Abstract

Disclosed is a golf bag having a minimum volume when not in use. The golf bag includes a main body frame (10) having a tubular shape and a pocket (50) made of a foldable or rollable material, the pocket being connected to a lower portion of the main body frame and being configured to support a golf club stored therein through the main body frame, and a handle (30) detachably installed on one side of the main body frame (10) and configured to be held by a user or hung on a device of a golf cart. The golf bag further includes a support (40) detachably coupled to the main body frame and configured to support the main body frame such that the main body frame is in a state of being spaced apart from the ground.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONField of the Invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a golf bag, and more particularly, to a golf bag configured to readily carry a small number of clubs and to be folded to become significantly small when not in use.Description of the Related Art

[0002] In general, a golf bag has a sufficient storage space formed therein and configured to store a full set of golf clubs. Accordingly, the golf bag normally has a considerable size and weight. Meanwhile, a compact golf bag, commonly referred as a half golf bag, is formed to have a smaller size than that of the general golf bag. As a result, a golfer may easily carry the half golf bag while putting a small number of golf clubs in the half golf bag.

[0003] However, such a half golf bag is also formed to have a sufficient storage space extending in the longitudinal direction thereof so as to store golf clubs therein. For this reason, portability and mobility of the half golf bag may not be reliably secured in a state in which golf clubs are not stored in the storage space. In addition, when playing a round of golf without a caddy, particularly, when a golfer plays an approach shot around the green, the golfer often exits a golf cart and holds several golf clubs by hand.

[0004] In this case, it is inconvenient for a golfer to carry the golf clubs while playing golf. Further, there is a possibility that a golfer moves to the next location in a state in which the golf clubs are left behind. The present invention has been made to solve the above-described inconvenience, and an object of the present invention is to propose a compact golf bag capable of storing a small number of golf clubs therein and allowing a golfer to play golf while conveniently carrying the golf bag. It is considered that the golf bag of the present invention may be effectively used when a golfer plays an approach shot to hit the ball toward the green or when a golfer plays golf on public golf courses for short-distance practice.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a compact golf bag configured to allow a golfer to conveniently move while carrying only a small number of golf clubs when necessary, and to provide a minimum volume when not in use, thereby securing reliable portability.

[0006] In accordance with the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by the provision of a golf bag including a main body frame having a tubular shape, a pocket made of a foldable or rollable material, the pocket being connected to a lower portion of the main body frame and being configured to support a golf club stored therein through the main body frame, and a handle installed on one side of the main body frame and configured to be held by a user or hung on a device of a golf cart.

[0010] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the embodiments and the accompanying drawings.

[0011] As illustrated in FIGs. 1 and 2, a golf bag of the present invention includes a main body frame 10 having a tubular shape and a pocket 50 supported by a lower portion of the main body frame 10. Preferably, the main body frame 10 is molded in a tubular shape having a circular cross section or a rectangular cross section and is made of a synthetic resin having a predetermined level or higher of structural strength.

[0012] Since the upper and lower portions of the main body frame 10 are open, a golf club may be put into the golf bag or may be taken out thereof. Here, the lower portion of the main body frame 10 is connected to the pocket 50 so as to communicate therewith. Here, the pocket 50 may be a portion configured for a golf club to be inserted thereinto through the main body frame 10 and to support the golf club stored in the pocket 50. In the embodiment shown in the drawing, a synthetic resin frame portion 52 is connected to the upper portion of the pocket 50, and the frame portion 52 is configured to be structurally connected to the main body frame 10.

[0013] The frame portion 52 and the main body frame 10 may be directly connected to each other through a coupling element such as a bolt. However, the frame portion 52 and the main body frame 10 may respectively have structural configurations capable of being coupled to each other, and may be coupled to each other similarly to coupling between other components as described later. For example, the main body frame 10 and the pocket 50 may be integrally coupled to each other by forming a coupling protrusion on any one of the main body frame 10 and the pocket 50 and forming a coupling groove in the other thereof.

[0014] Here, as another embodiment, it is also possible to directly fix the upper portion of the pocket 50 to the main body frame 10. The pocket 50 of the present invention supports a golf club inserted thereinto through the main body frame 10, and the lower portion thereof is closed to support the golf club. The pocket 50 of the present invention is formed of a material capable of being folded or rolled up, thereby making it possible to maximally reduce the volume of the pocket 50 when the golf bag is stored or carried.

[0015] In order to improve portability of the golf bag, the pocket 50 is made of a foldable material such as leather (including artificial leather and natural leather) or fabric. That is, when the pocket 50 is made of a material capable of being folded or rolled up for improvement in storage, the volume of the pocket 50 may be independently reduced, or the volume of the pocket 50 connected to the main body frame 10 may be significantly reduced. For example, in order to store a golf club having a long length in a golf bag, the golf bag also needs to have a long length corresponding to the length of the golf club. Meanwhile, as described above, when the pocket 50 of the present invention is made of a material capable of being folded or rolled up, the pocket 50 may be reduced to the size of a small lunch box, thereby significantly improving portability.

[0016] Next, a description will be given as to a configuration around the main body frame 10 with reference to FIG. 3. A handle 30 is assembled with one side of the main body frame 10. The handle 30 formed for a user to hold and lift a golf bag may have any assembly configuration as long as the handle is attachable to and detachable from the main body frame 10. In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the main body frame 10 has a coupling groove 12 formed therein in the upward-and-downward direction. Here, the coupling groove 12 has a closed upper portion. The handle 30 has a coupling protrusion 32 configured to be coupled to the coupling groove 12 from the lower portion of the coupling groove 12 to the upper portion thereof.

[0017] However, the handle 30 is not limited to the above-described configuration, and any configuration may be adopted as long as the handle 30 is detachably assembled with the main body frame 10. As shown in the drawing, preferably, the handle 30 includes an extension portion 38 formed to extend in a direction away from the main body frame 10 and a downward extension portion 36 disposed on the outer side of the extension portion 38 and formed to extend downwards. The downward extension portion 36 of the handle 30 may have a convenient function of being insertable into a device (structure) provided on a golf cart.

The support 40 is installed to allow the golf bag to be spaced apart from the ground by a predetermined height. The support 40 of the embodiment has a pair of legs 42, and the outer ends of the legs 42 are connected to each other through a connecting portion 44. Additionally, when connecting protrusions 46 respectively formed on the inner ends of the legs 42 are respectively coupled to connecting grooves 16 formed in the main body frame 10, the support 40 may be supported by the main body frame 10.

[0019] According to another embodiment shown in FIG. 4, a plurality of supports 40A is formed to have a rod shape. The rod-shaped supports 40A are configured to be respectively coupled to coupling grooves 12A formed in a main body frame 10A. As described in the embodiments, each of the supports 40 and 40A of the present invention is installed to support the main body frame 10 upwards in a state in which the main body frame 10 is spaced apart from the ground by a predetermined distance. Further, preferably, each of the supports 40 and 40A is configured to be detachably assembled with the main body frame 10.

[0020] As is apparent from the above description, the present invention provides a golf bag including a plurality of components detachably coupled to each other. Particularly, since a pocket among the components is formed of a material capable of being folded or rolled up, the golf bag of the present invention may be reduced in volume when not in use, thereby enabling convenient storage and reliable portability. Accordingly, the golf bag of the present invention may secure portability and storage convenience through reduction in the size thereof. Additionally, the golf bag of the present invention may be conveniently used in a place where a golfer plays golf with a small number of golf clubs or may be used when a short game is played around the green.

[0021] As described above, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that various modifications and improvements may be made in the embodiments without departing from the basic technical scope of the present invention, and it is obvious that the scope of protection of the present invention is determined based on contents described in the claims in terms of the regulations of the Patent Act.

Claims

1. A golf bag comprising: a main body frame (10) having a tubular shape; a pocket (50) made of a foldable or rollable material, the pocket being connected to a lower portion of the main body frame (10) and being configured to support a golf club stored therein through the main body frame (10); and a handle (30) provided on one side of the main body frame (10) and configured to be held by a user or hung on a device of a golf cart.

2. The golf bag according to claim 1, further comprising a support (40) detachably coupled to the main body frame (10), the support being configured to support the main body frame (10) such that the main body frame is in a state of being spaced apart from a ground.

3. The golf bag according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the handle (30) is detachably installed on the main body frame (10).
