Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] A MEMBER, IN PARTICULAR AN ARMREST, USABLE BY A USER OF A CORRESPONDING APPARATUS OR DEVICE.

[0003] Field of application of the present invention

[0004] The present invention relates to a member, in particular an armrest, usable by a user of a corresponding apparatus or device.

[0005] State of the art

[0006] Armrests are known, which are usable by a user of an apparatus for lifting loads or material in general, and which comprise support means, in particular of corresponding means for controlling the apparatus or device, especially said means for controlling the apparatus comprising driving means of the apparatus or device, e.g., in the form of a joystick, levers, or command mini- levers or other.

[0007] However, these already-known members or armrests are at risk of unwanted breakage or yielding of the same member or armrest, with the need of performing corresponding and undesired downtimes of said apparatus using them.

[0008] Furthermore, in particular, the already-known armrests of the type intended to support bulky and heavy displays are typically made in substantial thicknesses, resulting in a loss of ergonomics and aesthetics of the same armrest.

[0009] Furthermore, when using said already-known armrests, the position of the arm, or forearm, of the user is not much taken care of, in practice it is not very stable, resulting in discomfort and fatigue for the same user.

[0010] Furthermore, with the already-known armrests, it is possible that undesired movements, in particular by the user’s hand, may easily impart incorrect and involuntary commands to the apparatus or device, with a serious risk also to the safety of the individuals operating inside the corresponding apparatus.

[0011] Furthermore, in the already-known armrests, it is not possible to easily remove a liquid, for example, rainwater or a drink inadvertently spilled or other, which has entered in an undesired manner inside the same member, or armrest.

[0012] Furthermore, the already-known armrests, due to the action of their specific configurations and dimensions, obtained via moulding of plastic material, cannot easily be adapted to different kinds of usages, for example, an armrest designed for not very bulky commands cannot be used also when rather bulky driving means are employed, since it could not be sufficiently robust, and vice versa, the armrest for more bulky driving means could be excessively oversized and unsuitable for use in contexts requiring an armrest for less bulky driving means.

[0013] Summary of the invention

[0014] With the present invention, a new and alternative solution is proposed to the solutions known so far. Specifically, the aim is to obviate one or more of the drawbacks or problems mentioned above and / or to meet one or more of the needs mentioned above, and / or otherwise recognized in the art, and particularly as inferred from the above.

[0015] Therefore, a member, in particular an armrest, is provided, which is usable by a user of a corresponding apparatus or any other suitable device, preferably the user being a user of an operational apparatus, in particular in the form of a vehicle, preferably a land vehicle, in particular a working vehicle, especially in the form of an apparatus for lifting loads or material in general, an apparatus for transporting loads or material in general, an earth-moving apparatus, an agricultural apparatus, or other; in particular said member or armrest being, in use, positioned at, preferably beside, an operational or seating station for the same user; the member, or armrest, comprises corresponding support means and is characterized in that said support means are adapted to support corresponding means for controlling the apparatus or device, and comprise reinforcement means including, or consisting in, a corresponding reinforcement framework.

[0016] In this manner, the occurrence of undesired breakage or yieldings of the support member or armrest is avoided and, therefore, a higher robustness and duration of the same member or armrest is ensured, with the advantageous possibility to avoid corresponding and undesired operational downtimes of said apparatus or device.

In particular, said walls 281 , 282, 283, 284, 285 are mutually connected and extend orthogonal to one another starting from the common lines or zones for a mutual connection, and defining a particular upper opening 280.

[0200] In this manner, said means for driving the apparatus or device, i.e. , a joystick, which expands considerably in a perpendicular direction, can also be housed on said means 12, or body 121 , for supporting said member, or armrest, 10.

[0201] In particular, the armrest body is in rigida plastic, the parts of which are obtained through a moulding process, while the body defining the surface for resting the arm or forearm is expanded polyurethane.

[0202] As illustrated, the channel means are advantageously defined by corresponding ribs that can be a reinforcement for the corresponding wall of the member or armrest body.

[0203] In the respective Figures, the liquid flow inside the channel means is highlighted by corresponding arrows.

[0210] - The arm can be slightly rotated allowing easy access to the controls, while keeping the rear part of the forearm firmly in place, thus being able to obtain an easy and precise movement thereof;

[0211] - The support of the arm, i.e., the forearm, is soft and comfortable for;

[0212] - The closing port is always kept well positioned to close as hermetically as possible said housing seat of the article or smartphone;

[0213] - The article of the user is always in a protected condition, for example, protected from dust or other environmental contaminants;

[0214] - The closing port is held securely in a closed condition while at the same time being easily openable;

[0215] - It is prevented that undesired movements, in particular by the user’s hand, may impart incorrect and involuntary commands to the apparatus or device;

[0216] - No obstacle is provided to the forward longitudinal movement of a corresponding command device;

[0217] - It is possible to easily remove a liquid, e.g., rainwater or a drink, inadvertently spilled or other, which has entered in an undesired manner inside said means, or body, for supporting said member, or armrest;

[0218] - Considerable savings are achieved from a construction standpoint;

[0219] - In this manner, said means for driving the apparatus or device, i.e., a joystick, which expands considerably in a perpendicular direction, can also be housed on said means, or body, for supporting said member, or armrest;

[0220] - The member or armrest can thus be adapted to different kinds of usages, for example, it can be used also when rather bulky driving means are employed, all this without having to excessively modify the line of the member or armrest, i.e. , without modifying the main body of the member or armrest. The present invention is susceptible to evident industrial application.
