceiling with access or into an accessible ceiling, which generally comprise a housing that contains the electronics and optionally the batteries thereof and the light source, in front of which are the required optical components (lenses, reflectors, diffusers, etc.), responsible for diffusing the light with the specific distribution. Depending on the photometric objectives of the luminaire, only one diffuser or one lens is used, or a combination of several of them.

[0004] However, current architectural trends require small luminaires that are aligned with the ceiling and fully integrated into the space, so that they are practically imperceptible to the eye when they are switched off. This challenge requires much more than a minimalist design, since a small spotlight must have a heat sink system equivalent to a conventional one, or even improved since overheating can cause the luminaire to burn out shortly after being switched on.Description of the invention

[0005] In order to achieve the proposed objectives, mentioned in the previous section, the invention proposes a recessed emergency light, having the features in claim 1.

[0006] As indicated previously, the biggest challenge when developing this luminaire has been to minimise the dimensions of the spotlight, guaranteeing, in turn, correct heat management that provides a long life of the LED. This is possible due to the heat sink technology with which this luminaire is equipped, which prevents the overheating thereof.

[0007] The high-efficiency LED is housed in a printed circuit designed in aluminium, which facilitates heat conduction to its rear area, where a completely smooth layer of electroless nickel immersion gold has been applied, which helps transmit heat to the heat sink, keeping the printed circuit at an optimal temperature. Likewise, the heat sink, cylindrical in shape and made of brushed aluminium on its outer layer, allows heat transmission to the air through thermal convection.

[0008] This luminaire is only around 20 mm in diameter and has a flat lens, which is aligned with the ceiling to provide total integration into the space. In addition, it offers wide light coverage and excellent graphic and uniformity coverage, making it imperceptible to the eye while it is switched off.

[0009] One of the highlighted aspects of this luminaire is that it is assembly friendly, since it is suitable for accessible ceilings and false ceilings with access, where only about 10 cm of space are required.Description of the drawings

[0010] As a complement to the description being made, and for the purpose of helping to make the features of the invention more readily understandable, the present specification is accompanied by a set of drawings which, by way of illustration and not limitation, represent the following: Figure 1 shows a view of the luminaire of the invention with its parts fully deployed. Figure 2 represents a cross sectional view of said luminaire. Embodiment of the invention

[0011] As can be seen in the referenced figures, the recessed emergency luminaire object of the invention has a substantially cylindrical configuration, with a diameter of less than 20 mm and a length of less than 10 cm so that it is capable of being embedded in a false ceiling or in an accessible ceiling with access.

[0012] Structurally, this luminaire comprises three blocks: A holding frame (1) for holding a lens (2) in an operative position, behind which a circuit (3) for at least one LED (15) is located, directed towards said lens (2) and the front portion of said frame (1). The front portion of the frame (1) is flush with the false ceiling or the accessible ceiling when installed and the body of the lamp perpendicular to the existing hole above the ceiling, making a hole of about 16 mm on the ceiling being the only requirement to carry out the installation. Behind the frame (1) it incorporates an elongated heat sink (4), attached by its front base to said LED circuit (3). And, finally, behind the aforementioned heat sink (4), a circuit with a connector (9), mounted on at least one support (10), which allows the power circuit (3) for powering the LED (15) to be electrically connected.

[0013] The main feature of the invention lies in the manner in which these three blocks are assembled to form a substantially cylindrical body. To do this, it further comprises two tie rods (6), which link the frame (1) with the supports (10) of the connector circuit (9). These tie rods (6) pull the frame (1) towards the rear area so that said frame (1) pushes the lens (2) against the LED circuit (3) and this against the heat sink (4), keeping the entire assembly together; to do this, a threaded screw (13) is mounted between the two tie rods (6) and the rear base of the heat sink (4), which screw when tightened pushes, using the nut (8), the tie rods (6) backwards, pulling the frame (1) and the elements mounted therein, keeping the entire assembly together, without the possibility of disassembling same unless the threaded screw (13) is removed, while when removing same all the parts are easily disassembled. To do this, the front ends of the tie rods (6) fit into two side windows (17), provided in the frame (1) in correspondence with the same.

[0014] In one embodiment, the threaded screw (13) placed between the tie rods (10) and the rear base of the heat sink (4), threads into a nut (8) that rests on said heat sink (4).

[0015] As seen in Figure 1, the heat sink (4) has two lateral longitudinal recesses through which the tie rods (6) are channelled, forming a cylindrical body when mounted along said recesses. These tie rods (6) have a C-shaped cross section configuration, so that the connection cables (5) between the connector (9) and the LED circuit (3) run through the interior of one of them; while a fibre optic guide (14) is installed in the other tie rod, which carries the light from signalling pilots (16), located in the connector (9), to the LED circuit (3) so that the signal from the pilots (16) can be seen in the lens area, from the outside, when the luminaire is installed.

[0016] In one embodiment, the connector circuit (9) is mounted on a support (10) formed by two parts that are coupled to one another by insertable latching, forming an assembly having a substantially cylindrical configuration, with a diameter similar to the rest of the blocks of the frame (1) and heat sink (4) with the tie rods (6).

[0017] In said connector (9), a second connector (18) connecting the luminaire with its power source is coupled. This second connector (18) is mounted on a support (11), which has a rear cover (12), all these parts being joined by insertable latching, forming an assembly having a substantially cylindrical configuration, with a diameter similar to the rest of the blocks of the frame (1) and heat sink (4) with the tie rods (6). As explained previously, this assembly is separated from the heat sink (4) through the screw (13) that pulls the tie rods (6) and these in turn pull the frame (1).

[0018] The assembly system of this luminaire allows the distance from the LED (15) in front of the lens (2) to be kept stable in the assemblies, absorbing possible differences in the thickness of the circuit (3), and always ensuring this distance and the contact and pressure of the circuit against the heat sink (4). This design has made it possible to minimise the size of the luminaire with easily manufactured parts and simple and quick assembly.

[0019] It is stated for the appropriate purposes that the materials, shape, size and arrangement of the elements described may be modified, as long as this does not imply an alteration of the essential features of the invention that are claimed below:
