Horse Gum Protection Technical Field

[0001] According to a first aspect, the invention relates to a guard for preventing direct contact between a mandibular bar of a horse and a bit installed in a mouth of the horse. The invention also provides a method for attaching such a guard to the lower jaw of a horse. The invention further provides a method and a protective element for protecting a mandibular bar of a horse. State of the art

A bit is typically placed across the horse's mouth and at the corners of the mouth. The mandibular bars of the horse are spaces in the lower jaw without teeth and located between the premolars and the incisors, or between the premolars and the canines if the horse has canines. The bit installed in the horse's mouth is therefore in direct contact with the gum of the mandibular bars.
