[0005] Glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes are generally made of glass fiber, sand and polyester resin. The most important feature of these pipes is that they have high mechanical properties. For this reason, glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes are used especially in industrial applications. Glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes are generally used in areas such as irrigation, drinking water, sewage, cooling water lines. Glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes play a very important role in industrial applications due to their high strength and durability. In addition, the materials of these pipes are also used in the construction of other industrial equipment that can operate in jobs requiring high mechanical properties and pressure.

[0007] Nowadays, only straight channels can be opened into the couplings used to join glass fiber reinforced polyester pipes with each other using gasket slot opening machines. Since the gasket slots are flat or expand towards the surface, falling occurs during the installation of the gaskets. Gaskets that are prone to falling are applied with tape to protect them until the assembly phase. In addition, when the pipes are installed on the coupling, the gasket rotates in the coupling channel and since the gasket lips cannot wrap around the outer surface of the pipe, it cannot fulfill its sealing function. Various studies have been carried out today on the installation of sealing gaskets on couplings at the joints of GRP pipes. One of these studies is the invention that is the subject of the patent application numbered TR 2011 / 08412 and titled “Gasket mounting machine”. The invention relates to a gasket mounting machine characterized by enabling the assembly of gaskets to couplings, which are the connecting elements of pipes in the GRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic) pipe industry, comprising a gasket assembly roller, a flat outer surface of said seal assembly roller, a right support idler roller and a left support idler roller, a roller rotating motor reducer that turns said gasket assembly roller, a motor reducer carrier, linear bearings, a mounting pass drive shaft, a rotating arm, a force limiter, a horizontal (main) body on which the gasket assembly machine is mounted by previously the operator who rotates the coupling. Although said invention provides an advantage for the serial and ergonomic assembly of the gaskets to the couplings, it is insufficient in terms of opening the angled groove.

[0009] Brief Description of the Invention

[0010] The present invention relates to a vertical sleeve opening machine developed to open an angled groove into the couplings (sleeves) used in joining glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes with each other, which meets the above-mentioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages and brings some additional advantages.

[0011] The object of the invention, based on the state of the art, is to enable the use of angled bottom gaskets in couplings by opening a reverse angled groove in the coupling with the developed vertical sleeve opening machine.

[0012] The object of the invention is to enable reverse angled channel opening in the coupling by using reverse angled milling cutters in the vertical sleeve opening machine.

[0029] Detailed Description of the Invention

[0030] In this detailed description, the vertical sleeve opening machine (10) developed to open an angled groove into the couplings (sleeves) used in joining the glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes, which are the subject of the invention, is described only as an example for a better understanding of the subject and in a way that does not form any limiting effect. The vertical sleeve opening machine (10) shown in Figure 1 opens a reverse angled grooves in the coupling so that an angled base gasket can be used in the couplings. In order to open a reverse angled grooves for the coupling, reverse angled milling tools (15) were used in the mentioned vertical sleeve opening machine (10). The vertical sleeve opening machine (10) shown in Figure-2 comprises a vertical linear motion device (11) for the vertical processing power motor (12) to move in the vertical direction. Said vertical processing power motor (12) provides rotational force to the power transmission box (14). Said power transmission box (14) provides movement to the milling tools (15) connected to the vertical processing power motor (12) by gears. The milling tool (15) connected to the mentioned power transmission box (14) rotates at high speed and is reverse angled. The horizontal linear motion device (13) shown in Figure-3 allows the vertical processing power motor (12) to move in the horizontal direction (right and left). For the circular rotation of the couplings, the coupling rotating roller (16) is positioned. The vertical sleeve opening machine (10) shown in Figure-4 comprises a pressure wheel (17) that presses from the top to fix the coupling to be rotated on the coupling rotating roller (16). During the circular rotation movement of the coupling, the pressure wheel centering arm (18) is positioned to prevent the rotation axis of the pipe from moving away with its weight. The movement to the coupling rotating roller (16) is given by the belt motion motor (19).

After the milling tool (15) enters the channel and reaches the bottom, the reverse angled gasket groove is opened by moving it right and left. In other words, only the lower part of the groove is widened.

Claims

CLAIMS1. A vertical sleeve opening machine (10) for opening angled grooves into the couplings (sleeves) used to join glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes together, characterized by comprising; a vertical processing power motor (12) which powers a power transmission box (14) for rotation of a milling tool (15);- the reverse angled milling tools (15) connected to the vertical processing power motor (12) for opening reverse angle channel all around the inside of the coupling; the power transmission box (14) driving the reverse angled milling tools (15); a horizontal linear motion device (13) which moves horizontally (right and left) to open an angled grooves and after the milling tool (15) reaches the base point and opens a grooves in the coupling at the desired depth.

2. A vertical sleeve opening machine (10) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a vertical linear motion device (11) for moving in the vertical direction the vertical processing power motor (12).

3. A vertical sleeve opening machine (10) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a coupling rotating roller (16) for the circular rotation of the couplings.

4. A vertical sleeve opening machine (10) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a pressure wheel (17) that puts pressure on the top to fix the coupling to be rotated on the coupling rotating roller (16).

5. A vertical sleeve opening machine (10) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a pressure wheel centering arm (18) to prevent the pipe from drifting away from the rotation axis with its weight during the circular rotation movement of the coupling.

6. A vertical sleeve opening machine (10) according to claim 1 , characterized by comprising; a belt motion motor (19) that moves the coupling rotating roller (16).
