Dual-posture electric assist bicycle

A dual-posture Electric Assist Bicycle (EAB) permits a rider to assume a rider-upright position while peddling or a rider-recumbent position while coasting with the electric assist propulsion system engaged. The rider can alternate between positions safely and while in motion. The dual-posture EAB comprises: a seat assembly, a footrest assembly and an extended handlebar assembly. The EAB's seat assembly includes an inclined backrest that is typically affixed to the EAB's seat post. Left and right footrests are affixed near the EAB's headtube. The extended handlebar typically includes means for quickly repositioning the controls while under way to optimize ergonomics for whichever seating posture is being used. In another example of the invention the frame of the bicycle is foldable into a dolly configuration for easy moving and storage. In yet another example of the invention the seat assembly, extended handlebar assembly, footrest assembly and an electric assist propulsion system are provided in kit form for converting a standard peddle bicycle into a dual-posture EAB. In still another example of the invention a trailer is provided with the EAB for towing additional batteries.

Parent Steerable Tricycle with Internal Steering Limiter

A child's riding vehicle such as a tricycle has a secondary steering column through which the parent walking behind the tricycle may steer the tricycle. The secondary steering column is coupled to the first steering column by a pair of rods that are attached at their respective ends to a first flange around the primary steering column and a second flange around the secondary steering column. The steering rods also act as steering limiters by contacting the wheel fork tube at a predetermined maximum steering angle and resisting further rotation of the flange. The mechanism lies entirely within the hollow frame of the tricycle for safety. The child's steering handle can be disengaged from the fork tube to allow the parent to completely control the steering without interference from the child.

Vehicles, such as all terrain vehicles, can be provided with a frame and a fender assembly. The fender assembly can have layered fender panels attached together with a bolt and T-nut. A channel can be formed between the fender panels to facilitate passage of fluid along a predetermined pathway. A seat includes a compression surface for sandwiching the fender assembly with respect to the frame. Front and rear fender assemblies can be attached to the frame by a midpoint fastener passing through respective apertures in each of the front and rear fender assemblies, through a grommet, and into the frame. A stay assembly attaches a mudguard to the fender assembly, and can involve a swivel clip. Methods are also provided.

The vehicle includes a head pipe, a main frame connected to the head pipe to extend downward and rearward, an engine disposed below the main frame, a leg shield covering a front side of a leg of a driver and having an opening in a forward area thereof, a radiator disposed within the opening of the leg shield which includes a core section through which running wind passes thus cooling the engine, and a wind guiding wall attached to the leg shield to guide the running wind to the radiator. The wind guiding wall includes a forward section that protrudes forward from a front end surface of the opening of the leg shield and a rear section that has a rear end positioned adjacent to a lateral side end of the core section of the radiator.

An opening introduces travelling wind to a space between the fuel tank and the vehicle body cover. A first exhaust pipe is located upstream of a catalyst and is connected to an exhaust port. Structure of Side Cover for Motorcycle

A motorcycle has a frame cover that covers at least a part of a body frame. A body cover is disposed on left and right sides of the body frame. A front cover covers a region below a steering handle. A leg shield is attached to the front cover and is formed with an opening that opens toward a front part of the motorcycle to allow wind in to cool the engine. The frame cover has a cable crossing portion that extends in a direction crossing an extension direction of a cable extending along the body frame, in order to prevent exposure and projection of cables toward the outside. The frame cover also has a forwardly extending support member that is inserted into the opening of the leg shield and supports the leg shield.
