The present invention relates to a device and method for cleaning and pre-milking teats. The device comprises a teat receiving means (3, 53) having a teat receiving opening (5, 55) and cleaning means (9, 59), and it further comprises vacuum-supplying means (19, 69) and teat receiving opening sealing means (6, 56). Means (14, 16, 18, 20, 22) for sterilising teats may also be provided.

In an automatic milking installation including a robot arm (2) with a gripper (3) for attaching teat cups (4) to the teats of an animal, e.g. a cow, to be milked, for applying a teat dip to the teats after milking different members, such as spray nozzles (5a, 5b), dipping cups (5c, 5d) and sponge or cloth rollers (5e), are provided for applying different teat dip compositions. The fluid-applying device comprises a fluid detector for determining a fluid application pattern of the fluid on the teat of the dairy animal. The fluid detector comprises a computer loaded with comparing software for comparing the determined fluid application pattern with a previously stored reference criterion, for emitting a comparison signal which is indicative of the comparison result, and for determining the teat length, the tip of the teat, and the fluid application distance, measured from the tip of the teat, over which the fluid has been applied to the teat, and for emitting a fluid signal comprising data in relation to the determined fluid application distance. The reference criterion may be a threshold distance with which the determined fluid application distance is compared.

A bedding article for a domestic animal comprising an outer textile casing defining a geometric shape for supporting a domestic animal, an inner filling, and a microbe-inhibiting agent or property applied to at least one of the outer textile casing and the inner filling. The bedding article may be fabricated in various shapes, designs, and styles; e.g., rectangular, circular, elliptical, with or without upstanding side walls, etc. A process for applying the microbe-inhibiting agent or property to at least one on the outer textile casing and the inner filling is provided. Application methods include spraying, dipping, brushing, and rolling the microbe-inhibiting agent or property onto at least one of the outer textile casing and the inner filling. An alternative embodiment includes an outer textile casing defining a geometric shape for supporting a domestic animal, an inner filling, a lining therebetween, and a microbe-inhibiting agent or property applied to at least one of the outer textile casing, the inner lining, and the inner filling.

The present invention discloses a sanitary handwear being a hygienic mitten to be worn about the hand of the user for protection of the hand of the user to be used to clean, wipe babies, self, or older people with bowel control problems. The present invention has a single compartment to house all of the fingers of the hand and a separate compartment for the thumb and has a defined wrist area. The mitten of the present invention is made of two layers. The first, inner layer is waterproof and impermeable, and, the second, outer layer is a moist, extra absorbent cloth-like disposable material containing moisturizers. The mitten is comprised of disposable material so that it may be easily and economically disposed of after use. The mitten also has an internal pull tab to aid in removal of the glove from the hand of the user.

The present invention refers to teat cup cleaning in an automated milking system comprising a plurality of teat cups, each connected to a first end of a respective milk line (5), and the second end of each milk line being individually and automatically connectable to a first (7) or a second container (9), respectively, wherein, during milking of the teats of a milking animal, the plurality of teat cups are attached to the teats of the animal, the second ends of the milk lines are connected to said first container and vacuum is supplied to said first container in order to draw milk through the milk lines into said first container. The cleaning comprises supplying (41, 43) a cleaning fluid to at least a first (3) of said plurality of teat cups; connecting the second end of the milk line (5) connected to the first teat cup (3) to said second container (9); and supplying vacuum to said second container in order to suck cleaning fluid through the milk lines into said second container (9), while keeping said first container (7) at substantially atmospheric pressure.

A toothbrush and chew-type toy for a dog. The toothbrush is comprised of a main body, and a first end with two nubs and a second end with bristles. The first end nubs allow said toothbrush to be held between the dog's front paws, and the brush can be held upright by the dog. A method of washing animals prior to slaughter involves passing the animals 40 one after another through a race 10 having means 35 to apply a pressurized spray of a cleaning fluid to the animal at least in those areas where incisions will be made. The system may comprise a container removably attached to the structure and a vacuum device within the container configured to generate a change in pressure within the container. The system may comprise a first duct to expel air from the container and direct air across the path and displace or dislodge insects. The first duct may further comprise a vent to expel bypass air from the first duct. The system may comprise a second duct, positioned along the path to draw air and dislodged insects into the container.

By effectively inhibiting ozone escape from ozonized water, a livestock sterilizing method which does not have the possibility of having an adverse effect on man and livestock is provided. Sterilizing of livestock is performed by including an ozonized water producing step of producing ozonized water with a particle size R of a contained ozone bubble satisfying 0<R<50 nm and an ozone concentration of 3 ppm to 20 ppm by a gas-liquid mixing method, and a step of sterilizing livestock by using the ozonized water produced in the ozonized water producing step. Since the particle size R is 0<R<50 nm, the ozone bubbles hardly receive buoyancy of the ozonized water. Therefore, the ozone bubbles do not rise to the water level, but stay in the ozonized water. As a result, ozone escape is effectively inhibited.

A micro bubble apparatus is provide to the shell for providing a pressurized mixture of a second liquid and a dissolved gas into the well so as to create a plurality of micro bubbles within the first liquid for engaging the object. A protective coat for domestic animals, such as dogs, is reversible to alternatively protect against heat or cold.
