Methods and systems relating to assessing mitochondrial efficiency of an individual in the presence or absence of a health condition

Abstract

A method for assessing a mitochondrial efficiency of an individual may include: treating cultured cells with a biological sample from the individual; and measuring a physiological characteristic related a mitochondrial efficiency of the treated cultured cells, wherein the physiological characteristic relates to one or more of: mitochondrial stress, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production rate, reactive oxygen species, and mitochondrial networks.
