Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a load distribution plate magazine for a setting device for the machine screwing in of fastening elements according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] It is known from the prior art to mechanically secure insulation and sealing materials on flat roofs against wind suction forces. In contrast to securing with ballast or adhesives, mechanical fastening involves anchoring the roof structure to the load-bearing roof substrate using fastening elements.
[0003] For this purpose, mechanical setting tools are advantageously used, in which the fasteners are pre-loaded in larger quantities, separated, gathered into a screw-in shaft, and driven into the roof substrate. The mechanical fasteners each consist of a screw and a large load-distributing washer. During the setting process, the screw penetrates both the insulation material and the waterproofing membrane and anchors itself, with its tip leading, in the load-bearing roof substrate by being set in motion by a screwdriver. This causes the screw to cut into the roof substrate, clamping the insulation and the waterproofing membrane between the roof substrate and the load-distributing washer located below the screw head. The roof structure is thus fixed to the roof substrate and secured against wind uplift forces. The load-bearing roof substrate can be made of trapezoidal steel sheeting, wood, or concrete.
[0004] To pre-load an adequate quantity of screws and load distribution plates, the setting device is equipped with a screw magazine and a magazine for the load distribution plates, in addition to a retractable screwdriver. Both magazines are operatively connected to singulation units to separate one screw or load distribution plate at a time from the magazine stream. In a subsequent step, the separated components are transferred to a common screw-in axis, where they are picked up by a retractable screwdriver.
[0005] Magazines for load distribution plates are known from the prior art, in which these are loosely stacked on top of each other.
[0006] EP 0 003 004 B1 describes a setting device for processing fasteners, each consisting of a screw and a metallic load-distributing washer. Both components, the screw and the load-distributing washer, are stored separately. A magazine is provided for the load-distributing washer, which has a receiving cage whose internal geometry corresponds to the flat outer contour of the load-distributing washer to be received.
[0007] DE 36 90 023 C1 describes a device for screwing in screws and washers, which includes a magazine for load distribution plates.
[0008] All magazines for load distribution plates known from the prior art suffer from the disadvantage that the singulation units no longer operate reliably when only a few load distribution plates remain in the magazine. This reduces the contact pressure of the decreasing stack of plates due to the diminishing weight. When attempting to separate the bottom plate from the stack, the remaining stack is pushed upwards due to the lack of contact pressure, resulting in no plate being removed and fed into the screw-in shaft. This leads to incorrect installation.
[0009] Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to create a magazine for load distribution plates that contributes to the highest possible functional and screw-fastening reliability of the setting device.
[0010] This problem is solved according to the invention by a load distribution plate magazine with the features of claim 1. Further features of the invention are described in the dependent claims.
[0011] According to the invention, a load distribution plate magazine for a setting device for the mechanical screwing in of fastening elements, consisting of a screw and a large-area load distribution plate for the mechanical fixing of insulating materials and sealing membranes on flat roofs, which are held in their respective magazines and individually removed from them in order to be positioned in a common screwing axis, comprises a cage with a receiving space for the load distribution plates placed one above the other and forming a magazine stack.
[0012] The load distribution plate magazine according to the invention is characterized in that a ballast body arranged above the magazine stack is inserted in its receiving space.
[0013] The invention makes it possible for sufficient contact pressure to act on the singulation device even when the weight of the magazine stack is no longer very high after repeated removal of load distribution plates, since the ballast body ensures continuous contact pressure even in this case.
[0014] The invention therefore makes it possible to work on roof surfaces without interference.
[0015] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the ballast body is arranged at the free end of a pivoting arm, wherein the magazine cage is formed by vertically erected wall segments that define the receiving space and are spaced apart from one another, forming a gap through which the free end of the pivoting arm projects into the receiving space of the cage. The ballast body is arranged at the free end of the pivoting arm. The freely pivoting arm, with its ballast body attached to it, continuously presses down on the magazine stack, thereby generating the required contact pressure.
[0016] In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the pivot arm is arranged to be vertically movable on an axis positioned outside the cage, and in particular, is slidably and pivotably guided about this axis. This ensures, on the one hand, that the pivot arm with its attached ballast body is moved downwards in accordance with the decreasing magazine stack, and on the other hand, that the pivot arm can be moved upwards out of the cage to fill the magazine. To allow the pivot arm to be removed above the magazine after it has been lifted out of the cage, it is provided that the arm has a rotating sleeve surrounding the axis at its end opposite the free end. This ensures that the swivel arm above the cage can pivot around the vertical axis supported at both ends, and that the cage's receiving space is freely accessible for inserting new load distribution plates.
[0017] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the axis is surrounded by a compression spring arranged between the rotary sleeve and the upper bearing of the swivel arm.
[0018] If the weight of the ballast body is deemed too low, a compression spring can be used on the axle, for example between the upper bearing and the swivel sleeve, to create a permanent preload.
[0019] There are various ways to advantageously develop and further refine the teaching of the present invention. Reference should be made, on the one hand, to the dependent claims and, on the other hand, to the following explanation of an exemplary embodiment of the invention with reference to the drawings.
[0020] The drawings show: Figure 1 shows a setting device with the magazine for load distribution plates according to the invention in a perspective view, Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the magazine for load distribution plates, Figure 3 shows a side view of the setting device, Figure 4 shows a top view of the setting device, Figure 5 shows a sectional view of the magazine for load distribution plates, Figure 6 shows a screw belt that can be processed in the setting device, and Figure 7 shows a load distribution plate that can be processed in the setting device.
[0021] The Figure 1Figure 1 shows a setting device 1. On a chassis 2 with two rollers 3 and 4, a receiving chute 6 for the lifting device 30 and a singulation unit 5 for the screws are arranged. Furthermore, a load distribution plate magazine 7 with singulation unit 8 and a screw magazine 10 for the straps 50 ( Fig. 6 ) with the screws included therein 60 ( Fig. 6 The lifting device 30 has a lifting column 32, at the free end of which two T-shaped handles 34 and 35 are arranged relative to the lifting column. These are attached on both sides to a bearing head 36. A clamping claw 40 is provided on the bearing head 36 at the front in the direction of travel. A screwdriver (not shown here) is inserted into this clamping claw, the screw rod of which runs coaxially to the screw-in axis 42.
[0022] The Figures 2 to 5 The figures show the load distribution plate magazine 7 according to the invention in different views, each in an enlarged representation.
[0023] The load distribution plate magazine 7 comprises a cage 80 formed by two right-angled wall segments 81, 82 that define a receiving space 83. The receiving space 83 is open at the top, allowing load distribution plates 70 ( Figure 7 ) can be inserted into the cage 80. The wall segments 81, 82 are spaced apart from each other such that at least one gap 85 is formed between them.
[0024] A vertically oriented axis 91 is arranged on the receiving chute 6, supported at its upper and lower ends by bearings 92 and 93, respectively. A pivot arm 94 is mounted on the axis 91 and can be moved up and down along the axis 91 by means of a rotating sleeve 95 surrounding the axis 91. The pivot arm 94 is hook-shaped. Its free end 96 projects into the receiving space 83 of the cage 80. At its free end 96, the pivot arm 94 carries a ballast body 97 on its underside, which rests on the uppermost load distribution plate of the magazine stack. This exerts sufficient pressure on the magazine stack so that the lowest load distribution plate is always pressed against the singulation unit 8, even when the magazine 7 is almost completely empty.
[0025] The singulation unit 8, which is not shown in detail here, has a slide that can be moved below the magazine stack and, during its movement, picks up the lowest load distribution plate by pushing it away from under the stack with lateral forces.
[0026] The ballast body 97 is therefore particularly effective when numerous load distribution plates 70 have already been removed and the magazine stack is low. The contact weight of the remaining stack may then be too low, and the counterforces of the singulation mechanism can cause the remaining stack to be pushed upwards, preventing any load distribution plate 70 from being removed from the magazine stream. This is prevented by the present invention, as a sufficient contact pressure is always present.
[0027] To load magazine 7 with load distribution plates 70 ( Fig. 7To fill the magazine, the swivel arm 94 is moved / shifted upwards along the axis 91 until it, together with its ballast body 97, is positioned above the wall segment 82. In this position, it can be swiveled out of the area above the receiving space of the magazine stack 83 about the axis 91, so that the receiving space 83 of the load distribution plate magazine 7 is freely accessible.
[0028] If the bearing weight is considered too low, a compression spring 99 can optionally be arranged on the axis 91, between bearing 92 and swivel sleeve 95, which pushes the swivel arm 94 downwards.
[0029] The Figure 6 shows a belt 50 with screws 60, as used in the screw magazine 10.
[0030] The Figure 7Figure 1 shows a load distribution plate 70 as it is used together with the screws 60. The load distribution plate shown as an example preferably has an oval geometry and a recess 71 in the center for receiving the screw head 63. The recess is pierced by a hole 72 through which the screw 60 with its screw shank 61 is passed. The load distribution plates 70 are stacked on top of each other in the magazine 7 provided for this purpose. The singulation device 8 separates the bottom load distribution plate 70 from the stack and transfers it to the screwing position. There, it is gripped by the also singulated and pre-positioned screw 60 as the lifting device moves downwards and is pressed onto the roofing membrane during screwing.
[0031] According to further consideration, the invention relates to a [something] in the Figures 1 to 4The illustrated setting device 1 is for the mechanical screwing in of fasteners, each consisting of a screw 60 and a large-area load distribution plate 70 for the mechanical fixing of insulation materials and waterproofing membranes on flat roofs. The screws 60 and load distribution plates 70 are held in their respective magazines, individually removed from these magazines, and positioned in a common screwing axis 42. As shown in the figures, the setting device 1 comprises a screwdriver whose screw rod runs coaxially to the screwing axis 42, a load distribution plate magazine 7 with a singulation unit 8, a screw magazine 10 for straps 50 containing screws 60, and a singulation unit 5 for the screws 60.The load distribution plate magazine 7 comprises a cage 80 with a receiving space 83 for the load distribution plates 70 which can be placed one above the other and form a magazine stack, wherein a ballast body 97 which can be arranged above the magazine stack can be inserted into the receiving space 83 of the load distribution plate magazine 7.
[0032] The setting device is characterized in that the ballast body 97 is arranged at the free end 96 of a swivel arm 94, the cage 80 is formed by vertically erected wall segments 81, 82 which define the receiving space 83 and which are spaced apart from each other forming a gap 85, that the free end 96 of the swivel arm 94 projects through the gap 85 into the receiving space 83 of the cage 80, and that the swivel arm 94 is arranged to be vertically movable and pivotable in the horizontal direction on a vertically oriented axis 91 positioned outside the cage 80.
[0033] The axis 91 is preferably received at its two ends in a lower bearing 93 and an upper bearing 92.
[0034] Furthermore, in the preferred embodiment of the setting device, the swivel arm 94 has a rotating sleeve 95 enclosing the axis 91 at its end opposite the free end 96.
[0035] Particularly advantageous is the axis 91 being surrounded by a compression spring 99 arranged between the rotary sleeve 95 and the upper bearing 92 of the swivel arm 94, which additionally exerts a downward force on the swivel arm 94.
[0036] According to a further embodiment of the setting device, the swivel arm 94 for filling the load distribution plate magazine 7 with load distribution plates 70 is advantageously movable upwards out of the cage 80 and pivotable above the cage 80 about the vertical axis 91 in such a way that the receiving space of the cage 80 is freely accessible from above for inserting new load distribution plates 70.
[0037] Finally, the invention relates to the use of a load distribution plate magazine 7 in a previously described setting device 1. The load distribution plate magazine comprises a cage 80 with a receiving space 83 for load distribution plates 70 that can be placed one above the other and form a magazine stack, and a ballast body 97 that can be placed in the receiving space 83 of the load distribution plate magazine 7 and arranged above the magazine stack, and which is arranged at the free end 96 of a pivot arm 94, wherein the cage 80 is formed by vertically erected wall segments 81, 82 that delimit the receiving space 83 and that are spaced apart from each other forming a gap 85 extending upwards, and wherein the free end 96 of the pivot arm 94 projects through the gap 85 into the receiving space 83 of the cage 80.In this embodiment of the setting device 1, the swivel arm 94 is arranged to be vertically movable on a vertically oriented axis 91 positioned outside the cage 80 and pivotable in a horizontal direction.
