AI Technical Summary
Existing support frames lack sufficient stability, particularly in resisting deformations that could cause objects to tilt during automated processing, which is crucial for maintaining the position and integrity of objects stored on them.
The support frame features non-parallel webs acting as stiffening ribs, inclined at 45° to enhance bending and torsional stiffness, with square receiving openings and locking seats for a symmetrical grid, and a connecting body with locking means to ensure secure and flexible object placement, along with flushing openings for efficient cleaning.
This design significantly increases torsional rigidity while maintaining flexibility in processing, allowing for stable and automated handling of objects, extended service life, and efficient cleaning processes.

Abstract
Description
[0001] Support frame
[0002] DESCRIPTION:
[0003] The invention relates to a support frame having a frame within which a plurality of first webs and a plurality of second webs are arranged, which intersect with the first webs to form at least one receiving opening, wherein the first webs and / or the second webs are oriented at an inclination to the frame.
[0004] EP 3 480 128 B1 by the same applicant discloses a support frame having the features of the preamble of claim 1, which has proven itself in practice and is used in particular to store a plurality of objects on the support frame and to prepare them together for processing. For this purpose, the objects are automatically removed from the support frame one after the other, for example using a pick-and-place process, and returned after processing. An application is also possible in which the objects arranged on the support frame are jointly subjected to a processing step and, for this purpose, the support frame is moved with the objects. One example is use in a dishwasher, in particular a dishwashing machine, in which cleaning media at elevated temperatures are also used and act on the support frame.
[0005] The stability of the support frame is of great importance, as it facilitates automated processing and helps ensure accurate definition of the position of the objects at all times. Therefore, deformations of the support frame, which could cause the objects stored on it to tip, should be avoided as much as possible. Therefore, the object of the present invention is to design a support frame in such a way that deformations in the plane of the support frame are counteracted.
[0006] This object is achieved by a support frame having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments with expedient further developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.
[0007] The support frame according to the invention is characterized in that the webs are at least partially not aligned edge-parallel to the frame, so that the webs act as stiffening ribs, not only to increase the flexural rigidity in the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction, but also with respect to torsional forces that lead to twisting of the support frame.
[0008] A particularly large increase in torsional stiffness is achieved when the first webs and the second webs are inclined at an angle of 45° to the frame and forces acting at a corner of the frame are uniformly introduced into the frame with the first webs and the second webs.
[0009] It is also advantageous if the at least one receiving opening is square and the receiving opening is provided in multiple ways, wherein a latching seat is formed in a plurality of the receptacles, into which a connecting body provided with latching means can be detachably inserted. This design of the receiving openings results in a symmetrical grid in which changing from one receiving opening to an adjacent receiving opening requires the same amount of travel, which is advantageous with regard to the automated processing of the objects received in the receiving openings. Flushing openings are formed between the frame-side receptacles and the frame. The support frame is particularly useful when a connecting body is inserted into at least one of the receiving openings formed with a latching seat.
[0010] The terms "locking seat" and "locking means" are to be understood generally and encompass any type of detachable, locking connection, such as those found in ball lock pins, bayonet connections, or snap fasteners. In terms of simplicity of construction and production, particularly in an injection-molding process for support frames made of plastic, it is preferred if the locking seat is formed by two locking cams arranged on opposite sides of the receptacle.
[0011] The connecting body has a base that rests on the receptacle, on the side of which base is remote from the receptacle, a retaining element is formed, and on the side of which base is remote from the receptacle, a retaining base that can be inserted into the receptacle and carries the locking means formed by two grooves arranged on opposite sides of the retaining base. The retaining base is narrower than the groove base in the transverse direction to the axis connecting the two grooves, so that in a first orientation, the retaining base can be inserted between the locking cams and then brought into engagement with the locking cams by rotation with the grooves.
[0012] It is particularly preferred if locking seats are formed in the receiving openings on both the top side of the frame and the bottom side of the frame, since this allows the number of receiving openings to be easily increased and alternate use of the top and bottom sides is possible, which in particular also increases the maximum service life of the support frame until the wear limit is reached. For this purpose, the pair of locking cams on the bottom side can be assigned to the complementary sides in the receptacle, relative to the pair of locking cams assigned to the top side, which enables alternative orientation of the objects to be held if they are not rotationally symmetrical. In this case, the depth of the receptacle is preferably dimensioned such that the holding bases inserted from the top and the holding bases inserted from the bottom are spaced apart from one another, i.e. by avoiding static friction, it is avoided that a rotation of one holding base affects the other holding base.
[0013] It is also advantageous if a circumferential ring collar is formed on the underside of the frame at the edge, as this creates the option of a plate resting detachably on the ring collar, with receptacles having locking seats formed in the plate in a freely selectable grid. The arrangement of the first webs and the second webs on both sides of the support frame specifies a grid that is not optimal or usable for all applications. The plate can be used to easily provide a different grid, which can be processed in the usual way by assigning it to the support frame.
[0014] The features and feature combinations mentioned above in the description, as well as the features and feature combinations mentioned below in the description of the figures and / or shown alone in the figure, can be used not only in the respective combinations specified, but also in other combinations or on their own, without departing from the scope of the invention. Thus, embodiments are also considered to be disclosed by the invention that are not explicitly shown or explained in the figure, but which emerge and can be produced through separate feature combinations from the explained embodiments.
[0015] Further advantages, features, and details of the invention will become apparent from the claims, the following description of preferred embodiments, and the drawings. Herein:
[0016] Figure 1 is a plan view of a support frame, Figure 2 is detail II from Figure 1, and
[0017] Figure 3 is a perspective view of a connecting body.
[0018] Figure 1 shows a support frame 1 with a frame 3, within which a plurality of first webs 4 and a plurality of second webs 5 are arranged. The second webs 5 intersect with the first webs 4 to form at least one receiving opening 6. Figure 1 shows an embodiment in which the receiving opening 6 is provided multiple times, specifically in a number that fills the frame 3. In a plurality of the receiving openings 6, namely in all of them in the exemplary embodiment shown, a locking seat 7 is formed, as shown in Figure 2, into which a connecting body 2 provided with locking means 8, which is depicted in Figure 3, can be detachably inserted.
[0019] The special feature of this support frame according to the embodiment shown is that the first webs 4 and the second webs 5 are oriented inclined to the frame 3, specifically at an angle of inclination of 45°, whereby in particular an improvement in the torsional rigidity is achieved, without or without considerable impairment of the flexural rigidity in the two longitudinal directions 17 and transverse directions 18 defined by the plane of the support frame 1.
[0020] The receiving openings 6 are square, resulting in a uniform grid in the aforementioned direction. The locking seat 7 itself of each receiving opening 6 is formed by two locking cams 9 arranged on opposite sides of the receiving opening. These locking cams 9 serve to interact with locking means 8 on the connecting body 2, which has a base 10 lying on the receiving opening 6, on the side of which facing away from the receiving opening 6 a holding element 12 is formed. This holding element 12 can be used to releasably fix objects to the support frame, for which purpose a holding base 11 is formed on the side of the base 10 facing the receiving opening 6, which holding base 11 can be inserted into the receiving opening 6 and carries the locking means 8.In the illustrated embodiment, the locking means 8 are formed by two grooves 15 arranged on opposite sides of the holding base 11, wherein the holding base 11 is narrower than the groove base 13 in the transverse direction to the axis connecting the two grooves 15. This makes it possible for the holding base 11 to be inserted between the locking cams 9 until the base 10 comes into contact, in order to then rotate the holding base 11 to engage the locking cams 9 in the grooves 15.
[0021] It should also be noted that locking seats 7 are formed in the receiving openings on both the top side of the frame 3 and the bottom side of the frame 3, and these locking seats can be of identical design. In the receiving opening 6, the pair of locking cams 9 on the bottom side is assigned to the complementary sides opposite the pair of locking cams 9 assigned to the top side. The two pairs of locking cams 9 thus use all four sides of the square receiving opening 6. Furthermore, the depth of the receiving opening 6 is dimensioned such that the holding bases 11 inserted from the top side and the holding bases 11 inserted from the bottom side are spaced apart from one another.
[0022] On the underside of the frame 3, a circumferential ring collar is formed on the edge thereof, onto which a plate can be detachably fastened, wherein receiving openings 6 having locking seats are formed in the plate in a freely selectable grid.
[0023] It is also noteworthy that rinsing openings 16 are formed between the frame-side receiving openings 14 and the frame 3. These openings are particularly useful and accelerate the rinsing process when the support frame is used to clean objects attached to it with the connecting body 2 after one processing step or in preparation for the next.
