Description
[0001] Dishwasher, especially household dishwasher
[0002] Description
[0003] The invention relates to a dishwasher, in particular a household dishwasher, with a washing container providing a washing chamber for receiving dishes to be cleaned and with one or more dishes carriers accommodated by the washing container, each of which is designed to be movable from a first position located in the washing chamber to a second position at least partially moved out of the washing chamber and vice versa.
[0004] Dishwashers in general and household dishwashers in particular are well known from the state of the art, which is why there is no need for separate printed evidence at this point.
[0005] A dishwasher of this type has a housing that houses a wash tub, which in turn provides a wash chamber. When used as intended, this chamber serves to hold items to be cleaned, such as dishes, cutlery, and / or similar items.
[0006] The wash tub features a loading opening for user access to the wash chamber. This can be sealed fluid-tight with a wash chamber door.
[0007] For the proper loading of a dishwasher with items to be cleaned, washware carriers are used that can be moved through the loading opening, either into or out of the wash cabinet, depending on the direction of travel. The washware carriers are thus designed to be movable from a first position within the wash cabinet to a second position at least partially outside the wash cabinet, and vice versa.
[0008] The dishware carriers are typically designed as dish racks. Depending on the dishwasher's features, two or three dish racks can be used, arranged vertically one above the other. A typical design includes a lower basket, an upper basket, and a cutlery drawer. The upper basket is positioned above the lower basket in the dishwasher's vertical direction, and the cutlery drawer is positioned above the upper basket in the dishwasher's vertical direction.
[0009] Prior art dishwashers typically have a manually operable wash cabinet door. However, an alternative embodiment may also provide a motorized wash cabinet door. In this case, the dishwasher has a motor drive for the wash cabinet door. This motor drive can be activated by the user by operating a corresponding actuating element, which results in the wash cabinet door being moved from the closed position to the open position, or vice versa.
[0010] Although dishwashers of the type described above, including those with motor-driven wash cabinet doors, have proven themselves in everyday practical use, there is still room for improvement. In particular, the aim is to further improve user convenience. The invention therefore seeks to further develop the design of a dishwasher of the generic type in such a way that it allows for simplified handling by the user.
[0011] To achieve this object, the invention proposes a dishwasher of the generic type, which is characterized in that the dish rack is equipped with a radio module having a radio transmitter operatively connected to a radio receiver on the machine side and an actuating element operable by the user.
[0012] The dishwasher according to the invention has a radio module. This is arranged on the dish rack or on at least one of the dish racks, for example, on an upper basket of the dishwasher.
[0013] The radio module has a radio transmitter and an actuating element. The actuating element is user-operated. When the actuating element is operated, the radio transmitter is activated, whereupon it emits a radio signal, for example, in the form of a radio telegram. The actuating element can be designed as a push button, for example, in the form of a rocker switch, in which case the radio transmitter can also be referred to as a radio push button.
[0014] The radio module's radio transmitter is operatively connected to a radio receiver on the machine. When used as intended, the radio receiver is used to receive, process, or forward a radio signal emitted by the radio transmitter.
[0015] The radio receiver, for example, can be operatively connected to a motor drive for motorized operation of a wash cabinet door. In this case, user activation of the radio module activates a motorized door closing device. Since the radio module is arranged on a washware carrier, user access to the radio module is only possible when the wash cabinet door is open. Therefore, if the radio receiver is operatively connected to a motor drive for the wash cabinet door, user activation of the radio module causes the wash cabinet door to close automatically and by motor.
[0016] The radio receiver can alternatively or additionally be operatively connected to other components and / or the control unit of the dishwasher. The only essential aspect of the invention is that a radio module is provided, which is arranged on one of the dishware carriers and which, among other things, has a radio transmitter that is operatively connected to the radio receiver. User activation of the radio transmitter results in the transmission of a radio signal, which can then be received and processed by the radio receiver.
[0017] The particular advantage of the invention lies in the fact that the radio module is particularly easy for the user to reach when the wash cabinet door is open, especially when the radio module is attached to an upper basket of the dishwasher. In dishwashers known from the prior art, it is difficult for the user to reach any provided actuating elements when the wash cabinet door is open. The design according to the invention provides a remedy here. The radio module and thus also the actuating element provided by the radio module are both easily visually identifiable and manually accessible by the user when the wash cabinet door is open. Advantageously, this does not require the user to squat or bend down.Rather, the radio module is positioned within the user's direct line of sight when the washware carriers are being or have been properly loaded with washware. Positioning the radio module within the user's direct line of sight also ensures simplified handling, eliminating the need for the user to bend or squat.
[0018] As a result, thanks to the design according to the invention, the handling of the dishwasher is significantly simplified.
[0019] A particularly preferred embodiment of the invention is provided when the radio receiver is part of a motor-driven door closing device or part of the control device of the dishwasher, which is connected in terms of control technology to a motor-driven door closing device. In this case, after properly loading the washware carriers with washware, a user can activate the radio module arranged, for example, on the upper basket of the dishwasher. As a result, a corresponding radio telegram is transmitted from the radio transmitter for reception by the radio receiver, which, upon receipt of the radio telegram, ensures automatic motor-driven transfer of the wash cabinet door to the closed position. As soon as the wash cabinet door is closed in a fluid-tight manner, an automatic start of a wash program to be completed by the dishwasher can also take place if the actuating element of the radio module has been actuated accordingly beforehand. Therefore, no further action is required by the user. After the wireless module according to the invention has been activated as intended, the wash cabinet door is closed and a subsequent wash program is started.
[0020] To differentiate between the closing of the wash cabinet door on the one hand and the start of a wash program on the other, multiple actuation of the actuating element can be provided. For example, a single actuation of the actuating element could result exclusively in the closing of the wash cabinet door. If the user actuates the actuating element twice, however, both the wash cabinet door is closed and a preferably preselected wash program is started.
[0021] According to a further feature of the invention, the radio transmitter comprises an electronic assembly and a power unit that supplies the electronic assembly with electrical energy. The electronic assembly provides the actual transmitting element, which, when activated as intended, emits a radio signal for reception by the radio receiver. The electrical energy required for this is provided by a power unit. This is a component of the radio transmitter, enabling autonomous operation; the functionality of the radio transmitter is therefore not dependent on a power supply to the dishwasher. A particular advantage of this design is that it does not require a power-carrying cable to the radio module. This ensures safe operation of the dishwasher, also considering that the wash cabinet is flooded with wash liquor when the dishwasher is used as intended.
[0022] The radio module's own energy unit can be, for example, an accumulator, a battery and / or the like.
[0023] According to a further feature of the invention, the radio transmitter is arranged in a fluid-tight housing. The radio transmitter, consisting of the electronic assembly and the power unit, is protected from external influences, particularly water ingress, within a fluid-tight housing. This ensures long-term safe operation and functional reliability even in humid ambient conditions.
[0024] According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that the energy unit is a piezo element that supplies the electronic assembly with electrical energy in the event of actuation.
[0025] According to this particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the radio module's own energy unit is formed by a piezo element. This piezo element does not provide electrical energy to supply the electronic assembly of the radio transmitter permanently, but only when activated as intended. The piezo element is advantageously maintenance-free and essentially wear-free. This ensures long-term, reliable operation of the radio module, which is why the piezo element is used as a particularly preferred energy unit. The piezo element is designed such that, when activated, it generates sufficient electrical energy through the deformation caused by the activation so that the radio transmitter can generate a radio signal and transmit it to the machine-side radio receiver.A radio module designed in this way does not require its own power supply in the form of a power cable or a battery, which fundamentally simplifies its use in the humid environment of the dishwasher's washing chamber.
[0026] According to a further feature of the invention, the piezo element is arranged on a circuit board provided by the electronics assembly. The electronics assembly and the piezo element thus form a separate and therefore easy-to-handle assembly. A circuit board serves as the common support base for this assembly. Both the electronics and the power unit are arranged on the circuit board, enabling simplified and cost-effective production and assembly.
[0027] According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that the radio module has a support element, wherein the housing accommodating the radio transmitter is arranged on the support element in a movable, preferably pivotable manner.
[0028] The support element serves to arrange the radio transmitter on the dish rack. When used as intended, this support element accommodates the housing accommodating the radio transmitter. The housing is movably arranged on the support element. A pivotable arrangement of the housing on the support element is preferred. This embodiment according to the invention advantageously enables a particularly simple construction. This is because the movable arrangement of the housing on the support element allows the housing itself to serve as the actuating element for the radio module. The housing accommodating the radio transmitter can therefore be operated and moved by the user due to its movable arrangement on the support element. As a result of such a movement, the radio transmitter is actuated. According to this embodiment, the housing itself is therefore the actuating element provided according to the invention.
[0029] According to a further feature of the invention, the piezo element of the radio transmitter arranged in the housing interacts with an abutment provided by the support element. During intended operation, the housing is moved, preferably pivoted, relative to the support element by the user. As a result of such a pivoting movement, the piezo element accommodated by the housing is pressed against an abutment provided by the support element, with which it interacts. As a result of the piezo element being pressed against the abutment on the support element side, the piezo element is deformed, resulting in energy generation by the piezo element in the manner already described. This type of design according to the invention proves to be particularly simple and robust. In particular, retrofitting is also permitted, since no additional components are required. The radio module itself is already functional and only needs to be installed on the dish rack. Both the radio transmitter and piezo element, as well as the hinged housing and the abutment that is operatively connected to the piezo element, are provided on the radio module side, so no further installation or assembly work is required to properly position the radio module on the dish rack. This makes the radio module according to the invention also suitable for retrofitting existing dishwashers.
[0030] According to a further feature of the invention, the abutment provided by the support element is a cam. This cam is designed as a projection that, when actuated, causes a point load on the piezo element, resulting in a deformation of the piezo element that releases energy.
[0031] According to a further feature of the invention, the piezo element itself is designed in the manner of a circular disk. The arrangement of the piezo element in the housing and the orientation of the support-element-side abutment are coordinated in such a way that, upon intended movement of the housing housing the radio transmitter, the abutment, designed as a cam, acts centrally on the piezo element, which is designed in the manner of a circular disk. This reliably ensures deformation of the piezo element upon activation, which leads to the generation of a sufficient amount of electrical energy to power the radio transmitter.
[0032] According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that the dishware carrier has a handle section accessible to the user on the front side of the dishwasher, wherein the radio module is arranged on the rear side of the handle section facing the receiving space provided by the dishware carrier.
[0033] The washware carrier has a handle section for user operation. This handle section serves as a handle. When used as intended, the user grasps the handle section of the washware carrier and can then move it, either from a position moved out of the wash cabinet to a position moved into the wash cabinet or vice versa. The radio module is preferably arranged on the handle section. The radio module is preferably located on the rear of the handle section, i.e. on the side of the handle section facing the receiving space provided by the washware carrier. A particular advantage of this design is that the radio module is housed in a protected manner by the washware carrier. The radio module is thus arranged on the washware carrier and is largely protected from unwanted external influences.Nevertheless, the radio module can be operated easily by the user, as it is located on the handle section of the dish rack and is easily accessible to the user.
[0034] According to a further feature of the invention, the rear side of the handle section has a holder that interacts with the support element. A holder on the handle section side serves to permanently and securely position the radio module on the handle section of the dish rack. When used as intended, this holder accommodates the support element of the radio module, thus securely holding the radio module in its final assembled state.
[0035] According to a further feature of the invention, the holder can be designed as a standard component of the handle section. This allows radio modules according to the invention to be easily retrofitted. Furthermore, it is advantageously possible to easily replace the radio module, particularly in the event of repairs. For this purpose, it is only necessary to remove the support element of the radio module attached to the dishware carrier from the holder of the handle section. A new radio module can then be attached to the handle section by inserting its support element into the holder on the handle section. According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that the housing is arranged on the support element with a return spring interposed.
[0036] The return spring ensures that the housing, and thus the actuating element of the radio module, is always held in its initial position intended for actuation. When actuated, the housing pivots against the spring return force acting on it and is pressed against the support element-side abutment in the manner described above. After actuation of the actuating element, it pivots back to its initial position under spring pressure and is available for subsequent actuation.
[0037] According to a further feature of the invention, the housing, under the action of the return spring, rests against a stop of the support element opposite the abutment and / or against the rear of the handle section. This creates a defined position for the housing in which it is held in its initial position. Starting from this initial position, the housing can be pivoted by the user until it presses against the abutment on the support element side in the manner already described. As soon as the housing is released by the user, it returns due to spring force to its initial position, in which it rests in a defined manner against a stop of the support element or against the rear of the handle section of the dishware carrier.
[0038] According to a further feature of the invention, the radio receiver interacts with the machine's control electronics. The control electronics of the dishwasher are, in turn, connected to various assemblies, motor devices, switching units, and / or the like, and are thus in communication with them. Alternatively, separate control electronics can be provided, with which the radio receiver interacts. For example, a motor drive for the dishwasher door can have such control electronics, with which the radio receiver interacts. Therefore, the only essential aspect of the invention is that the radio module according to the invention cooperates with a radio receiver, wherein the radio receiver cooperates with control electronics, which in turn is in communication connection with components of the dishwasher that are to be activated, commissioned, started, and / or the like by means of the radio module. The invention further proposes the use of a radio module of the type described above, wherein the radio module is configured to effect, through user-side actuation of the actuating element, a motor-driven closing of a dishwasher door in an open position and / or a start of a washing program to be completed by the dishwasher.
[0039] The inventive use of the radio module therefore results in the automatic closing of a motor-driven wash cabinet door without additional manual operation. In addition, it can be provided that not only is the wash cabinet door closed by motor operation, but that a wash program to be completed by the dishwasher also starts automatically after the wash cabinet door has been properly closed. The radio module is arranged in a location that is easily accessible to a user when the wash cabinet door is open, namely on a washware carrier of the dishwasher. Preferably, the radio module is arranged in the handle area of this washware carrier so that the user can operate both the washware carrier and the radio module carried by it in virtually one hand movement.

[0051] 1. The dishwasher 1 has, in a manner known per se, a washing container 2, which provides a washing chamber 3. In the intended use, the washing chamber 3 serves to hold items 13 to be cleaned, for example in the form of plates and cups, as shown in Fig. 1.
[0052] Washware carriers 6 and 7 serve to hold the washware 13 to be cleaned, and can be pulled out of or moved into the treatment chamber 3 by the user. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the washware carriers 6 and 7 are designed as baskets, with the washware carrier 6 serving as the lower basket and the washware carrier 7 arranged in the vertical direction 8 above the washware carrier 6 serving as the upper basket.
[0053] For user access to treatment room 3, the rinsing container has
[0054] 2 via a loading opening 4. This loading opening 4 can be closed in a fluid-tight manner by means of a washing chamber door 5 which is mounted so as to be rotatable about a pivot axis.
[0055] For the purpose of supplying washware 13 to be cleaned with washing liquid, a spray device 9 is further arranged in the washing container 2. Depending on the design, this device has a plurality of spray arms that rotate during normal use. In the illustrated embodiment, three spray arms are provided: an upper spray arm 10, a middle spray arm 11, and a lower spray arm 12, with reference to the vertical direction 8.
[0056] Fig. 1 shows the wash cabinet door 5 in the open position. A motor device (not shown in detail in the drawings) interacts with the wash cabinet door 5 to move the wash cabinet door 5 into the closed position, in which the loading opening 4 is sealed fluid-tight by the wash cabinet door 5. A radio module 15 activates or starts the motor device for moving the wash cabinet door 5 from the open position shown in Fig. 1 into the closed position. According to the invention, this module is arranged on one of the washware carriers, specifically on the upper basket 7 in the illustrated embodiment. The radio module 15 interacts with a radio receiver of the control electronics 14 of the dishwasher 1.
[0057] Alternatively, the motor device of the wash cabinet door 5 has its own control electronics including a radio receiver with which the radio module 15 interacts.
[0058] The structural design of the radio module 15 according to the invention results from a summary of Figures 1 to 6 in particular.
[0059] The radio module 15 has a radio transmitter 27 and a user-operated actuation element 17. The radio transmitter 27, in turn, has an electronic assembly 30 and a power unit that supplies the electronic assembly 30 with electrical energy. In the illustrated embodiment, the power unit is a piezo element 32 that supplies the electronic assembly with electrical energy when actuated. The piezo element 32 is arranged on a circuit board 31 provided by the electronic assembly 30. This is particularly evident from the illustration in Fig. 5.
[0060] The radio transmitter 27 is arranged in a fluid-tightly sealed housing 21. As can be seen in particular from the exploded view according to Fig. 5, the housing 21 provides a lateral opening 29 through which the radio transmitter 27 can be inserted into the housing 21. This opening 29 is closed in a fluid-tight manner by means of a cap 28 in the finally assembled state, so that the radio transmitter 27 is received in a fluid-tight manner by the housing 21 in the finally assembled state. The radio module 15 also has a support element 18 for arrangement on the washware carrier 7, as can be seen in particular from a combination of Figs. 3 and 5. This support element 18 pivotably receives the housing 21 accommodating the radio transmitter 27 in the finally assembled state. For this purpose, the housing 21 has axle extensions 23 on the support element side, which, in the finally assembled state, come to rest in axle receptacles 24 provided by the support element 18.In the final assembled state, the housing 21 can therefore be pivoted relative to the support element 18, specifically about an axis of rotation defined by the axial extensions 23.
[0061] The radio module 15 further comprises a return spring 26. The housing 21 is pivotably received by the support element 18 with the interposition of this return spring 26, in such a way that the housing 21 is held in a position induced by spring force as shown in Figs. 7 and 9.
[0062] The dishware carrier 7 has a handle section 16 accessible by the user on the front side of the dishwasher 1. This connection is particularly evident in Fig. 2. According to the preferred embodiment shown in the figures, the radio module 15 is arranged on the rear side 20 of the handle section 16, as can be seen in particular in Fig. 3. For the purpose of arranging the radio module 15 on the rear side 20 of the handle section 16, a holder 19 is provided on the handle section side, which receives tab sections 25 provided by the support element 18 of the radio module 15. This connection is particularly evident in Figs. 3, 5, and 6.
[0063] As can be seen particularly from the illustration in Fig. 4, the support element 18 further provides a cam 33. This cam 33 acts as an abutment with the piezo element 32 of the radio transmitter 27 accommodated in the housing 21, as will be further explained in the following description with reference to Figs. 7 to 9.
[0064] The housing 21 is integrally equipped with a handle 22 on its upper edge in the vertical direction 8. In the fully assembled state, this handle 22 projects above the grip section 16 in the vertical direction 8, as is particularly evident from the illustration in Fig. 2. This allows the user to easily access the housing 21 for pivoting it. The housing 21, with the handle 22 integrally arranged thereon, serves as the actuating element 17 when used as intended.
[0065] The functioning of the construction according to the invention results in particular from a combination of Figs. 7 to 9, wherein Figs. 7 and 9 each show a first position and Figs. 8 and 10 each show a second position.
[0066] In the first position according to Figs. 7 and 9, the radio module 15 is in its initial position. In this position, the housing 21, which is pivotably supported by the support element 18, rests against the rear side 20 of the handle section 16 under the action of the return spring 26.
[0067] In case of user-side operation, the housing 21 is used as an actuating element
[0068] 17 is pivoted against the spring force of the return spring 26, specifically clockwise with respect to the drawing plane according to Fig. 7. As a result of such a user-side pivoting of the actuating element 17, the housing 21 is transferred into its second position, as shown in Figs. 8 and 10.
[0069] In the second position, the housing 21 is on the user side against the support element
[0070] 18 is pressed. This cam 33 is geometrically aligned with the positioning of the piezo element 32 provided by the radio transmitter 27 and thus interacts with it. As a result of the user pressing the housing 21 against the cam 33, the piezo element 32 is deformed. This deformation leads to the generation of electrical energy sufficient to supply the electronic assembly 30 of the radio transmitter 27 with power to generate a radio signal.
[0071] As soon as the actuating element 17 is released again by the user, it pivots back into its initial position under the action of the return spring 26 as shown in Figs. 7 and 9.
[0072] If the washware carriers 6 and 7 shown in Fig. 1 have been returned to the wash cabinet 3 by the user, an automatic motor-driven door closure of the wash cabinet door 5 can be achieved by the user by actuating the radio module 15 provided for this purpose in the manner described above. To do so, the user only needs to grasp the housing 21 serving as the actuating element 17 by the handle 22 provided for this purpose and press it towards the wash cabinet 3. As soon as the actuating element 17 is pivoted far enough that the cam 33 provided by the support element 18 deforms the piezo element 32, energy is generated by the piezo element 32, which causes the radio transmitter 27 to send a radio signal, for example in the form of a radio telegram, to the radio receiver interacting with the radio transmitter 27.
[0073] Unlike other previously known trigger mechanisms for activating a motor device on the wash cabinet door, the radio module 15 according to the invention offers the advantage of being easily accessible by the user, as is particularly evident from the illustration in Fig. 1. Since the radio module 15 is arranged on a washware carrier according to the invention, it can be easily reached by the user when the wash cabinet door 5 is open. The arrangement of the radio module 15 on the upper washware carrier 7 is preferred because it can be reached by the user without the user having to bend down or squat.
[0074] The invention is characterized overall by the fact that a radio module 15, also referred to as a radio button, with a piezo element 32 is installed, for example, on the upper basket 7. The piezo element 32 generates sufficient energy through deformation to transmit a radio signal to a receiver of the dishwasher. The radio module 15 therefore does not require its own power supply in the form of a power cable or battery, which fundamentally simplifies its use in the humid environment of the dishwasher cabinet 3.
[0075] In order to have only a minimal amount of modification work in an existing upper basket 7 with handle section 16, the invention provides for the radio module 15 to be arranged on the rear side 20 of the handle section 16 in a space-saving manner.
[0076] By actuating the housing 21, also referred to as a rocker, with its integrated piezo element 32, the latter is pressed against the abutment provided by the support element 18 and designed as a cam 33. This causes the piezo element 32 to deform, as already explained above, with the housing wall interposed.
