Handlebar assembly

Abstract

A handlebar assembly comprises: drop bars; and transversely extendable and retractable flat bars. The drop bars can be used when a cyclist using the handlebar assembly wishes to cycle aerodynamically at high speeds. The flat bars can be extended when the cyclist wishes to have more control over the bicycle to which the handlebar assembly is attached, for example in more technical gravel / mountain biking terrain. The flat bars can then be retracted when they are no longer required.
