A pilot light is a small gas flame, usually natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas, which serves as an ignition source for a more powerful gas burner. Originally, a pilot light was kept permanently alight; however, this is wasteful of gas. Now it is more common to light a burner electrically, but gas pilot lights are still used when a high energy ignition source is necessary, as in when lighting a large burner.

Multi-function power monitor and circuit protector

A compact and multi-functional power monitoring and circuit protection system is provided that is easily installed, used and modified, and internally derives all control and output power from the input voltages being monitored for abnormal power conditions. The functionality of all desired power monitoring and sensing devices is integrated into one unit controlled by a microprocessor. This substantially reduces the number of parts and control wiring required to achieve adequate power monitoring and circuit protection, and reduces the assembly and installation time. The integrated system uses only one set of voltage input wires, one set of current input wires, one set of blown fuse input wires and one output pair of wires to the power disconnect switch's shunt trip. Circuitry is provided to select one of the three power phases being monitored such that one of the three phases is always available to power the system. Control voltages for controlling the shunt trip and external circuits using output relays (to illuminate pilot lights, bell alarms, etc.) are also provided onboard the unit. A blown fuse detection circuit uses solid-state devices in lieu of replaceable trigger fuses. The unit can be instantly reset itself after a blown fuse condition in a power disconnect switch has been rectified.

The self-adaptive damage compensation method includes inserting two pulse modulation pilot frequency signals symmetrically distributed on an input signal frequency fc (fiber channel) at a transmitting terminal; acquiring an input signal power spectrum by the Fourier transform at a receiving terminal, and receiving the pilot frequency signals of a signal power spectrum and subjecting the pilot frequency signals to location and filtering extraction; calculating size of frequency offset of a vibration laser and performing compensation by a pilot frequency; acquiring pilot time domain waveforms by the Fourier transform and calculating a delay delta tau between two pilot light pulses, and calculating size of dispersion by the delta tau and performing the compensation; finally extracting pilot phase noises and subtracting the same from a signal phase so as to eliminate laser phase noises and nonlinear fiber damages. The self-adaptive damage compensation method has the advantages of high accuracy, low complexity, small occupation of bandwidth and fast response speed, so that self-adaptive compensation of various damages can be realized.

A gas fueled lighter having a compact storage configuration so as to be easily carried in a pocket or purse, the lighter actuated by sliding a longitudinal portion engaged to the body so as to extend said portion to form an extension having a free end, the free end configured to initiate a flame upon full extension from the body, the flame fueled by gas in the body and ignited by a piezo ignition switch. The preferred embodiment of the present invention is designed to provide an inexpensive, compact, easy to implement lighter providing the flame from an extension when in use, the extension sliding back to form a portion of the body when not in use. This safety feature not only provides a flame extended from the user's hand and body, it also provides an extension for lighting pilot lights, gas grills, fireplaces, and the like. The body of the preferred embodiment has a gas reservoir therein as well as the ignition and fuel valve, and further has a generally rectilinear configuration with at least a portion of the top configured to slide longitudinally to form the extension, the upper face of the top including a frictional area for placement of the user's thumb thereupon for sliding of the extension and initiation / cessation of the flame. The body may be rubberized for a better grip, and may include finger ridges for an enhanced grip of the system, and the overall body ideally has an ergometric design to facilitate comfortable and tactile operation.

According to the gas valve with the working state indicating function, the conductive sheet and the metal conductive ring are in contact or disconnected to control the LED lamp to be on or off; when in use after ignition of the gas valve, an indicator light is on all the time to remind of that a gas appliance is in a working state.

Gas-assisted flare burner

An improved flare burner for burning combustible gases in petroleum and petrochemical installations. A cylindrical shell has a closed bottom and an open top. A central opening in the bottom is connectable to a source of the gas to be burned. A plurality of linear steam/gas tubes is disposed within the shell, each tube extending to the open end of the shell and also extending through the shell bottom. A lower steam distribution sub-assembly below the shell bottom includes individual steam jets adjacent the ends of the tubes for educting air to the upper end of the tube. A pilot gas sub-assembly for igniting the flare gas is disposed within the shell. Gas to be burned is passed into the interior of the shell through the bottom opening and moves to the open end. Steam injected into the steam/air tubes educts air, and air and steam exit the tubes and mix with the gas to create a combustible mixture. The pilot light assembly provides an open flame which ignites the mixture. The upper end of the shell is reinforced by a rolled collar. An upper steam distribution subassembly within the collar includes a manifold and jets extending beyond the collar to provide additional air and steam for combustion and prevent fires from overflowing the burner and becoming attached to the outside surface of the shell.
