The present invention relates to a construction site light (100) for illuminating work areas, wherein the construction site light (100) comprises: a battery-operated light (102); a battery holder (108) for detachably attaching a battery (110); a vacuum element (116) for attaching the construction site light (100) to a substantially smooth surface by means of negative pressure when the vacuum element (116) is pressed against the surface.
