A device for applying fluid is provided, comprising: a cylinder (13); a
piston (26) movable within the cylinder (13) between a front end position and a rear end position and connected to a
piston rod (25); and a tensioning device (S) connected to the
piston rod (25); wherein the tensioning device (S) has a ramp (42) rotatable by a motor (51) and a ramp path (41) extending along a
helical line; wherein the tensioning device (S) further comprises a roller (40) contacting the ramp path (41) and rotatably mounted in a driver (31) connected to the
piston rod (25), such that when the ramp (42) rotates in a first rotation direction (52), the ramp path (41) travels below the rotating roller (40); wherein a
dose setting device (36) is provided, comprising a spacer (70) and a moving unit, wherein when the moving unit... When the plug (26) is in its rear end position, the moving unit can move the spacer (70) from the
neutral position where the spacer (70) is not located between the driver (31) and the cylinder (13) into the working position between the driver (31) and the cylinder (13), such that the driver (31) is stopped by the spacer (70) after the roller (40) passes through the transition area (46), thereby resulting in a shorter piston
stroke during the movement of the piston (26) toward the open distribution end compared to when the spacer (70) is in its
neutral position; wherein the spacer (70) has a through hole (140) in which a spindle (143) having a spindle thread (142) is guided, wherein the spacer (70) has a pin (141) protruding into the spindle thread (142), and wherein the spindle thread (142) is inserted into an annular groove (144, 145) at at least one of its two ends.
