AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Current agricultural practices rely heavily on chemical pesticides, leading to environmental sustainability issues and increased costs due to the need for multiple formulations to manage various plant pathogens simultaneously.

Method used

The use of new strains of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, specifically strains 8/6 and A12B, which exhibit a broad spectrum of action by solubilizing silicon, potassium, and phosphorus, while also acting as antagonists against multiple fungal and bacterial pathogens, thereby promoting plant growth and reducing pest management costs.

Benefits of technology

Strains 8/6 and A12B effectively biostimulate plant growth and development, while providing strong antagonistic effects against a wide range of plant pathogens, thereby reducing the need for multiple chemical formulations and minimizing environmental chemicalization.

Abstract

The object of the invention are strains Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 8 / 6 and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens A12B, deposited in Polish Collection of Microorganisms PCM in Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy, Polish Academy of Sciences in Wroclaw. The invention relates also to the application of strains Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 8 / 6 and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens A12B as means of biostimulation of plant growth and development, and pest management. Strains Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 8 / 6 or Bacillus amyloliquefaciens A12B or their derivatives, such as spores or metabolites, are applied: in the form of aqueous suspension via fertigation, foliar spraying, soil spraying, used for seed treatment or in the solid form for soil application.
