PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention belongs to the field of rest and bedding, and more specifically to that of pillows.
[0002] The main purpose of this invention is a pillow that not only helps you fall asleep and improves the quality of your sleep, but also prevents nasal obstructions and the unpleasant situation of a wet pillow caused by the accumulation of the user's saliva, as well as preventing the formation of creases.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] Currently, there are different types of pillows on the market, which differ mainly in their composition, height and density, and are available in various materials, depending on the preferences of each user.
[0004] In terms of pillow shape, the most widespread format is rectangular, covering the entire width of the bed mattress, whether for double or single beds, this being the most common classic pillow model in our homes.
[0005] On the other hand, there are cervical pillows, with an orthopaedic function, for correct postural positioning, specifically of the user's head and neck, as well as butterfly-shaped cervical pillows, perhaps better known by their English name, designed to improve the rest of those who sleep on their backs.
[0006] However, although today's pillows fulfil their main purpose of providing rest or postural correction for people with cervical problems with varying degrees of success, they nevertheless suffer from several drawbacks, among which the following stand out: During deep sleep, current pillows can cause obstruction of the nasal passages, mainly due to the pressure exerted by the user's face against the surface of the pillow when sleeping on their side, which can lead to apnoea for a few seconds. At the very least, this can cause the user to wake up and lie awake, with the consequent discomfort of having to fall back asleep. Furthermore, mainly due to the conventional straight and elongated shape of current pillows, the pressure exerted on the user's face often causes noticeable unwanted wrinkles on the skin. On the other hand, current pillows do not prevent that uncomfortable and unpleasant sensation of the user's face coming into contact with the wet pillow, caused by their own saliva, as the user's mouth is in constant contact with the surface of the pillow, in addition to producing bad odours and / or generating bacteria. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The present invention solves the aforementioned problems by providing a pillow that not only helps the user fall asleep and improves the quality of sleep, providing optimal support and sustenance for the user's head and exerting slight pressure on the user's temple when sleeping on one's side, but also prevents problems of nasal obstruction, as well as the unpleasant situation of the pillow becoming wet from the user's own saliva.
[0008] More specifically, the pillow of the invention comprises a main body of a quasi-rectangular configuration, provided with at least one pair of arches located at the lateral ends of at least one of the longitudinal faces of the main body, said arches defining a recess or hollow in the main body of the pillow, said pair of arches being joined by a straight section located on said longitudinal- face of the main body.
[0009] Thus, thanks to this special pillow configuration, when in use, both the user's temple and the back of their neck are comfortably supported and cradled by the arches of the main body, in the lateral position of use of the pillow, i.e. when sleeping on one's side.
[0010] Preferably, each of the arches has two ends, where its proximal end coincides with the aforementioned straight section of the longitudinal face, while its distal end coincides with the transverse face of the main body. In other words, the proximal end of each arch is the one closest to the user's nape of the neck, and the distal end is the one closest to the user's temple, in the lateral position of use of the pillow.
[0011] More preferably, the distal end of the arches is located at a different height from the proximal end, such that the transverse width of the pillow is smaller in the area corresponding to said distal end. In effect, this special configuration of the arches allows the pillow to rise in its lower central area to accommodate the curvature of the user's neck up to the nape of the neck, with its lower corners disappearing to the height of the temples, as they are not necessary for supporting the head, leaving the user's face free from contact with the surface of the pillow. This particular arrangement of the ends of the arches at different heights is not trivial or random, but pursues a well-identified threefold objective: to provide a precise point of support on the user's temple, providing a pleasant massage pressure in that specific location, promoting relaxation; to avoid nasal obstruction, as both the user's nose and mouth remain completely free and exposed to the air, without any obstruction and without contact with the surface of the pillow; to prevent the formation of wrinkles on the user's face.
[0012] This triple beneficial effect mentioned above is also associated with a fourth additional improvement that should not be overlooked. Specifically, this special pillow configuration prevents the unpleasant feeling of a "wet pillow" caused by the user's own salivation during sleep, as well as the associated unpleasant odours, as the user's mouth does not come into contact with the surface of the pillow at any time.
[0013] As for the composition of the pillow, it is preferably made from 100% cotton (organic or conventional) and wool, thus providing maximum comfort and breathability and preventing excessive sweating. However, the possibility has been considered that the pillow of the invention may be made from other materials, such as foam, latex, acrylic fibre, feathers or down.

[0017] Figures 1 and 2 show the pillow (1) of the present invention, according to a first preferred embodiment, which comprises: a main body (10) of a quasi-rectangular configuration; two arches (20) located at the lateral ends of one of the longitudinal faces of the main body (10), said arches (20) defining a recess or hollow in the main body (10) of the pillow (1); and a straight section (30) located on said longitudinal face of the main body (10) where the arches (20) are located, specifically situated between the two arches (20).

As can be seen in Figures 3 and 4, the pillow (1) of this second preferred embodiment has a completely symmetrical configuration, in the shape of a cross, both with respect to its longitudinal central axis and with respect to its transverse central axis.

Claims
1. Pillow (1), characterised in that it comprises a main body (10) of a quasi-rectangular configuration, provided with at least one pair of arches (20) located at the lateral ends of at least one of the longitudinal faces of the main body (10), said arches (20) defining a recess or hollow in the main body (10) of the pillow (1), and said pair of arches (20) being joined by a straight section (30) located on said longitudinal side of the main body (10) of the pillow (1).
2. Pillow (1), according to claim 1, characterised in that the arcs (20) have two ends (21, 22), where their proximal end (21) coincides with the straight section (30) of the longitudinal side, while their distal end (22) coincides with the transverse side of the main body (10).
3. Pillow (1), according to claim 2, characterised in that the distal end (22) of the arches (20) is located at a different height from the proximal end (21), such that the transverse width of the pillow (1) is smaller in the area corresponding to said distal end (22).
4. Pillow (1), according to claim 1, characterised in that it has two pairs of arches (20), each pair of arches (20) being located on each of the longitudinal faces of the main body (10), additionally comprising two straight sections (30) parallel to each other and located in a central position on the longitudinal faces of the main body (10).
5. Pillow (1), according to claim 1, characterised in that it has two pairs of arches (20) and two straight sections (30), with both the arches (20) and the straight sections (30) located on the same longitudinal face of the main body (10) of the pillow (1).
6. Pillow (1), according to any of the previous claims, characterised in that the length of a straight section (30) is less than or equal to the diameter of an arch (20).
7. Pillow (1), according to any of the previous claims, characterised in that the arcs (20) have a circular geometry.
8. Pillow (1), according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the arcs (20) have an elliptical or wave-shaped geometry.
