Description

Title of the invention: Single-unit device for packaging cosmetic products

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of packaging of cosmetic products.

[0002] For the purposes of the present invention, the term “cosmetic product” means in particular a product as defined in Regulation (EC) No. 1223 / 2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 relating to cosmetic products.

[0003] More particularly, the packaging device according to the present invention is intended for the distribution of a cosmetic product, such as, for example, an anhydrous product, in the form of a compact powder, intended to be applied, for example, to the user's epidermis. The cosmetic product may be a makeup product, for example an eyeshadow, a blush, foundation or another makeup product.

[0004] The invention relates to a packaging and dispensing device comprising an upper cover mounted in an articulated manner on a base.

[0005] Reference may be made to document US 2002 / 0162565 - A1 which describes a container for holding a product comprising a base and a lid hinged to the base by an intermediate element capable of pivoting so as to allow the lid to pivot 360° relative to the base. The intermediate element comprises a locking bar extending vertically projecting from the intermediate element and designed to cooperate with an elongated opening located on a side wall of the base.

[0006] Reference may also be made to document FR 2 791 042 which describes a single-piece housing comprising a first part, a second part hinged to the first part by means of a central hinge and two film hinges. The central hinge is formed by a bar formed on the first part and cooperating with a retaining member formed on the second part.

[0007] Such containers require a movable transverse insert for molding and demolding the elongated opening, which generates a complex mold structure.

[0008] It is therefore necessary to provide a low-cost and easy-to-manufacture packaging device by simplifying the demolding step.

[0009] One of the objectives of the present invention is to provide a device for packaging at least one product of simple structure, easy to manufacture and ergonomic.

[0010] The subject of the invention is a single-piece device for packaging at least one product, in particular a cosmetic product, comprising a cap or lid, a base or container provided with a lower bearing surface and a hinged platform or intermediate element pivotally connecting the base to the cover and comprising: - a first hinge connected to a lower part of a rear wall of the base, in particular to the lower bearing surface, and configured to pivot the cover, in particular the assembly formed by the cover and the hinged platform, relative to the base from an initial molding position, in which the cover forms a first angle with the base, to an open use position in which the cover forms a second angle with the base; and - a second hinge connected to an upper portion of a rear wall of the hood in the initial molding position and configured to pivot the hood relative to the base from the open use position to a closed position in which the hood covers the base.

[0011] The base and the hinged platform being arranged in the same first plane in the initial molding position and a lower surface of the cover, opposite the upper part of the rear wall being arranged in a second plane parallel to the first plane of the base and the hinged platform in the initial molding position.

[0012] The base includes a rear wall provided with a vertical cutout having two opposite vertical snap grooves each configured to cooperate with a vertical snap element projecting vertically from the hinged platform in the initial molding position.

[0013] Due to the vertical cutouts made directly in the base and extending in a vertical direction, the latching force is significant and does not allow the user to easily move the cover from the open position to the molding position.

[0014] The device therefore comprises only one snap-on line between the hinged platform and the base. The snap-on line is produced by two attachment points formed by the cooperation between the vertical grooves and the snap-on elements.

[0015] In the open position, the latching elements extend along the longitudinal axis and in the closed position, the latching elements extend along the vertical axis.

[0016] Advantageously, each of the two vertical snap-fit elements comprises a protrusion extending beyond the surface of the hinged platform in two opposite directions and each intended to cooperate with the corresponding vertical groove in the open position.

[0017] For example, each protrusion comprises a planar surface.

[0018] Each snap-in groove has, for example, in cross-section, a parallelepiped shape designed to fit a corresponding shape on a snap-fit element.

[0019] Advantageously, the two vertical snap-in grooves extend over the entire height of the rear wall of the base.

[0020] According to one embodiment, the hinged platform comprises at least one position-holding member extending horizontally from a snap-fastening element towards the centre of the hinged platform and configured to cooperate, in the closed position, with a transverse projection projecting from the bottom of the vertical cut-out of the base towards the cover, thus forming a first anti-translation stop.

[0021] Indeed, in the closed position, the position-holding member comes into vertical support on the transverse projection, thus forming a low anti-translation stop.

[0022] Advantageously, the hinged platform comprises at least two position-holding members each extending horizontally from a snap-fastening element towards the centre of the hinged platform, each position-holding member being configured to cooperate, in the closed position, with a transverse projection projecting from the bottom of the vertical cut-out of the base towards the cover, thus forming a first anti-translation stop.

[0023] According to one embodiment, the hinged platform comprises at least one anti-translation stud extending along the longitudinal axis in the initial molding position and configured to cooperate, in the closed position, with a notch in matching shape made in the bottom of the vertical cutout of the base, thus forming a second anti-translation stop.

[0024] Indeed, in the closed position, the anti-translation stud is inserted into a notch, thus forming a high anti-translation stop.

[0025] For example, the notch is located in the two transverse projections.

[0026] Advantageously, the hinged platform comprises at least two anti-translation studs each extending along the longitudinal axis in the initial molding position, each anti-translation stud being configured to cooperate, in the closed position, with a notch in matching shape made in the bottom of the vertical cutout of the base.

[0027] Advantageously, the cover is delimited by a front wall, a rear wall, opposite the front wall, two side walls and a lower surface delimiting an interior cavity and in which the base is delimited by a front wall, a rear wall, opposite the front wall, two side walls and a lower surface delimiting an interior cavity for receiving the product, the first hinge being connected to the lower part of the rear wall of the base and the second hinge being connected to the upper part of the rear wall of the cover, opposite the lower surface.

[0028] The present invention will be better understood upon studying the detailed description of embodiments, taken as non-limiting examples and illustrated by the appended drawings, in which:

[0038] and

[0039] [Fig. 10] are detail views of a hinged platform of the device of [Fig.l].

[0040] In the remainder of the description, we consider an orthonormal basis X, Y, Z, with Z corresponding to an elevation axis representing the vertical direction in which we find:

[0041] - a longitudinal axis X, horizontal and extending from left to right on the views of above ;

[0042] - a transverse axis Y, horizontal, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X and extending from front to back in top views; and

[0043] - a vertical axis Z, orthogonal to the longitudinal axes X and transverse Y and extending from top to bottom on side views.

[0044] The expressions "upper" and "lower" refer to the upper part and the lower part of the figures, in the initial molding position.

[0045] A device 10 for packaging a product is illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 10.

[0046] By “product” is meant a cosmetic product, such as, for example, a product finely ground, compacted solid in the form of a compact powder, intended to be applied, for example, to the user's skin. The compact powder can be of the foundation, blush or eyeshadow type that can be picked up, for example, directly with the finger or with a powder puff or even with a brush.

[0047] However, the invention is not limited to a cosmetic product. Other types of products could also be provided, such as, for example, paint. anhydrous.

[0048] The device 10 is of the makeup case type and comprises a cover or hood 20 and a base or receptacle 30 connected to the hood 20 by an intermediate element or hinged platform 40.

[0049] The device 10 is a single-piece molded part, as shown in Figures 1 to 4 and 7.

[0050] The cover 20 is delimited by a front wall 21, a rear wall 22, opposite the front wall 21, two side walls 23, 24 and a lower surface 25 delimiting an interior cavity 26 to receive for example a mirror and / or an application element (not illustrated).

[0051] The front wall 21 includes a protruding member 21a which extends beyond the cover 20 and which is adapted to engage with a corresponding notch 31a provided on a front wall 31 of the base 30 in order to reversibly lock the cover 20 onto the base 30.

[0052] The base 30 is delimited by a front wall 31, a rear wall 32, opposite the front wall 31, two side walls 33, 34 and a lower surface 35 delimiting an interior cavity 36 for receiving the product.

[0053] The hinged platform 40 comprises a first hinge 41 connected to the lower part of the rear wall 32 of the base 30 and a second hinge 42 connected to the upper part of the rear wall 22 of the cover 20, opposite the lower surface 25.

[0054] In the initial molding position, illustrated in Figures 1 to 4, the base 30 and the hinged platform 40 are located in the same plane PI and the cover 20 is located in a plane P2 parallel to the plane PL

[0055] The hinges 41 and 42 are of the film hinge type, in the form of a U-shaped transverse groove formed on the upper surface 40a of the hinged platform 40. The hinges are also formed with a V-shaped transverse notch (not visible in the figures) formed on the lower surface 40b of the hinged platform 40.

[0056] The first hinge 41 is designed to articulate the assembly formed by the cover 20 and the hinged platform 40 relative to the base 30 from an initial molding position, visible in FIGS. 1 to 4, in which the cover 20 forms a first angle a1 of between 200° and 220° with the base 30 to an open use position, visible in [Fig. 5], in which the cover 20 forms a second angle a2 of between 70° and 100°, for example equal to 90° with the base 30.

[0057] The second hinge 42 is designed to articulate the cover 20 relative to the base 30 from the open position of use to a closed position in which the cover 20 covers the base 30, as seen in [Fig.6].

[0058] The hinges 41, 42 of the hinged platform 40 are located in the same PI plan, which simplifies the mold and reduces the amount of molding material required.

[0059] In the closed position, the front wall 21 of the cover 20 is aligned with the front wall 31 of the base 30 and the rear wall 22 of the cover 20 is aligned with the rear wall 32 of the base 30.

[0060] The rear wall 32 of the base 30 has a rounded cutout 37 to ensure that the cover 20 does not abut against the base 30 during the rotational movement of the cover 20 from the open position to the closed position and vice versa. The rounded cutout 37 is illustrated in [Fig.6].

[0061] The rear wall 32 of the base 30 comprises a vertical cutout 32a provided with two vertical snap-in grooves 32b along the entire height of the rear wall 32. Each snap-in groove 32b has, in cross-section, a parallelepiped or rounded shape designed to correspond to a corresponding shape on a snap-in element 44.

[0062] The hinged platform 40 comprises two vertical snap-in elements 44 which each extend transversely from an opposite end of the upper surface 40a of the hinged platform 40 in the initial molding position. Each snap-in element 44 is intended to cooperate with a vertical groove 32b of the base 30.

[0063] In the open position, the latching elements 44 extend along the longitudinal axis X, as can be seen in Figures 7 and 8. In the closed position, the latching elements 44 extend along the vertical axis Z, as can be seen in [Fig.9].

[0064] Each of the snap-in elements 44 comprises a protrusion 44a extending beyond the upper surface 40a of the hinged platform 40 in two opposite directions along the transverse axis Y in the initial molding position. Each protrusion 44a is intended to cooperate with a corresponding vertical groove 32b in the open position.

[0065] The device therefore comprises only a single snap-fastening line between the hinged platform 40 and the base 30. The snap-fastening line is produced by two attachment points formed by the cooperation between the vertical grooves 32b and the snap-fastening elements 44.

[0066] As illustrated in detail in [Fig.7], the hinged platform 40 comprises two position-holding members 45 each extending horizontally from a snap-in element 44 towards the center of the hinged platform 40.

[0067] Each position-holding member 45 cooperates in the closed position with a transverse projection 38 projecting from the bottom of the vertical cutout 32a of the base 32 towards the cover 20. In the closed position, the position-holding members 45 position come into vertical support on the corresponding transverse projection 38, thus forming a low anti-translation stop.

[0068] As illustrated in detail in [Fig.7], the hinged platform 40 further comprises two anti-translation studs 46 each extending along the longitudinal axis in the initial molding position.

[0069] Each anti-translation stud 46 cooperates in the closed position with a notch 39 of matching shape made in the bottom of the vertical cutout 32a of the base 32 between the two transverse projections 38. In the closed position, the anti-translation studs 46 are inserted into a corresponding notch 38, thus forming a high anti-translation stop.

[0070] The device 10 is made of plastic material such as polypropylene (PP), acrylobutadiene-styrene (ABS), PET, recycled PET or any material suitable for a makeup case.

[0071] Thanks to the vertical cutouts 32b made directly in the base 30 and extending in a vertical direction, the snap-in force is significant and does not allow the user to easily move the cover 20 from the open position to the initial molding position.

[0072] The combination of two anti-translation stops makes it possible to further increase the force required by the user to move the cover 20 from the open position to the initial molding position. The maintenance of the hinged platform in the open position of the cover 20 is thus improved. The combination of two anti-translation stops also makes it possible to have a fixed position of the second hinge 42 in order to have good flat positioning of the cover on the base.

[0073] Furthermore, the mold used to mold the container 10 is of simple structure since the two snap-fit elements 44 at the ends of the hinged platform 40 are demoldable in the direction of opening of the mold. In general, all the elements are demoldable in the direction of opening of the mold.

[0074] The container can thus be molded in the same core without any additional slide.
