Description

[0001] EYEGLASSES WITH KEY

[0002] 1 TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0003] This invention relates to a hinge for spectacles and a rimlock for spectacles circles and according to the international classification is classified as G02C 5 / 22.

[0004] 2. TECHNICAL PROBLEM

[0005] The technical problem is to make a hinge for the temple of the glasses, which would also be an automatic rimlock of the eyeglass circles without the use of screws, whereby it is necessary that the rimlock of the circles can be easily opened using a simple tool and enable smooth and reliable mounting and dismounting of the lenses in the glasses frame.

[0006] The technical problem is to make a complete mechanism assembled on the temple with all bends and angles and to mount the completed temple in the frontal part without using screws or glue.

[0007] The technical problem is to avoid any operations of bending and mechanical deformation of the temple during the phase of mounting the temple on the frontal part of the glasses.

[0008] The technical problem is to use simple tools to ensure efficient and reliable opening of the eyeglass frames, safe and stable preservation of the eyeglass frames in the open position when mounting the lenses In the frame.

[0009] The technical problem is to ensure that the material of the glasses is not damaged when using the tool for opening the rimlock of the glasses.

[0010] The technical problem is to perform a rimlock system which also has the function of temple without the use of screws, while the dimensions of the segment of the glasses in which the temple is mounted together with the mechanism (endpiece) should be the same size as for traditional glasses.

[0011] 3. STATE OF THE ART

[0012] In the application PCT ZBA2021000010, a similar Invention is described. The key drawback of the invention was the very slow, unreliable and complicated assembly of the temple on the frontal part. A further disadvantage was that the workers who performed the installation had to be highly qualified because the complete construction and accuracy of the mechanism of the temple and of the rimlock depended on the precision of bending the wire from which the temple was made, as well as the capacity of holding the lense in the frame.

[0013] The temples could not be bent and produced separately from the frontal part, but only after mounting the temple on the frontal part by passing a straight wire through the straight hole and subsequent bending.

[0014] Painting the temples was impossible because the temple was bent at straight angles twice which would have caused the paint to crack on the very thin wire from which the temples was made.

[0015] The wire from which the temple was made had to be straight and of small dimensions, because during the assembly process it has to be passed through a hole that is slightly wider than the dimensions of the temple. After stretching the spring to the working position, the temple is blocked by bending itself at an approximately straight angle.

[0016] The dimensions of the segment of the frontal part (endpieces) were larger than those of traditional glasses because the mechanism was mounted exclusively in the part that is separated from the rims.

[0017] In the phase of mounting the lenses in the frame, the rims moved apart due to the pressure caused by the lenses being pressed against the frontal part, which caused uncertainty and refusal of most opticians to mount the lenses in the frame in this way.

[0018] In larger factories, the product was rejected because it was impossible to make a large quantity of the same quality, because practically it involves manual work when bending the temples, and the price of such work was too high.

[0019] The temple design of the product described above wras limited to a small diameter round wire only.

[0020] The tools that were used to bend the temple were imprecise due to the small space that was available, because the bending was performed on the frontal part, and at the same time it was very di fficult to make tools that would not damage the frontal part, which in most cases was already painted.

[0021] 4. ESSENCE OF THE INVENTION

[0022] The main goal of this invention is to create a temple assembly system with a mechanism for closing the eyeglass rims on the frontal part such that assembly is performed without screws, without bending the temple and without any deformation of the temple during the assembly phase.

[0023] A further goal is to enable the production of the handle separately from the frontal part in specialized factories for those operations that are qualified and equipped.

[0024] A further goal of this invention is to enable the end user to open the rims of the glasses using a simple key shaped tool and thereby enable easy disassembly and assembly of the lenses in the frame of the glasses.

[0025] A further goal of this invention is to enable the use of temples of different dimensions, shapes and different materials, whereby the designer is not limited to having to use only a round wire that can be passed through the seat of the font part and then bent as in the innovation described above.

[0026] A farther goal of this invention is to enable simple disassembly and reassembly of the lenses in the frame for people who have no experience with glasses and have no experience in manual work by having a key shaped tool for opening the rims, and has a key-shaped seat made in the frontal part, and the operation of opening the rims is a simple turn of the key ninety' degrees whereupon the key will automatically be held in the open rim position until it is turned back to its original position when the rims are closed.

[0027] A further goal of this invention is to enable the painting of the temple of the glasses, because in this invention all mechanical bending, deformation and possible welding are performed in the phase before the assembly of the temples on the frontal part and separately from the production of the frontal part.

[0028] A further goal of this invention is to reduce the dimensions of the final segment of the frame in which there is a mechanism for automatic closing of rims and a seat for the opening of the rims in such a way that it is possible to use the segment of the front part, which in professional jargon is called endpiece, which is the part that is located below of the protruding segment of the frontal part where the hinge glasses are traditionally mounted.

[0029] A further goal of this invention is to enable reliable, fast and simple lens replacement depending on the need in a certain situation. Dioptric lenses, sun lenses, lenses for working on a computer, sun lenses with different tints can be changed, and during each change, the lenses that will be in use can be cleaned quickly and efficiently.

[0030] A further goal of this in vention is to avoid the breakage of the temples of the glasses, which is caused by unprofessional bending of the temples over the edges of the endpiece, in which case the material o f the temples was damaged. This invention allows all bending and mechanical changes of the temple to be performed independently of the frontal part in specialized facilities and for the final assembly to be performed by mounting a simple part that blocks the temple in the frontal part,

[0031] A further goal of this invention is, by means of mounting the temples on the frontal part, to enable the painting of the temples of the glasses separately from the frontal part in cases where the frontal part is made of a material that is different from the material from which the temple is made. Painting the temples is possible as long as the temples with mechanism are not deformed during the assembly phase of the temple or the frontal part. This is the most common case because the front part is mostly made of aluminum or plastic and the handle is made of steel or elastic titanium.

[0037] 6. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0038] The automatic rimlock and hinge glasses has a frontal part (F), a temple (R) and a mechanism for closing the rims (M).

[0039] The frontal part (F) is separated into segment (GF) and segment (DF) by the separation surface (PR).

[0040] On the segment (GF) there is a seat (LO) in which the temple (R) rotates from the position when it is closed in relation to the front part (F) to the position of maximum opening. The surface (PGGF) of the seat (LGF) is the limiter of the maximum opening of the handle (R) in relation to the front part (F). The surface of the seat (PTGF) is the surface on which the temple slides during the opening and closing phase. Roughly perpendicular to the disassembly surface (PR) there is a seat (LO) for the temple (R) and the spring (O), in which the temple (R) is mounted with the end of the temple (ZRO) and the spring (O) is pulled onto the temple (R). The seat (LO) is made in both segments (GF) and (DF) of the front part (F). On the segment (DF) of the frontal part (F) there is a seat (LBO) for the element that blocks the spring (BO). The seat (LKK) for the tool (KK) which moves the segments (GF) and (DF) from each other is located between the segments (GF) and (DF) in the zone of the separation surface (PR).

[0041] The temple (R) has a segment (RO) with an end (ZRO) on which a spring (O) is mounted, a segment (RF) which in the phase of maximum opening borders on the front part (F) and a segment (RV) which is located outside the front part (F) and does not affect the function of the hinge of glasses. The segment (RO) is located inside the front part (F) and ends with a thickening (ZRO) which has the function of blocking the spring (O) at the end of the temple (R). The spring (O) is threaded onto the segment (RO) without being pre-tensioned at the pre-assembly stage and is free to move along the length of the segment (RO). Segment (RF) is bent at approximately right angles to segment (RO). The segment (RF) has the function of the temple rotation limiter (R) in the opening phase. The maximum opening position of the temple (R.) is in the position when the surface (PGGF) of the frontal part (F) is in contact with the segment (RF) of the temple of the glasses (R). The spring (O) during assembly is simply pulled onto the temple until it comes into contact with the thickening (ZRO) of the temple (R). In the phase before mounting the temple (R) on the front part (F), the spring (O) is not stretched and moves freely along the length of the temple (R), which enables the mounting of the spring (O) on the temple (R). The spring (O) in the working position is blocked by the spring blocking element (BO) and is stretched between the thickening of the temple (ZRO) and the spring blocking element (BO). The length of the working stroke of the spring (O) is the length of movement of the spri ng (O) from the position when the segments (GF) and (DF) are in contact to the position of maximum compression of the spring (O). In the position of maximum displacement of segments (GF) and (DF) the spring (O) is maximally compressed.

[0042] The spring blocking element (BO) has the function of blocking the spring (O) after the spring (O) is compressed to the dimension of maximum compression during the mounting phase of the temple (R) on the frontal part (F). The spring blocking element (BO) is mounted in the seat (LBO) which is performed perpendicular to the spring compression direction (O). whereby the spring (O) is permanently in contact with the spring blocking element (BO).

[0043] The spring (O) with one of its ends acts on the thickening of the handle (ZRO) and on the other end on the spring blocker (BO), which brings the temple into elastic and permanent contact with the surface (PTGF), whereby in the phase of opening and closing the temple (R) the temple segment (RT) rotates elastically on the surface (PTGF ) and forces segments (GF) and (DF) to mutual fixed elastic contact.

[0044] Assembly is extremely fast and simple and consists of pulling the spring (O) onto the temple segment (RO). Then the complete temple (R) with its segment (RO) is simply positioned in the seat (LO) made in both segments (GF) and (DF). The spring (O) is maximally compressed using the spring compression tool (ASO), which enables the assembly of the spring blocking element (BO) by simply inserting it into the seat (LBO). By releasing the spring (O), the spring (O) and the spring blocking element (BO) come into contact, which completes the assembly of the handle (R) on the front part (F). The temple (R) after the mounting of the spring blocker (BO) has all working functions and does not require any regulation, no additional bending of the temple, no lubrication. In order to move the segments (GF) and (DF) elastically away from each other during the assembly and disassembly phase of the glass on the frontal part (F), a key (KK) is used, which is placed in the seat (LKK) which is rectangular in shape, and in this phase the key (KK) does not exert pressure on segments (GF) and (DF). By turning the key (OKK) approximately ninety degrees, the segments (GF) and (DF) are forced apart, whereby the spring (O) is maximally compressed. The displacement of the segments (GF) and (DF) is caused by a change in the position of the key (KK), whose thickness (DKK) is smaller than the width (SKK). In the phase of forced rotation of the key (KK), the side faces (BSK) come into contact and act on the segments (GF) and (DF) in such a way as to distance them from each other. The temple segment (RF) is always in elastic contact with the segment (GF), so moving the segment (GF) forces the segment (RO) in the seat (LO) to move towards the spring blocker (BO), which results in the compression of the spring (O) between segment (ZRO) and spring blocker (BO). In the maximum spring compression position the segments (GF) and (DF) are open enough that the lenses can be removed or fitted by persons with no experience with spectacles. Turning the key (KK) again by approximately ninety degrees under the action of the spring (O) automatically brings the segments (GF) and (DF) closer to each other, which leads to the safe holding of the lenses in the front part (F) again.

[0045] 7. APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION

[0046] This invention is widely used in the eyewear industry. It is extremely necessary for people who have problems with bacteria, fungi and viruses that affect the eyes, because this invention guarantees simple disassembly and reassembly of the lenses and efficient and detailed cleaning of lenses and frames, which is not possible in traditional frames. It is also suitable for all people who have the need or desire to change different types of lenses on the same frame, such as dioptric glasses, sunglasses, glasses for working on a computer. It is also widely used in sports glasses where there is a need for filters with different percentages of darkening in different weather circumstances and in different periods of the day.
