Abstract

An apparatus for producing a sheet of aerosol-generating substrate for an aerosol- generating article comprises: a dough mixer (5) configured for kneading a mixture with a recipe and water to form a dough (Do); rollers operatively placed downstream of the dough mixer (5) and configured to flatten the dough (Do) to form the sheet (10). The rollers comprise a couple of spreading rollers (28A, 28B) comprising: a first spreading roller (31) having a first rotation axis (X-X) and a first radial outer face; a second spreading roller (32) having a second rotation axis (Y-Y) and a second radial outer face. The first radial outer face faces the second radial outer face to delimit a passage (33) for the dough (Do). One of or both the first radial outer face and the second radial outer face has / have reliefs and recesses to spread the dough (Do) into a sheet provided with at least one uneven surface.
